GCS Apparatus Vol 3: Gravity Houses

By Richard Lopen. During the early days of the Galactic Council, giant megastructures in the shape resembling a hexagon often orbited their assigned planet. They served as Galactic trading hubs and often hosted manufacturing facilities and a designated gravity setting. This optimal way of trade created a neutral, and more efficient economy between planetary members. Eventually, all markets began to shift towards a neutral Social Credit system for every citizen that would establish equity across the Council’s territories. This method proved effective in one department, but other factors were quickly brought to the table. One of the key elements being the political realm. Time was different on many planets, debates were often one sided. With viewership being low after sunset on one planet, while another seemed forever set in vice versa. Meetings of importance were often done in various steps to ensure that politicians were wide awake and capable of their jobs, oftentimes one would have to plan months to years in advance to create a meeting or host a debate due to time differences, and too often after terms ended did some of these dates land on. Differences in time zones had already been a problem for the Galactic Council beforehand, but the issue was entirely different in terms of collective responses whereas now, a unified Council should bring unified and efficient systems of conduct. One individual poised the idea, “What if all planets in the council had the same rotation?” This question had been asked before, and theoretical papers suggested that the technology to do so was beyond the years that the first question had been brought forth. But on 01.02.05, the first tests of gravitational manipulation on mass objects had shown promising results. Fast forward 50 years and the first successful rotational test on an absent planet had proved to be fruitful. The first 2 Gravity Houses had been officially created by “Gravitonika” - a company that specializes in Gravitational related technologies. Gravity Houses are circular, they are gargantuan structures that house a planetary member and control its rotation. These Houses also act as Galactic highways and borders. During transfer or visitation to other planetary members, there are various enjoyments and even hotel spaces for Citizens within them while they wait for their boarding ship. Gravity House also brings more industrial, engineering, and even military jobs. With populations up to 1 million, Citizens have noted that the structures are not just a hub for transference, but are seen as an extension of their assigned planet. The first planet tested was Loch Prime, the planet had its rotational speed slowed down over the course of 15 years, and tuned its speed to that of Galactic Prime. Over time, the spheres were constructed for every planet, it took nearly 250 years to construct 2 for each Planetary Member of the Council. In order to solve the time constraint, the planets that were housed had their rotations slowed down over a century in order to allow the production of further housing to be quickened. When a planet is selected, its Citizens are alleviated away from their home worlds and placed on Planetary Members who have had their housing completed. Citizens were issued gravitational adaptation suits, and MicroCities outside of the Capitals were built to further train the individual to adapt to the Council’s systems. The spheres are built piece by piece on multiple space stations that travel through space towards their destination, this speeds up construction. 2 giant pieces of the house are constructed and placed on opposite sides of the planet in question, they are then moved to connect to one another, after the connection, the houses are turned on and then the planet’s rotation is ever slowly reconfigured. Each structure contains interconnected chambers that house advanced electrical magnetic influence based technology. It was believed that gravity was too weak to be used as a source in tools, or had no relationship to electromagnetism. This technology proved extremely dangerous, expensive, and too time consuming to continue on mass scales. It was then so harmoniously decided that, after the Gravity Houses and Space Stations, the technology would never be used unless to repair and replace where it is applicable, it’s not even accessible unless you are qualified to make repairs, the way the technology works is highly guarded, with only a very small minimum amount of info available since its inception.
The Gravity Houses have lasted since the first one was built. It suffice to say that the Council’s unparalleled and extravagant prowess has led us all to be on the same page.
