Reincarnation 101

The Academy Begins

The Academy Begins

Mar 27, 2025

"Well. Well. Well, the awaited day is finally here."

Finn gripped around the tie that had a strangely tight knot around his neck.

"You idiot!"

—Smack!

"Ouch! What was that for?"

He turned to see Templeton standing behind him with a rolled up paper, which he had just used to smack him in he head.

He gave him a discerning look before loosening up the red tie, and redoing it once more.

Finn stood there in silence until Templeton was done with it.

"There..."

He backed off with a satisfied grin, looking at his handicraft from a distance.

It was not much, but he felt fulfilled at having done it right for the kid.

"Um..." scratching the back of his head, Finn replied, "...thanks."

"Come on. You got into Nexarion, how can you not know how to do a tie properly?"

"Hey, not everyone is blessed with everything, besides, I got in through recommendation, remember?"

He retorted, but his voice lacked any real bite.

"You do look much better than when I first saw you."

He glanced down to see Finn much healthier.

His stick-like figure looked much sturdier, and he no longer seemed to droop, which made him look taller now, even standing almost head-to-head with Templeton.

But the most astounding change that had happened to him within a week was the growth of his hair.

The short tousled hair, now dropped a little more below his shoulder, and if one were to look closely, hidden strands of blue could be seen.

Of course, this would never happen to a normal person, so why was his hair almost more than ten times it's original size?

"You look good."

"Ha...thanks."

The comment seemed to throw of Finn, but he shrugged it off.

Despite having been an adult, he retained much of childishness.

"Professor Templeton!"

A deep voice called out to him.

Turning, he met he source of the voice, "Ah..."

A black haired girl walked over to him, handing him something square shaped, and as big as a book.

It was a tablet.

The girl wore a similar two piece suit as Finn did, full black, a crisp white shirt inside, and a similar red tie.

The only difference between his and her's was, she had a pin of a silver cresent moon on her lapel.

Skimming through the contents on the bright screen, he looked back at the black haired girl.

"I see, I'll be there."

He spoke, his words aimed at the girl, holding out the tablet.

At his words, the girl accepted it.

Before leaving, she shot Finn a silent glance.

'Clarise, I remember her, she's my senior.'

"Hey, something came up. That idiot principal isn't doing her damn job."

"Ha. Should you be referring to her as such?"

"Of course I can. I handle her."

With that he waved at Finn, walking away.

"Ha...wonder what the old man is upto."

"Leave me alone you crazy lady!"

Jack stood behind his bed, half cowering at Shia holding a comb.

The way she held it was reminiscent to swordsman holding their sword, preparing for battle.

"Leave you... hahaaaa—I'm not going anywhere, Mister Jonathan! Now come here?!"

Jack picked up one of the pillows, and threw it at her.

Cutting through the air, it instantly made it's way over the large bed, all over to Shia's face, before—

—Smack!

Shia started saying something, it was unclear at first, similar to senseless ramble.

"—I hope to cut through this space..."

Her words became more concise.

"Those incantations..." Jack's brown eyes twitched, he knew what the incantations were for.

"Miss Shia, it's not that serious."

"—Blink!"

—Fwoop!

The space she had previously been occupying seemingly distorted, and along with the distortion, she disappeared.

'?!!'

Jack kept his eyes peeled open, he was not intent on getting caught by the vicious principal.

—Twist!

He turned at lightning fast speeds, but there was nothing behind him.

That was strange, nothing usually went past his senses, unless—she was really good at hiding.

"Hehe!"

He quickly felt the sudden thick intent from above him.

She lunged down on him, like a big cat prancing down on it's prey.

Jack could barely react as she landed on him, pinning him down to the floor.

Despite the difference in their build, with her being almost two times smaller than the man, she pinned him down with great ease.

After realising he had been caught, Jack stopped resisting as he laid there in defeat, knowing further resistance is futile.

With an evil glare, she pressed the comb on his hair, slicking it to the left, "Now I have you! How dare you try to run from me?"

"Ouch!! Please do it slow!"

Jack wailed his limbs around, still under her.

"No. I'd have accepted this had you been deferential with me, now suffer for your mishaps."

She continued combing his hair, the edge of her lips parted away from the centre.

It seems all this struggle was simply because Miss Shia wanted to do his hair, but why the 'struggle?'

"Miss Shia! You're hurting me!"

She was not gentle with it.

Her movements were graceful with trained strokes, which still dug deep into his scalp seeing how the man was screaming in agony.

Still, how was she able to subdue the big man?

Well the strength of a Seventh-star mage was not to be taken lightly.

Even if Jack himself was one stage lower than hers, the gap between the two ranks could be considered the sea and the sea bed.

"Couldn't you do it slow..."

He grunted, trying to shift under her hold.

"...nope. I'm doing it as gentle as I can," she replied with small caring smile, it was genuine.

Her hands continued to part his hair, carefully.

She thread the comb through his hair, parting it, then letting a small patch of it lay over his right eye, and kept the rest of slick back.

"Done," she said, and with that, she got off him.

With another grunt, he placed his hands and pushed himself off the ground, before stretching.

Jack then felt a strange poke around his belly, which by the way seemed to bulge out, straining against the crisp white tank top.

"You need to get yourself back in shape."

She poked around at certain spots, looking at him as if he were her personal specimen.

Placing a hand on his sloppy abdomen, he turned away from her, "I'd prefer to keep my padding. Believe it or not, this..." he shook it slightly, "...provides great heating."

"That's what they all say, but I suppose this adds to your charm."

Shia said.

At her words, he asked, "...where is my costume?"

"Oh!"

Quickly tapping on her wrist, a white shirt appeared on top of her palm.

The shirt had soft linen, paired with black leather straps and silver buckles that seemed to replace the traditional buttons of a normal shirt.

"Is that all?" Jack accepted the shirt with a reluctant glance, going over the choices that brought him here.

The day he met Shia was like any other day.

He never expected the day to be special, nor did he when he met Shia.

He thought she would leave him after hearing his answer, but she persisted, she reminded him.

Reminded him of his value.

Because of this, he had grown quite fond of the principal, just as the principal who seemed to have grown quite fond of him as well.

"Well not quite," she replied, pulling out a jacket, and a long overcoat, one large enough to overshadow the shirt.

It had a much darker tint compared to the shirt.

Jack having put on the shirt, held out his hand to accept the coat.

Shia handed him the chalk-beige coat, which went well with the white shirt.

—Sszzzz

He pulled it on, the coat resting over his broad frame, snug and fit.

"This feels great," he said, and looked at the long overcoat with discontent eyes, "...do I have to wear that?"

"Hm... I do think this will look great on you."

"You think?"

"I suppose we'll be apart for sometime. I did like how you taught me... so, thanks, and goodbye."

Daniela bowed before a partially stunned Wyge.

What was the princess doing?

She asked herself this multiple times, because the Princess, a royalty was blowing before her, a maid, and a fallen noble.

This left the mouths of both her and the other maids around agape.

"Milady... What are you doing?!"

She couldn't help but gasp in surprise.

"What?" Daniela shook off her question, oblivious to the certain storm brewing around as a result of her actions.

Wyge placed a hand on her head, and shook it lightly.

With a simple bow, she replied, "Milady, I am not deserving of su—"

"I thought I made a promise. I haven't forgotten about that."

At her words, Wyge felt something crack inside her.

'She did not forget!'

She did not forget!

The words, triumphant and joyful, echoed inside her.

She wanted to jump around in joy, but that would be quite unsightly of her, not like her pride would allow for such behaviour.

"Please raise your head," Daniela spoke, placing a hand on her shoulders, urging her to stand up straight.

"Also..." Daniela leaned in and whispered to her in an ever so low voice, "...I left a piece of paper in my room, find it."

She pulled back nonchalantly, and left her a wink before making her way off towards the teleportation gate.

The same wretched teleportation gate she had open mindedly hated, but she did not have any other choice.

'Couldn't this world just use vehicles for transportation?'

She thought, looking up.

Placing a finger on her chin, she clicked her tongue.

'I don't have a smart phone.'
