Chapter Twelve: Human?

Ki’s madness took over as he fell to the ground. His body couldn’t help but drool as he laughed and smiled. His forehead veins began to pulsate with each laugh.

He mutters, “control…control…and takes a breath”

Ki prop’s up the chair to help regain his balance. This is when Ki begins to realize that he has lost control. He has failed as a father and as a man. Things have to change… he no longer has them. He denies their existence from the family and beings to move on.

He sits hunched with his knees separated and wipes the drool. Puts both of his hands up and pulls back his hair. He takes some time to calm down. Ki thinks, “This is why your house is such a mess.”

He becomes a more controlling man and hard-hearted towards his sons. Ki heads to the main house and calls for a cleaning to be done. 

(Meanwhile…) 

Myla heads to the 6th division. “Ma’am,” says a bowing maid. “Hello…what seems to be the problem?” asked Myla.

“... I don’t know if this… is related to the young misses but-” the maid gets interrupted. “Wait…” Myla says. She asks for the head maid of this division to clear out the space and make sure they are alone and to ensure no one interrupts her.  

“Okay, tell me what only I need to know,” Myla said, instituting that this talk was only between them and no one should know about it. They take a seat and start to discuss the maid's daughter, Toni is missing and she was known to hang around young Miss Jini. 

“Have you talked to your husband about anything yet?” asked Myla. “No ma’am, just us. He thinks she is running an errand for Miss Jini,” answered the maid. “Okay, tell him that she was moved by me to another family. You will be rewarded with money for her placement,” said Myla.

The maid was surprised by her will to protect her own by any means, even if that meant hiding things from her husband, the head of the family. The maid nodded to Myla as if both agreed to keep their daughters' secret and to protect them any way they could, even from their own blood. 

Myla heads to the main division to give Ki a report of the investigation, and it provided nothing new. The daughters are nowhere to be found, and no evidence could be found. But all that is a lie. Myla can guess where and what happened to them based on the note and by the conversation she had with the others. 

All she can be sure of is that they are safe and with her brother- sister now and they can be free to be who they truly are and live their life how they want to. Something she was never able to do for herself.

Myla heads to the garden at the center of the divisions, the center garden, back to where it all started for her. Where her first test took place. She stands at the place where she was left all those years ago and just stares at the floor, remembering what coldness she had to endure to survive this place. And remembers her place in this family.

“Luna! Come here,” says Myla softly. 

A dog comes out of the darkness and places herself in front of Myla. As if it was saying, “Yes, ma’am.”

“I guess you are my only daughter now, the daughter that Ki chose for me and gifted, the daughter that I trained. Had you since you were a bab- puppy. It's with you that I can truly let all my feelings be known and never be judged for nor mistreated,” says Myla in a tearful voice.

Before the drops of water land on Myla, Danni walks with an umbrella towards her can protect her from the water. It’s the least he can do since he can’t protect her from Ki. They walk to the main house. Myla, with the two beings she can rely on, can relax a bit before Ki’s temperament.

At the main house, Ki calls over the maids and orders that everything relating to this female kin be thrown out or burned from existence. You could see the disgust in Ki’s eye as the maids and men move pictures of the girls from the walls of the main house. If his eyes could burn, they would have at that moment.

Myla rushes in as she sees more and more people coming in and out of the house, taking things of her daughters out.

“Danni, try to save something without being caught,” asked Myla. Danni heads over to some people and gets busy trying to save what he can for Myla.

“Ma’am, let me take that from you,” said Danni. He grabs a photo album from when the girls were little and hides it in a place only both can find and know of. He then sees another maid holding what looks like the young miss's baby clothes that Myla had made when she was carrying them. Those were the only things he was able to save before more people started to help out. 

“Where is Ki?” calmly asked Myla.

“Dear, forget the investigation entirely. Forget their existence as well. We only have two sons who will inherit everything and will be the pride and joy of this house.” Ki said.

“Yes, dear, whatever you say will be true,” Myla responded.

Myla grabs another bottle for Ki and begins to pour his favorite drink. “Ma’am, where does this go?” asked a maid.

“Where do you think it goes you ***********. I have said it a million times: let it burn, let it burn, let it turn to ash and soot. Down with those ***** who don’t derveser to be related to this family,” sluggishly said Ki.

“Just do what he ordered don’t ask me for anything I am just here to pour him his drinks and make sure he gets to bed,” said Myla.

“Good, you have relearned your place. By my side and with no power,” said Ki
