He used to pick me up from school and dropped me at home before going back to the company again but I told him to stop after I got to 200L,I started going to his company to learn some works and we would go home together when he is done.

The bus stopped and I slung my backpack on my shoulder and began strolling to his company.

“Here comes the princess”.Jerry,the head of security in the company greeted with a smile on his face.

I chuckled and put my phone inside my pocket and saluted him.”Permission to enter,sir?”

“Permission granted”,he saluted back and we both laughed.

“How's your day today,kiddo?”

I stretched,”not too bad, except the afternoon is gonna be hell”

He chuckled and waved his hand at me,”Hurry along then”

“See you later,Jerry’’I said as I jogged inside.

I walked towards the private elevator which leads directly to my Father's floor,as I was a about to go in,a voice stopped me.

“Who are you and how dare you try to enter that elevator?Don't you see it's written that it's exclusively private?”She questioned in a piercing voice.

I winced at turned back to see a woman of about thirty-five wearing an overly tight clothes with a heavy make-up on.

“Are you new here?”,I asked while tilting my head.

“Yes,the new member of the president's secretaries office”She said proudly with her head held up high.

“Oh,good for you”I said nonchalantly and turned back to enter the elevator.

A force dragged me back and I stumbled before I regained my balance,I turned to look at her coldly and questioned,”What are you trying to do?”

By now,a little crowd has started to form on us and they're looking at the woman with amusing gazes.

She took a step back and looked at me fiercely,”The president's floor isn't a place where little brats like you who follows older men around for money can enter”.

I looked at her and burst into laughter.

“You,Ms….”I looked at her name tag,”Lucy, should set your head straight and focus on the job you're hired for and don't get any rotten idea because the man in there isn't your piece of cake”.

“What do you mean by that?How dare you question me?”She shouted angrily and just then,the private elevator door opened and my Father came out.

“What's going on here?”He asked while looking at me with his brow raised.

I smiled while crossing my hand and shift on my leg,”Your Ms new secretary here decided to not let me,the little brat that follows older men for money,enter the private elevator as it's exclusive to the president alone”.

Mu Father turned to Ms Lucy and she smoothing out her dress while smiling like an innocent deer,”It's like this,sir.This young lady just enter and went straight to the private elevator without stopping at the reception to book an appointment so I was trying to correct her but she just started throwing verbal abuse at me”

“Oh”,My Father nodded,”And did you ask who she is or did you see any other person in this company stop her before you did?”

“No sir”

“What about after you stopped her?”

“Nobody came,they just stold there letting a stranger in”

“Ms Lucy,you can stop working at the secretaries office as from this moments”he said.

Livy looked at my Father happily and asked,”Where would I be working then?”

“You're fired”

“What?Why?This is totally unfair,Mr Houston”

“Is it unfair everybody?”My Father asked the crowd

They all murmured in disagreement.

“The young miss isn't someone to be treated rudely”

“That Lucy of a person is too arrogant for her own good,who does she think she is”

“I've been watching since they started talking and this new secretary is totally at fault,she should be happy the young miss didn't slap her”

“The young miss is too nice”

“What do you say?Young miss?”Lucy looked at everyone in bewilderment.

“Yeah,she's my daughter.Any objection now?”He said while stuffing his hands in his pockets.

Lucy turned around listlessly and everyone dispersed after greeting me.

My Father took my hand and we entered the elevator.

“Argghhh,so much argument has already drained my energy,don't disturb me when I'm sleeping later on”I said frustratingly.

“Yes,your highness”My Father nodded with a smile,”Your eyes are almost closing”

“I need to sleep”I yawned and leaned against him tiredly.

“Off you go,baby”he closed while rubbing my hair.

“You still got your charms after all,Mr Cian”I murmur sleepily,I didn't hear his reply before I was lulled to sleep.

The following day….

“Do you know someone joined the research institute yesterday?”Ophelia asked.

We're in a mall after classes because there's going to be a festival at the school so we're here for the preparation.

We're done for the day but was drinking cold milk tea.

I shook my head,”And how do you know that?”

“It's all over the school forum,people says he's devilishly handsome and super intelligent.He has a face-off with Professor Johns,that man who always bombard students with questions.He won victoriously”She beamed with eyes of a fanatic fan.

“Good for him”I said while scrolling through my phone and sipping on my milk tea

“Can't you show some excitement for once?”She said exasperatedly

“Oh,I will.Wow,he's so good.Like that?”I said while rolling my eyes

“This little brat”She humped in annoyance.

My mother's call came in

“Indigo,it's almost six pm.When are you coming home?”

“I'm on my way,I'm just preparing to leave”I stood and hurriedly pack my loads,I hung up.

“Bye Ophelia,see you tomorrow”

I hurriedly move through the crowd.

I collided with a sturdy wall and wince in pain.I looked up and collided with a pair of icy blue eye,very icy that I shivered involuntarily.

“Sorry”I murmured in apology.

“Careful princess”He said with a smile with his eyes shining in what I observed to be amusement,bewilderment and glee

The voice sent a shiver through my spine and my heart beat furiously.

I frowned and murmured a sorry once again before running to the bus station.

I looked at the adorable figure in front of me,the sweet smell coming from her almost drove me into a state of insanity,I brush my tongue against my teeth as I felt it aching.

She murmured another sorry and run off to the bus station,I looked at her and smiled in delight,it seems my stay in this town will be interesting.
