Not so far from that room, Khaos, the Queen of the nation, was talking with the cops in charge of the case. She was gathering information about the deceased and the crime.

– Are you planning on investigating by yourself this case, Goddess Khaos? – One of them asked.

– Maybe. I think this might be related to the latest cases since the circumstances are the same.

– Hmm, yes, that’s true. As we have found out, he was also a wanted criminal. – He agreed.

– Well, since I’m here, I would also like to ask you all about something. – Khaos announced as she took a paper from her sleeve.

The officers looked at each other in confusion. It was rare seeing Khaos there and wanting to ask them something despite them being the closest unit to her.

She took the paper out and showed them. It was the one from last night.

– Do any of you recognise this? Have you seen it before? – She asked.

– I’ve never seen that before, Khaos. But… where’s that paper from? – A white haired officer asked.

– I found it somewhere and I thought about it belonging to any of you. – She replied.

Her plan was to see if any of them looked suspicious when she’d show the paper. The reason for this was because only the violent crimes unit knew about the secret wanted list of the nation… Which means, only that unit could possibly know about those criminals' locations…

– Yeah, I guess none of us have ever seen that somewhere. – A blue eyed girl confessed.

… But no one knew, and no one seemed to be dishonest. She sighed and hid the paper again.

– Thanks. I shall take my leave now, have a good day everyone. – She said, before leaving the department.

After some hours, Vincent and Catherine were already at his house. She checked her phone and saw messages from her friends, they were supporting her and saying they would be there for her if she ever needed something. She replied back saying she was gonna live with Vincent and that she was safe. Having such friends warmed her heart.

Meanwhile in Eclipse’s house, she was helping her parents make dinner, when her brother Leo came back from work.

– I’m back! Hum? What’s this good smell? – He said as he felt a sweet scent pick up on his nose. He walked over to the kitchen and saw them. – Ohh, so the good smell is from this…

– Yeah, we’re almost done making dinner. Dad is preparing the table. – His sister replied.

– Ah, I see. Imma lay down on the couch for a bit, I’m tired from work. It was quite busy today… Even Khaos appeared there this time. – He said, as he walked over to the kitchen couch after grabbing a piece of bread.

– Really? Why? – Dahlia asked.

– Well, apparently they found the next wanted criminal dead, and she showed up there to ask us about a specific paper…

Eclipse looked at him, curious.

– She didn’t tell us where she found the paper though, but I bet it’s related to the case. It seemed like it. – He shared.

– Oh? What was on the paper? – She asked, cleaning her hands on the sink.

– There was The Moon’s Shadow written on it. – He answered, looking at her hands.

Everyone went silent for a few seconds.

– You know… That man who died was actually the dad of Eclipse’s friend. – Their mother stated.

Leo exchanged looks with Eclipse, in shock. Even their dad.

– Woah… I wasn’t expecting that… – He looked down. – Poor girl… – Muttering.

– Don’t worry… She’ll get over it soon. – Eclipse, drying her hands with a hint of nervousness.

“I hope…” She thought.

Dracarus had arrived at the mansion to have dinner. Khaos and Han were already at the table, waiting for him.

– I guess you've been busy all day. – The Goddess said, as she poured wine on their glasses.

– Not really, I was just wandering through the city all day. – Dracarus replied.

– Oh, I see… I went to the police department earlier. – Khaos stated.

– Hm? Do you have any news of the latest case? – Han asked, curiously.

– Yes. I was going to tell you both about it. Well, it turns out they found out about the hidden organisation against the Lorien’s Order which the man was involved in, and they’re located in the southeast district of Portus.

– Well, it’s not that surprising. We all know about how they always manage to create a new one in the same place as usual. – Han sighed, as he crossed his arms.

– Yeah, he’s right. We just need to take them down as usual, and ensure the safety of citizens. – Dracarus added.

– Indeed… And with this new mysterious executioner, we might have some help. – Khaos jokingly said, before sipping a glass.

– Oh, since you mentioned it, do you have any new information regarding him? – Han asked.

– Not really, however… – She took out something from the void. It was that paper again. – I asked the cops about this but none of them recognised nor seemed to be lying. Which is strange because the only conclusion I had was that any of them was the culprit… – She exchanged glances with Dracarus. – Unless someone is leaking the secret information.

She gave the hideous paper back to Dracarus, the one who found it.

– So… You’re basically saying any of them is related to the murderer and passing the wanted list to them? – Dracarus pointed out.

– Exactly.

– Wait… But they know damn well the consequences of deceiving the law and the supreme authority… Why would they do that? – Han questioned, looking at Khaos.

– Putting it that way… They could’ve been threatened to do so.

– By who though? They’re the strongest policemen we have. – Han confusedly asked.

– There’s an easy answer to that… Someone stronger than them. Who isn’t afraid of the laws and the supreme authority, also known as us three. – Khaos simplified, with a serious tone.

They had reached a troublesome conclusion. Someone powerful enough to not fear them.

After dinner, Dracarus went to his room. He couldn’t get this person from his mind. “Could it really be the same person from the other cases? Or an alibi?”

He kept on looking at the paper while distractedly playing with the lighter he had near his bed. He was trying to get another conclusion from this.

– The moon and its shadow … – He lit the paper on fire with the lighter. – I wonder what’s the reason or meaning behind this.
