In Ardonia City
Miles away, Marzell watched through his binoculars as the trucks crashed into the base walls and exploded. The headhunters, drawn by the chaos, were already swarming towards the breach. He heard the unsettling sound of thumping and running and turned to see a massive horde of headhunters approaching from the other direction.
Marzell commanded, his voice calm despite the dire situation.
Marzell - Okay boys, roll out.
One of his boys cut the power supply to the base from the hydropower plant, plunging the area into darkness. The others mounted their bikes and invaded the base before the headhunters could swarm in.
In Ardonia Military Base
Soldiers notice the sudden darkness on the base, the only light coming, are from the fires caused by the explosions. Victor saw the headlights of the invading bikes and shouted,
Victor - Gear up, guys! We have visitors to take care of.
As the soldiers moved to equip themselves, Sofia heard the unmistakable sound of headhunters approaching. Her face went pale, and she looked around in panic.
Sofia - They're coming! (her voice trembling) they are coming, THEY ALL ARE!!!
Command Station
June (Calling the soldiers on duty) - Everyone, get ready.
As the Headhunters entered, the base was plunged into chaos. Soldiers scrambled to defend themselves, the flickering light of the fires casting eerie shadows on the walls. The sound of gunfire and explosions filled the air as the invaders clashed with the defenders.
Mark, Hugo, and John ran through the hallways, their hearts pounding. They could hear the roar of Darius in his Volkermord form, a terrifying reminder of the enemy they now faced.
Mark - We need to get to the armory, We can't let him overrun us!
John - Go, Get ready, I’m Going forward, this is going to be a long night.
Hugo nodded, his face grim. Mark and Hugo sprinted towards the armory. The scene shifts as the walls shook with the impact of another explosion. The headhunters were closing in, their inhuman screeches echoing through the base.
On the battlefield
Soldiers took up defensive positions, their eyes scanning the horizon as the horde of headhunters surged forward.
June stood at the front, her voice cutting through the chaos.
June - Open fire! Hold your positions! Don’t let them get inside!
The soldiers obeyed, their assault rifles barking as they unleashed a storm of bullets at the incoming headhunters. The first wave of creatures fell, their bodies riddled with holes, but more kept coming, a seemingly endless tide of death. June shouted, her voice hoarse with strain.
June - Keep firing! We can’t let them get inside anymore!
But the headhunters were relentless. One of the massive creatures leaped onto the watchtower, smashing through the structure with terrifying strength. Soldiers inside screamed as they were thrown from the wreckage, their bodies breaking upon impact with the ground.
Below, the battle was a brutal dance of survival. A soldier named Davis fired his rifle, the muzzle flashing with each shot. He managed to take down two headhunters before a third pounced on him, its claws sinking into his flesh. He screamed as the creature bit into his neck, tearing him apart.
Nearby, another soldier, Carter, fought desperately, his combat knife slashing at a headhunter’s throat. The creature gurgled and fell, but Carter didn’t have time to celebrate his victory. Another headhunter tackled him, its powerful jaws snapping shut around his skull, cracking it open like a melon. June called out, her own weapon blazing.
June - Stay together! We can’t let them divide us!
But the headhunters were too strong. They ripped through the soldiers’ lines, their claws and teeth rending flesh and bone. One headhunter grabbed a soldier by the leg and flung him across the battlefield, his body smashing into a wall with a sickening crunch.
Chuck (In fear) - No, It can’t be my last Day.
Maddison - It won’t be.
As the soldiers began to falter, reinforcements arrived. Soldiers in Exoz suits, their armored forms gleaming in the firelight, charged into the fray. Battle vehicles rolled forward, their mounted guns blazing as they cut down the headhunters with heavy firepower. Cornelia, in her Exoz suit, led the charge.
Cornelia - Push them back! Don’t give them an inch!
The tide of the battle began to turn. The headhunters, once overwhelming in their ferocity, started to fall back under the relentless assault of the Exoz soldiers and battle vehicles. The soldiers fought with renewed vigor, their spirits lifted by the arrival of their heavily armed comrades.
But just as victory seemed within reach, a rocket streaked through the air and slammed into one of the hangars where the army vehicles were parked. The explosion was massive, a ball of fire that consumed everything in its path. Soldiers were thrown to the ground by the blast, the shockwave rattling their bones.
Chuck turned to see the hangar engulfed in flames.
Chuck - What the hell was that?!
One of Marzell’s boys, on his bike, lowered the rocket launcher with a smirk. Another approached him, anger etched on his face.
Boy 2 - Berny, Our mission was to acquire the weapons and vehicles, not destroy them!
Boy 1 (shrugged) - Collateral damage.
The soldiers on the battlefield regrouped, determined to hold their ground despite the setback. June, her face smeared with dirt and blood, rallied her troops.
June - Hold the line! We’re not done yet!
Despite a heavy blow in the first few minutes of the battle, the soldiers dug in, their resolve hardening as they faced the oncoming headhunters.
In the Armory
Victor and the others sprinted towards the armory in their uniforms. The sound of distant gunfire and the roars of headhunters filled the air, a constant reminder of the chaos outside. As they reached the armory door, Victor barked out his command.
Victor (In urgency) - Everyone, hurry and take whatever you need!
Inside the armory, soldiers were already gearing up, grabbing weapons and ammunition. A soldier turned to Victor, worry etched on his face.
Soldier - The Exoz suits are in short supply. We can’t all have one.
Victor (cursed under his breath) - Dammit, the Exoz are still in the testing phase. How could I forget?
Arthur, standing nearby, intervened with a reassuring tone.
Arthur - Don’t worry, we can manage. We have other weapons as well.
Victor nodded, a plan forming in his mind.
Victor - Right. Whoever can fight on the forefront, take the Exoz. The rest of you, your only job is to cover those wearing the suits.
Lana stepped forward, determination in her eyes.
Lana - I’ll be on the forefront.
Samuel grabbed her arm, his voice tinged with concern.
Samuel - You don’t need to rush into this, Lana.
Lana (pulled away, her voice louder) - Emma is in the hospital. She needs my protection.
Samuel - Guess there’s no stopping you.
They all get ready for the battle. As Mark and Hugo entered the armory, Arthur called out to them.
Arthur - Glad you guys made it. Mark, you’re on the forefront.
Mark - Right.
Arthur - Hugo, you’ll be in the cover team.
Hugo shook his head, his expression resolute.
Hugo - No, I have to be on the forefront.
Victor frowned, confusion and frustration mixing in his features.
Victor - Why so?
Hugo - Things are going to get more messed up from what they look right now. Mark and I know the gravity of the situation, so it’s better for me to be at the forefront.
Mark - Hugo, I can handle that bastard myself.
Hugo - No, you can’t. You have muscles; I have brains. He has both.
Victor’s patience snapped.
Victor - the fuck are you guys talking about? Just wear the Exoz and get the hell out on the battlefield! They need our help.
Mark and Hugo exchanged a quick glance, understanding passing between them. They grabbed their Exoz suits and began to suit up, their movements quick and practiced. Mark looks at Captain Dutch’s power gloves.
As they prepare, Victor takes a deep breath, his mind racing with the responsibility of leading these men and women into a hellish battle.
Victor - Alright, everyone, this is it. We hold the line. We protect the base and everyone inside. No matter what.
Lana secured her Exoz suit and hefted her weapon, her eyes blazing with determination.
Lana - Let’s go kill those animals.
In the Tank hanger
The tank hangar was a flurry of activity as soldiers prepared for providing battlepower using tanks. Marzell’s boys slipped in, guns at the ready.
Cillian (One of the boys) - Open fire!
Gunfire erupted, cutting down the soldiers in a hail of bullets. Chaos ensued as soldiers scrambled for cover, but the surprise attack was too swift.
As the last of the soldiers fell, Cillian turned to his team.
Cillian - Everyone attached the auto-steer to those tanks. We need them under our control.
The boys moved quickly, attaching the sleek devices to the tanks. The auto-steer, a marvel of Pete’s ingenuity, clamped onto the tank’s controls, their LEDs blinking to life. One of the boys, Benny, finished his task and glanced up.
Benny - We’re good here, Cillian.
Just then, more soldiers appeared at the entrance of the hangar, their guns drawn. One of Marzell’s boys reacted instantly.
Soldier - Everyone on your knees!
He barked, aiming his rifle at the approaching soldiers. Pete, from a secure location, activated the tanks remotely. One of the tanks swiveled its turret toward the entrance and fired a rocket. The explosion was deafening, obliterating the soldiers and sealing the entrance with debris.
One of the Boys - That kid has a fuckin’ sharp mind.
Cillian (nodded) - Right, but we shouldn’t rely on him alone. Get two tanks and some of the boys to the armory. Kill anyone in there and grab those weapons.
Boys in Unison - Right.
Two tanks roared to life, their engines growling as they broke through the walls of the base. The tanks rumbled toward the armory, crushing debris under their treads. The remaining boys get into the tanks to pave the way for their exit from the battlefield.
On the Runway
On the battlefield, June and her team were holding the line against the headhunters, their guns blazing. June Jumps on an armored vehicle from the top of a building and takes hold of the machine gun attached to it.
June - Hey! Ram those fuckers with the truck.
Driver - Right.
The Driver rev the vehicle at full speed, and June fires the machine gun on a front coming horde. She continues to fire until she breaks the horde's formation.
June - Alright.
June looks on the other side. A headhunter leaps onto a soldier and tears him apart with its claws. Blood sprayed as the soldier screamed, his life ending in a grisly instant. June commands the driver.
June - Alright soldier, get ready for another round.
As the soldier revs the engine, A jacked up headhunter hits the vehicle from the side and the vehicle flips sideways. June gets out of the vehicle to see the status of the field. Another headhunter, its eyes glowing with savage hunger, pounced on a group of soldiers. It ripped through them, bones snapping and flesh tearing as it butchered its way forward. June looking at the massacre thinks.
June - At this rate, there won’t be anyone of us alive, we need to regroup. (She commands) Everyone! fall back.
No response came through, June realized that her comms were broken.
June - Fuck.
June sees the truck being ripped apart, She rolls and sees a headhunter. June shoots the headhunter but the headhunter dodges it by taking it all in his hand. June looks on the battlefield upside down,
The battlefield was a nightmarish blend of human and headhunter brutality.
In the midst of this carnage, she accepts her death.
