To the Exoz service room
Hugo, running through the hallway to the Exoz servicing room, glanced out the window to see smoke rising from the runway.
Hugo - Oh boy… things are really getting out of hand.
He saw Samuel standing by the door of the S-vault.
Hugo - What are you doing here?
Samuel - Hugo, thank God you’re here… That blue giant out there, we need to contain him, with the RCP….. June’s orders.
Hugo nodded in agreement.
On the Runway
John, all covered in blood, emerged from the smoke, shaking his head.
John - Who is Pete? …..Should’ve asked him before I killed him.
He turned to see Mark and Liam confronting Darius, the massive blue figure looming over them. Liam, using his tentacles, throws a nearby vehicle on Darius, Darius punches it making it shatter in pieces. Oil all spilled around him.
Darius, his arms bristling with black tentacles, swung a powerful punch towards Mark. Mark deftly dodged the attack, thrusters on his Exoz suit firing to propel him out of harm’s way.
Mark - Gotta close the gap,
He muttered to himself, activating his thrusters again. He hurled a grenade at Darius and fell back, the black tentacles extending to tie Darius up. The grenade exploded, fire and smoke engulfing Darius. As the flames dissipated, Mark’s heart sank; Darius stood unscathed, his eyes blazing with fury.
Another tentacle coiled around Darius’s arm. He turned, yanking the tentacle, and hurled Liam at Mark. The impact sent both of them sprawling to the ground. They quickly regained their footing, standing side by side.
Mark - Whoever you are, after this, I’m taking you down too.
Liam - Don't get too confident. Have you looked at him?
Mark’s eyes widened in recognition.
Mark - The fuck? Liam, is that you?
Liam - Yeah. Long story, no time to explain.
Mark - Like hell I’m asking.
They both turned their attention back to Darius, who was standing amid the flames, looking more menacing than ever.
Liam - I go left. You take the right.
Mark - Got it.
They charged towards Darius. Darius swung a massive left punch at Liam.
Liam - Damn…
Liam, ducks and slides to get behind Darius. But Darius was too quick. He grabbed Liam by the neck with his right arm and smashed him into the ground.
Mark jumped to kick Darius, but Darius caught his leg with his left hand. He stood, planting his foot on Liam’s chest, and swung Mark into Liam. They both hit the ground hard. Darius’s fist crackled with lightning as he prepared to punch Mark.
Liam, struggling, used his tentacles to form a cocoon-like shield around both of them. Darius’s fist hammered down on the shield, sending shockwaves through the ground.
Liam - I can't hold it much longer!
He shouted, straining to maintain the shield.
Darius, with maximum effort, launched another punch at the shield. Energy burst from the impact, and the shield began to tear. Just as it was about to tear down, Darius raised his fist for one final blow. Suddenly, a blade glowing with energy deeply cuts his raised arm.
In the same moment, the tentacles unfurled, and Mark fired a mobile cannon at Darius, sending him flying.
Liam and Mark got to their feet.
Liam - It's good that I have weapons stored in me, right?
John approached, the blade reattaching to his wrist. He looked at Liam’s Volkermord form in astonishment.
John - What is this?
Mark - He’s one of us, Captain.
John - Yeah, I’m not questioning anything. All the help we get here is less than what we need.
Liam - So how long do we need to hold him?
Mark took a moment to think. John’s eyes scanned the battlefield as Darius struggled to his feet in the distance.
John - We hold him as long as it takes.
As they look at Darius’s hands regrow, they all position themselves to fight a 1 vs 3 battle.
Exoz service room
Hugo hurriedly attached the energy extractor to one of the plates of the Retractable Containment Pods. His hands worked swiftly, guided by the pressure of the moment. Samuel, watching him with a mix of curiosity and skepticism, finally spoke up.
Samuel - What are you doing?
Hugo - Well, the idea is that Darius is like a battery that holds the same energy used in our Exoz and other weapons. So, the energy extractor will absorb all his energy. Originally, I planned to attach the extractor directly to his body. But now that I have these plates, I'm attaching them to the plate, then we just need to shoot it towards him.
Hugo finished attaching the first extractor and stood up, brushing off his hands.
Hugo - The plates will contain him, and the extractor will absorb his energy.
Samuel frowned, his mind racing with calculations.
Samuel - Yeah, but do you think only one extractor will be enough for that giant?
Hugo paused, recalculating in his mind.
Hugo - Right, we shouldn’t leave any loose ends. Here, help me attach the extractors to all the plates.
Samuel smirked, sitting down to help Hugo.
Samuel - You’re a genius, Hugo, but not of the caliber I imagined. From now on, I’ll call you Miscalculator.
Hugo shot him a look of mock annoyance.
Hugo - There's no need for that.
On the Runway
John launched himself into the air. twisting his body with precision ,he swung both of his legs in a rapid succession of kicks, striking Darius's legs, chest, and face in a blur of motion. As he twisted in mid-air, he aimed another kick with his left leg, but Darius managed to dodge it, his eyes blazing with fury.
Liam, seizing the opportunity, approached Darius from behind. Wrapping his arms around Darius's waist, he lifted the massive figure off the ground. Mark, sprinting
forward, delivered a powerful kick to Darius's face, forcing his head to slam into the concrete below.
With a grunt, Liam pulled Darius by the legs, his tentacles whipping around to assist. He swung Darius with all his might, hurling him into the side of the terminal building. The structure shuddered upon impact, but John was already in motion. Engaging his thrusters, he rocketed forward at breakneck speed.
John's fist connected with Darius in mid-air, the force of the punch sending shockwaves through the terminal. The impact caused a portion of the building to collapse, debris raining down around them. Darius staggered to his feet, hand on his head, trying to regain his bearings.
Liam was relentless. He closed in, landing punch after punch on Darius's face. Each blow drove Darius back, his steps faltering. Desperate, Darius caught one of Liam's punches and retaliated with a devastating blow to Liam's jaw, sending him sprawling.
But as Liam was thrown, John and Mark moved in perfect sync. They charged at Darius, fists raised. With a coordinated effort, they delivered a simultaneous punch to Darius's chest, the force of which sent him skidding across the terminal floor.
John and Mark didn't relent. John engaged his thrusters again, propelling himself forward with a series of rapid punches, each one landing with precision and power. Mark followed suit, delivering swift, calculated kicks that targeted Darius's weak spots.
Darius, battered, tried to mount a defense, but the onslaught was relentless. Liam, recovering from the blow, joined the fray once more. His tentacles wrapped around Darius's limbs, holding him in place as John and Mark continued their assault.
John - Keep him steady, Liam!
Liam - On it!
With Darius restrained, Mark delivered a powerful roundhouse kick to Darius's temple. John followed up with a crushing uppercut that lifted Darius off his feet.
John - End of the line, Darius!
With a final, earth-shaking punch, John sent Darius crashing through the remaining wall of the terminal building. Darius was thrown on the other side of the battlefield.
Mark - We got him?
Liam - Yeah. He's down. For now.
John - It’s far from over
As the dust settled, the trio stood ready, their eyes locked on the fallen form of Darius amidst the rubble.
In the Battlefield
Darius gets up and spits his broken tooth out his mouth. Soldiers and Boys fighting on the battlefield stop and start looking at Darius. With this pause in battle the headhunters get an upper hand on the soldier and the boys, and start killing them.
Liam - All of that for what? A broken tooth?
John - The day just doesn't feel real to me anymore….. (sighs) C’mon, one more round.
Rain began to pour down, heavy drops splattering against the debris-strewn ground.
Soldier - It’s raining again,
Mark, Liam, and John sprinted toward Darius, their breaths coming in sharp gasps. Suddenly, Mark noticed a strange glow emanating from Darius's mouth.
Mark - His mouth... it's glowing.
Liam - The fuck?
Mark - An energy breath?
John's eyes widened in realization.
John (commands) - Everyone fall back!
Darius unleashed a torrent of energy from his mouth, the beam slicing through buildings and vaporizing any human it touched. The trio dived for cover as the beam swept across the area, leaving a path of destruction in its wake. Mark shouted to the others.
Mark - Scatter and save anyone you can!
Liam dodged to the side, rolling behind a chunk of concrete. Mark zigzagged through the chaos, pulling soldiers out of the beam's path. John sprinted towards a group of soldiers, pushing them to safety just as the beam scorched the ground they had been standing on.
The beam's intensity grew, and its erratic path made it even deadlier. Lana, Arthur, and Victor, who were further away, saw the explosions and chaos near the terminal building.
Arthur - What is happening?
Victor (Looking at the approaching beam) - Watch out!
Victor shoved Arthur out of the beam's line of fire. Lana narrowly avoided the beam, diving to the ground.
Lana - This is insane!
The blue beam of death grew larger and more destructive, cutting through everything in its path.
Pete's voice crackled over their comms.
Pete - Everyone, get out of there! Mission is over, it's Major's orders.
Amidst the chaos, the boys scrambled into any vehicle they could find, racing to escape the base. The beam continued to wreak havoc, killing soldiers, headhunters, and anyone else in its path. Liam and Marks rejoin with other soldiers at top of a far away hanger.
Liam - We have to kill him!
Mark - No!
Liam - Then tell me how to stop him!
Mark's face contorted with dread. He couldn't think of a way out.
