There was a commotion in the forest, and birds flew here and there, frightened by the glow of that strange red light, which slowly dimmed until it disappeared completely, revealing Ethan lying on the ground, sleeping peacefully.
The Minotaur took a step back, surprised, then said in a frightened voice:
"Oh, my God... I killed him!"
The Minotaur grabbed Ethan's shoulders and lifted him into the air, saying through tears:
"Ethan! Come back to life, I made a mistake! I didn't mean to... I promise I won't bother you again!"
Suddenly, Ethan snorted at him in a funny way, causing the minotaur to calmly put him down, then walked over to a tree and sat down behind it, trying to hide his embarrassment. At that moment, the crickets became louder and the noise of life in the forest subsided, announcing the rise of the moon in the sky.
In the morning
the Minotaur woke up with a yawn to the clatter of tools Ethan was collecting. He pushed himself up with a yawn, then walked over to Ethan and said in a tired voice:
"So... How do you feel now?"
Ethan replied enthusiastically:
"I feel refreshed! But I don't think my bag is going to be okay..."
Ethan's bag was suffering a lot due to his hard training, as he would put heavy weights in it while training. He looked at it sadly and said:
"My poor bag... Don't worry, I'll always remember you!"
A few minutes passed, then Ethan sighed:
"Whooo... Finally! Everything is ready!"
He lifted his bag, which looked like it would collapse at any moment, but the Minotaur stared at him quizzically before saying:
"Wait, you're going shirtless like that to the city?"
Ethan replied sarcastically:
"I had my shirt on, but it was too small for me... I think it ripped as soon as I put my arm in it."
Suddenly, the Minotaur hit him over the head angrily, saying:
"Idiot! And you're still giving me that look?"
Ethan clutched his head in pain, then ran through the forest laughing:
"Hahaha! You won't catch me, you cowardly asshole!"
The two fought through the forest, knocking down several trees due to the intensity of the fight, before Ethan finally took off for the city, making a lot of noise as he passed by.
Ethan strode down the center of the road, taking in the streets he had missed, alley by alley, street by street. People were following him with wondering glances, but that didn't stop him from heading straight to his house.
He stood in front of the door, reflecting on the memories he had of this place... He sighed and opened the door. He sighed and opened the door, only to find silence. He put his bag down and quietly closed the door, then began to touch the walls and furniture that he had almost forgotten what it looked and smelled like.
He suddenly slapped his forehead and said firmly:
"Hmmm, Ethan, focus! You have to get to school quickly today!"
He ran to the bathroom, turned on the shower, and stood under it, brushing his teeth at the same time. Suddenly, he screamed:
"Oooh! I forgot the towel!"
He quickly got out and ran to his room to dry off, but to his surprise, he grabbed one of his shirts and said:
"What? How did this happen? I only bought these clothes a month ago!"
Most of his clothes were too small for him or ripped as soon as he put them on because of his strength. He stood for a moment thinking, then said:
"I found it!"
He headed to his parents' room and silently opened the door. He moved into the room slowly, nostalgia filling his heart. He opened the closet and pulled out some uniforms, then held them in his hands before smiling and saying:
"Dad... I'll put these clothes to good use."
He dressed quickly and rushed to the door, but stopped suddenly with concern, then struck his forehead and said:
"Oh! How did I forget my tools?"
He opened a closet in the middle of the house, pulled out a medium-sized backpack, ran at breakneck speed to his room to collect his tools, and dashed out of the house.
Ethan's speed outpaced any car that passed by, and he looked like a ghost, disappearing from people's sight in a flash. He finally reached the school's entrance, took a deep breath, straightened himself up, and dusted off his pants before stepping inside.
All the students were looking at him, trying to hide their whispers:
"Who is this handsome guy?"
"Is he a transfer student?"
"His clothes look expensive... Is he rich?"
Ethan tried to ignore the looks, but he couldn't hide his confusion, so he kept a straight face and pushed open the school door to enter.
But what he saw as soon as he walked in made his blood boil...
His best friend, Oliver, was being beaten up by Lucas and James, while Monica was standing next to them, filming the scene and laughing:
"Hahaha! What a weakling! If you post this video, he'll go viral!"
But she didn't realize that Ethan was standing right behind her.
He said in a voice that made everyone fall silent and look at him in horror:
"Hey... Hey."
He grabbed Monica's phone and smashed it with his hand like it was nothing, and she stepped back, whispering to herself:
"m-wait... is that him...?"
Lucas and James opened their mouths in horror, as if they were looking at a huge imaginary monster.
Ethan effortlessly pushed them away, then knelt beside Oliver, trying to wake him up. Seconds later, Oliver moved his arm in pain, and Ethan smiled and patted him on the shoulder:
"Don't worry, brother... You'll be fine."
He carried him on his back to the nurse, but paused for a moment and stared at James with a dry look, saying:
"Don't worry... You'll be next in line after your brother tomorrow."
