After an emotional night, Ethan was taken to the villa again, clutching that photo, his face completely expressionless. He was sitting in the middle of that warehouse again, with everyone around him, staring at him with sad looks, except for Ivan, who was sitting on a box far away from them, scrolling through his phone.
Leon hesitated a bit, then said, trying to bring some comfort to Ethan's heart:
"Don't worry buddy, this place will be your new home, and if you need anything, just ask the servants and they will fulfill your request."
There was silence in the room, only to be interrupted by Ivan's voice from behind:
"That's enough... I've changed my mind."
He got off the box, heading towards his companions, his eyes still fixed on the screen of his phone. When he stood in front of Ethan, he turned off the phone, put it in his pocket, and then raised his head towards everyone saying:
"This kid is weak... How will we be able to accept him with us?"
Everyone's expressions changed to shock, and Leon said with a surprised face:
"Evan! What are you talking about?"
Ivan replied coldly:
"If this kid is losing control of himself every time his emotions get mixed up, we don't need him."
Zach's face flared with anger, and he snapped back:
"What's wrong with you, man? Can't you see he lost his mom and his house in one day? You know what? You're just a selfish loser!"
The place was in chaos, while Evan remained completely calm, staring at his phone again, unconcerned. Amidst all the commotion, Ethan quietly got up and left the place unnoticed.
As he exited the mansion, he found a huge garden covered with green grass in front of him. He stood in front of a pillar and leaned against it, gazing at the breathtaking view in front of him. His mind was devoid of thoughts, unable to comprehend all the painful events of the previous day. In that moment, he wished it was all just a nightmare from which he would soon wake up, but... He knew very well that life doesn't work that way.
Ethan sighed and lifted his head towards the sky, only to find himself staring at an enchanting landscape; dusk, where the golden rays of the sun intertwine with the darkness of the night, and the stars are shining, while the sound of the cool breeze with its soft melody is heard, ruffling Ethan's hair as if to comfort him.
He remained there in silence, hearing only the sound of water sprinklers in the distance...
Minutes later, he felt a hand on his shoulder and turned around to see who it was, only to find that it was Julia.
She smiled and said:
"I know... They're annoying, I can't stand their petty arguments either."
The silence returned, and as the wind played its beautiful melodies, Julia moved closer to him, her smile disappearing as she said in a warm voice:
"I know how you feel right now... To feel like everything is against you."
Then she stood in front of him, smiling again:
"Evan is just trying to push you to face your weakness... Ethan, we're all on your side."
Ethan raised his head, staring at her smiling face, and his eyes met hers... In that moment, he felt like his heart was being squeezed, a sensation he had never experienced before in his life. Her words planted a seed of hope within him... But...
Suddenly, blood flew into the air!
Ethan's eyes turned from hope to horror, and Julia screamed in pain. Her arm had been pierced by an icy spear, and her blood was splattered all over the ground!
Ethan rushed towards her, picked her up quickly, and ran through the garden, but suddenly, he felt a tremendous force pushing him into the air! He fell to the ground violently, his mind still unable to comprehend what was happening.
Crazy laughter came from nearby:
"Huh, that was too easy! I don't understand why the boss is worried about this weak kid!"
The laughing person slowly approached Ethan, his eyes staring at Julia in his arms:
"Hmm... Queen of the Desert? I didn't know she had a boyfriend! Anyway, we were told to bring only you, so you'll be saying goodbye to your friend here."
Hearing these words, Ethan jumped away from him, heading towards the villa building. He gently placed the unconscious Julia next to the building, then turned around, fists in the air, ready to fight.
The man emerged from the darkness, laughing in the same strange way, and now Ethan could see his features clearly; long blonde hair, tall stature, lean body, leather jacket and red glasses. The man smiled and said:
"There you are, buddy... Do you think I came alone? Let me show you my big, gorgeous friend!"
At that moment, a huge object fell from the sky, causing a terrifying earthquake!
Ethan felt a sense of terror run through his body as he stared at the huge monster that stood in front of him...
"What's that?!"
