The Phanin Boy

Chapter 4: Attack of the Eagles

Chapter 4: Attack of the Eagles

Apr 03, 2025

Murund had taken the blood of Adir in excitement to his hidden laboratory, a place of horrors
where countless boys were imprisoned in crystal-clear tubes. Their dismembered limbs
floated in eerie preservation, remnants of past failures. Two of his evil scientists, both
declared terrorists by the government for their gruesome experiments and mass murders,
worked tirelessly alongside him. Their goal was simple yet horrifying: to destroy the world in
the name of revenge.
Murund’s eyes gleamed with dark triumph as he held the vial of blood high. “We will succeed
this time! I have finally found the missing element that has been halting our progress.”
Scientist 1, an aged man with deep scars from his own twisted experiments, stepped forward.
“What is it? Did you finally discover the chemical that can transform humans into monsters,
allowing them to wield both human and animal powers? Can this make them ultra-strong
beyond human limitations?”
Murund smirked. “Yes, I have.”
The scientists rushed toward him, eager to see the miracle substance. But as soon as their
eyes fell on the vial, their excitement wavered. “Blood? Are you mocking us?”
Murund’s smirk deepened. “This is no ordinary blood.”
Scientist 2 squinted in curiosity. “Then what is it?”
Murund’s voice dropped to a sinister whisper. “It’s the blood of the Snake Boy.”
The scientists' eyes widened, their expressions shifting from disbelief to pure exhilaration.
“How did you get it?” one of them asked, his hands trembling with anticipation.
Murund recounted the story, his tone laced with satisfaction. “With this, our dreams will
finally become reality.”
Wasting no time, the three descended into the depths of the lab. The facility buzzed with the
sounds of boiling chemicals, hissing vapors, and the occasional muffled screams of test
subjects. Glass containers of glowing liquids lined the walls, casting an eerie light across the
room.
Scientist 1 carefully prepared a volatile solution. “Now, let’s add the blood and witness its
power.”
Murund poured a few drops into the concoction. The three leaned in with held breath—but
nothing happened. The excitement in the room drained instantly.
Scientist 2 scoffed. “Are you sure this is the right blood? Or did the little boy trick you?” He
smirked mockingly.
Murund’s face darkened. “Enough! Just ensure the formula is correct.”
Days turned into weeks as they tirelessly worked on the experiment, but every attempt ended
in failure. The once confident trio now faced the crushing weight of despair. They were down
to the last few drops of the precious blood—failure was not an option.
With no alternatives left, they prepared a final solution, adding rare and deadly components:
the wings, nails, and beak of an eagle. With a deep breath, Murund added the last drops of the
blood and released a gaseous substance into one of the test tubes containing a kidnapped boy.
A swirling mist of blue, red, and yellow filled the chamber. The room trembled as the test
tube began to crack. The scientists' faces lit up with wicked grins.
“We did it,” Murund whispered.
A deafening shatter rang through the lab as the glass burst apart. From the remnants emerged
a boy—no longer human. His back bore mighty eagle wings, his hands ended in razor-sharp
talons, and his jaw had transformed into a powerful beak.
The boy blinked, his golden eyes filled with confusion. “Who are you? Who am I? Where am
I?”
Murund stepped forward, his voice soothing yet sinister. “Welcome, my son. I am your
father.”
The boy frowned. “What is a father?”
Murund placed a hand on the boy’s shoulder. “The one who brought you into this world. And
now, you will help your father take revenge on those who wronged him.”
The boy tilted his head. “Revenge?”
Murund nodded, his gaze intense. “Yes. You will make the people suffer. Use your power to
make me happy.”
The boy’s expression hardened. “Okay, Father. I will.”
For weeks, Murund subjected the boy to brutal training, pushing him beyond human limits.
The boy’s power grew exponentially—he could tear through steel with his claws, fly at
blinding speeds, and his screams could shatter glass. He became the perfect weapon of
destruction.
Meanwhile, Adir was undergoing his own transformation. Determined to uncover his
potential, he trained in secret, testing the limits of his powers. By day, he lived as a normal
boy. But by night, he became a silent guardian, hunting down criminals and delivering justice
under the cover of darkness. His reputation grew, and the people began to whisper of a new
hero hidden behind a snake-shaped mask.
Crime rates plummeted, fear struck the hearts of evildoers, and the legend of the Snake Boy
spread across the city.
But in the shadows, Murund and his monstrous creation waited, ready to unleash chaos upon
the world.
A war was coming. And only one would survive.
Adir sat in the classroom, chatting with his friends about the new hero.
“Man, he’s so cool! His fighting skills are brilliant!” one student said excitedly.
Adir smirked inwardly. Yes, they are.
The teacher clapped their hands for attention. “Students, we have a new transfer joining us
today. His name is Garu. He will be your new classmate.”
The door creaked open, and a tall boy walked in. His piercing yellow eyes, golden hair, and
beak-like nose gave him an almost predatory appearance.
The class murmured. “Whoa, he looks dangerous but kinda handsome.”
The teacher gestured to an empty chair at the back. “Garu, you can sit there.”
As Garu passed by Adir, a strange sensation surged through both boys. Their instincts
screamed one word—danger. Goosebumps prickled their skin. It was as if they were destined
to fight.
The day moved on until the sports period arrived. The teacher asked, “Garu, would you like
to participate in the sprint?”
Garu nodded silently.
The race began. As soon as the whistle blew, Garu bolted forward with unnatural speed, as if
he were flying. The dust swirled behind him.
Adir’s eyes widened. No way… He’s not normal.
Determined, Adir tapped into his hidden power. Both boys ran at such speed that they became
a blur, invisible to the naked eye.
Garu smirked, whispering, “Ready to become prey, Snake Boy?” Then, in an instant, he
vanished across the finish line.
Adir skidded to a halt, his mind racing. How does he know who I am?
From the shadows of a distant building, Murund watched, grinning wickedly. “The town is
about to lose its hero,” he chuckled darkly.
That night, under Murund’s command, Garu unleashed chaos upon the sleeping city. His
piercing eagle cry echoed, summoning a monstrous flock of birds. Buildings crumbled, and
screams filled the night.
By morning, the city lay in ruins, a town of the dead.
Adir awoke, his head spinning. He looked out the window and gasped. “What… happened?
Why didn’t I sense this? My snake instincts should have warned me.”
His mind was blank, memories fragmented. Anger surged within him. He punched the
window, shattering it, glass shards embedding into his fist.
Then, a single thought pierced his mind. “Mom… Dad…”
He ran, screaming, “Mom! Dad!” But silence answered him.
The news flashed on the screen.
“Many injured, several dead. Survivors have been admitted to DH Hospital.”
Adir rushed toward the hospital, his heart pounding, his legs burning with every desperate
step. He stormed inside, grabbing the first doctor he saw. “Where are my parents?”
A distant sound of weeping caught his ear. He turned sharply, sprinting toward it.
“Mom!”
His mother turned, her face streaked with tears.
Adir grasped her arms. “Where’s Dad?”
She swallowed hard. “He… he’s in the ICU. They don’t know if they can save him.”
Adir felt his world shatter. His fists clenched, shaking with fury. If they die… I’ll kill them
all.
Hours passed in agonizing silence until a doctor finally emerged. “We’ve stabilized him, but
he’s unconscious. We don’t know when he’ll wake up.”
Tears welled in Adir’s eyes as he and his mother entered the ICU. His father lay motionless,
covered in bandages and wires.
Adir dropped to his knees beside him. “Please wake up, Dad. I’ll follow every rule you ever
taught me. Just… wake up.”
A sudden green glow emanated from his hands, spreading over his father’s body. The
machines beeped wildly. His father gasped, his eyes fluttering open. “Really?”
Adir choked out a laugh, hugging him tightly.
Doctors and nurses rushed in, eyes wide. “This… this is impossible. He’s completely
healed—like he was never injured.”
Later that night, Adir stood on a rooftop, mask in hand, watching the city. He could hear
distant cries for help.
His resolve hardened. He wouldn’t let this happen again.
But as he dashed toward a collapsing building, rescuing those trapped within, he saw a figure
standing above the wreckage—watching him. A smirk. A flash of golden eyes. And then, he
was gone.
Adir clenched his fists. Who was that?
The next few days passed in uneasy recovery. The city was rebuilding, healing.
