... Can you guys tell that I REALLY like drawing backgrounds? Well, in case if you didn't now you do bwahah.
I've ranted about how important they are to my style of storytelling plenty of times elsewhere, and this comic is so much about the world I have had in my head for so long that I just want to give it a lot of love too.
Do you like comics that have an emphasis on backgrounds and environment shots or is it not something that draws you to a story? There's no wrong answer, I just like hearing people's thoughts :)
((Also Kipcha in these pages has my heart and soul the woman you are, Kip.))
Ugh 😫 YOURE BACKGROUNDS ARE GORGEOUS!!!! I can only aspire to have such skills, and they're so interesting to dissect! Chefs kiss all the way around 🤌🙌
Echoes of Decay explores the interpersonal and societal effects of the Hollo god of fertility, Iukos, dying generations prior. Their once lively and powerful society now buckles as the curse rots the magic in their blood and the soil beneath their feet. Large swaths of land succumb to the necrotic magic as vile monsters make their homes within. The people of The Pact are desperate for answers, and some turn to forbidden beings for aid. The story follows Cas, Kipcha, and Ashai trying to navigate their lives in a land dominated by strife.
INTENDED FOR 18+ READERS
Echoes of Decay is a Dark Fantasy with a heavy lean on the natural macabre, folklore, and monsters. While dark, it is also intended to have its times of fun and character-driven dynamics.
This story is written through a queer lense, so while not an LGBTQ+ story specifically, it has queer themes and characters in the forefront.
