If anything, it became worse with each day. Blue would overwork himself for this tiny dark orb, but inside... it was much more than just darkness. Something was being born inside of it. Something big, something important, and something that Blue would want to treasure for his whole life.
Blue sits at his desk, staring directly into the core of the orb, wondering if it would ever do what he wanted it to do. But no, that wouldn't happen until much later, he has to remind himself.
Blue hurries over to Veronica's side of the spaceship, her room, immediately taking her hand and practically dragging him into his room.
"What are you doing?" Veronica asks, a bit panicked at the way Blue was holding so tightly onto her. "Don't tell me you have another project you want to show me..." she groans.
"Oh, but do I have news for you, Veronica!" Blue laughs giddily, continuing to lead Veronica through the bright corridors of the spaceship. "It is exactly what you think it is."
"No wonder you have dark circles under your eyes, Blue," Veronica comments.
The two reach Blue's workroom, Blue letting go of Veronica's hand and walking towards his creation on the desk.
"I introduce to you... my new project!" he says dramatically with a huge grin on his face. "Don't you just love it? I made it all by myself!"
Veronica stares at the thing with a slightly worried look. "Blue, what is that?" she questions, going to touch it but as soon as she even tries to reach her hand out for it, Blue smacks it out of the way.
"Don't touch it." Blue furrows his brows. "If you do, you'll risk the levels going out of balance."
Veronica looks at him with an even more concerned expression. "What levels? Don't tell me if just one thing goes wrong with this little thing, the whole spaceship is going to explode."
"Well..." Blue hesitates. "You could... say that?" He smiles awkwardly.
Veronica scoffs. "Are you serious? Tell me, Blue, what's going to happen if I touch it?"
Blue looks around the room nervously with his arms behind his back, not wanting to tell her the truth whatsoever. She would lose her mind if she found out the truth behind Blue's experiment. So, instead of telling the truth...
"I was just joking! It wouldn't blow up the ship or anything like that. Sorry," he giggles. "But don't touch it anyway. You'll ruin hours of work!"
Veronica crosses her arms and looks at Blue with skepticism, her eyes narrowed. "Alright, whatever you say."
To make something so out of this world, is it possible? Would you be able to produce something that impacted not only the world you live in, but the space that surrounds it? To come up with an idea so extreme, to even think about an idea so extreme, to try and execute and idea so extreme...
