Feeling alone with others around is a strange thing, to say the least. Every time Blue has a conversation with Veronica, all he can feel is someone staring at him. And that someone not being Veronica herself, but instead, an outsider. Perhaps it’s just him being paranoid, but he can’t get the feeling out of his head. He feels shivers going down his spine every single time there’s even the slightest pause in their conversation.
“Blue?” Veronica speaks carefully, “I can see you shivering, are you cold?”
Blue looks at Veronica with worried eyes and shakes his head. “No, it’s fine. I’m fine.” He continues staring off into space.
“Are you sure?” Veronica tries her best to inquire further.
“Yes. I’m fine. Must be the air conditioning.”
"I can turn it up if it’s too cold for-”
“No.”
That’s how most of their conversations went.
Constant bickering back and forth about useless things, Veronica being worried for Blue, and Blue not caring a single bit. He used to be much more energetic than this, what happened? He used to be the life of the party.
What exactly happened, for him to become so closed off like this? He looks lifeless and like he’s been to hell and back. His hair is all messed up and greasy, his clothes unkempt and dirty... He looks like he hasn’t slept in days... Weeks, even.
Blue and Veronica used to be the best of friends, but now, Veronica isn’t sure how she should feel about their relationship. Are they just co-workers? Acquaintances? Possibly.
The thought that their friendship has completely vanished has been eating away at Veronica’s brain, while it seems like Blue doesn’t even care that they’ve been separating more and more each day. He’s too focused on his work. Too focused on becoming greater. Too focused on himself.
To make something so out of this world, is it possible? Would you be able to produce something that impacted not only the world you live in, but the space that surrounds it? To come up with an idea so extreme, to even think about an idea so extreme, to try and execute and idea so extreme...
