'The Simulation Test is a process to pick out the best of the best from all groups and then giving them preferential treatment separating them from the rest of the candidates, in an ideal world this would not be considered good but this is not an ideal world, instead it's filled with flaws.'
Finishing gathering his thoughts, Ryo let out a sigh composing himself before he began to look around him.
Ryo saw that many of the candidates present had a somewhat arrogant look, while the rest were either confident or scared. Sometimes however, he noticed a few who had an expression similar to himself. A stoic one.
'Too many people here, how will they even choose from all of us? Besides that, what happens to those who 'don't' get selected by a squad? A normal soldier I assume? But aren't they just useless then... they either get stationed at some other planetary sector or somewhere else.'
Before Ryo could draw some sort of a conclusion the simulation hologram reappeared in front of him and everyone else as well.
[ First Selection Test: Will ]
Suddenly everyone's expressions took a turn as they all were taken aback by such a vague name for the test.
'Will? Will... I assume they'll place us in something which is extremely hard to deal with? But is... that all? I mean my assumption could be incorrect however, what kind of situation can they even place us in? The word Will itself has so many meanings how do they even expect for us to know? Wait, do they mean to test our adaptability like th- No that's wrong. But the test's details will be revealed before we are placed into the simulation?'
[Scenario will begin in: 5 minutes]
[ Time Limit: 1 Hour ]
One by one each detail about the scenario began to be revealed.
[Scenario:■■■■■■ ■■■■...
As the test began to be revealed Ryo's eyes were fixed at the display, his heartbeat became faster in anticipation while he was still trying to figure out what the test would be. Almost all those around him shared the same feeling as Ryo at that time except those who unfortunately trembled even before the test was revealed.
[Scenario:Each participant will be put in a separate simulation ■■■■■■ ■■ ]
[Scenario Clear Condition: ■■■■■■■■■■■■ ]
'What? Seriously? Is this how it's always going to be? Are they always going to give us such a vague description of the test? I thought it would be a scenario where they would test our will to fight or something, this is similar but it's more like testing our will to overcome fear.'
As the 5 minutes which were given before the test began passed, everyone present in the hall was agitated, worried about what it could even mean. What the test could even be.
[Scenario has now begun!]
[Activating Simulation!]
In an instant the grand hall which Ryo stood inside, the people who were there, disappeared. Almost as though he was teleported into an entirely different place.
A cemented floor laid beneath Ryo now, the grand and large wall disappeared and pristine white wall replaced them. The area too had reduced to a small room. In front of him was a table, made of out glass on top of it laid plates, empty plates. Besides them were glasses, three glasses, one of which was only filled halfway.
Behind Ryo was a small old sofa on which laid thousands of papers and pens. Most of the pages had something written on them, some however were empty while the rest contained doodles a child would draw.
Ryo began to grasp the situation as his eyes roamed around gathering as much information about the place he was in. Oddly however, Ryo did not feel the need to do so, he felt as though he knew this place.
Before he could make sense of it a voice came from behind startling him. As he turned around he saw someone, he couldn't make out this person's face however he knew who it was a face, one he had not seen in years. And heard a voice, one he couldn't recognise had also not heard in years.
"Ryo."
For the first time in years Ryo was beginning to panic, his fists loosened, he body trembled, his eyes became blurry as tears began flowing out and running around all over the place.
Ryo felt despair again.Ryo felt fear again.
[Scenario: Each participant will be put in a separate simulation with each scenario being based on the individual's fear.]
