Back at the village square…
The crowd was in full frenzy now. It's as if they are being forced by their own will to gather around the prince. Shouting. Rocks. Firewood torches clutched in trembling hands. Some villagers screamed for peace—but they were few. Others shouted warnings of a “false prince,” or a “monster spy,” tales planted subtly over months.
He stumbled back. “Please—I don’t want to hurt anyone!”
A bottle shattered near his feet. “GO BACK TO THE UNDERGROUND!” A Pitchfork jabbed forward. A man shouted: “That’s not a child—that’s a demon in disguise!”
His soul flickered—visibly—out of sheer panic. That glow, pure, soft, terrified.
Then—
Crack.
A sharp sound. Something struck the side of his head. A rock. He fell and his world spun.
As he hit the ground, eyes wide, the clouds above the village darkened—not from weather, but from the Plane itself reacting to what had just been done.
Back at the Castle…
The Queen teleported mid-hallway, slamming down at the castle gates in a burst of gold fire. Civilians nearby jumped back in alarm. “ASRIEL!!”
Her voice shook the very air. Guards scrambled behind her, tripping to keep pace as she sprinted towards the Garden… and found nothing but no signs nor traces of his Son or Chara. So she kept running. Past it. Down the ancient road toward the barrier field leading to the village.
She tries to reach for another teleport—tried— but it fails. “What?!” She felt it, a suppression. A magic damper — placed recently — lining the village’s edge. “No… no, no, no!!”
At the village…
The screaming behind didn’t faze her… All that blood, the crying… And worse, the final blow, his death. Chara walked slowly down a side path—unmarked, known only to her. Her expression was unreadable— just like that of Knane’s.
But her eyes… Her eyes gleamed like glass over a fire and from the shadow behind a broken well, a figure stepped out— tall, barely human-shaped, its body flickering in and out of reality. Two black holes where eyes might’ve been.
Mayhem.
He didn’t speak. He simply walked beside her, and as the wind blew across the hill, carrying the sound of Toriel’s scream across the valley— Chara finally whispered: “...It’s done.” and finally collapsing on the ground. Mayhem, wandered off away from the well and back to its original planned host in this Universe, Knane. The strongest Member of the Council of the Hallowed.
As Knane stands up from her chair, calmly as everyone in the hall panics, her shadow flickers and glitches as if something or someone has entered her. Her pupils switch from 2 different colors, but as she blinks, it's back to her natural sapphire eyes. She then calmly walks away from the meeting hall as every monster gathered towards the humans’ village to escort the Queen and the prince, Asriel. Who’s now lifeless in her very arms.
