Sitting on the roof, I look down at the zombies roaming the city. The broken buildings still stand after all this time. Lights flicker and the moans of zombies fill the silence. I take one last look around before realizing it's getting late and I have to get back to base soon.
I drop down and put my bandana on. Sneaking around dark alleys staying out of sight, I reach an abandoned convenience store. Looking around the store, I see multiple items: medicine, food, ect. I pick up a can of salmon on one of the shelves. I sigh, realizing it expired four years ago. Groaning, I place the can back down and continue on.
“Why, just why” I say in frustration.
I hear a clunk and immediately freeze. Shoot shoot shoot. I think to myself,
grabbing an arrow and loading it into my bow. Then, I see a figure in tattered clothes. They have messy, fluffy brown hair and striking gray eyes glaring straight at me. Thinking it’s another zombie, I aim, but then realize there's too much life within their eyes and are not pale enough for them to be dead. “Who are you?” I ask.
The mysterious figure does not answer. I lower my weapon, but they run.
“Wait!” I call out as they run.
After the shock, I chase after them. I run through the aisles but after a long chase I lose them. I'm not frustrated at the moment. The only thing I can think about is there are others?! I stand in shock, too frozen to think or move. Eventually I found the strength to move again. What just happened?! I think to myself as I quietly head back to base, traveling through dark alleys to avoid any zombies that are attracted to light. As soon as I reach, I'm greeted by Kali calling me for a meeting.
“Sage, hurry up, the meeting has started,” she says.
I quickly put my bow and arrow down and I head over to the meeting room. I sigh and sit down. Looking over, I see Dove sharpening her knives looking as creepy as ever. She's quiet and very intimidating in a psychotic way, but she hasn't killed anyone yet. But in all seriousness she's nice and sweet when she wants to be. Lunar walks in looking absolutely exhausted.
“I left you with Fae and Nexus for 30 minutes, what happened to you?” I ask.
Lunar just looks over and glares at me. I figure he's obviously mad that I left him to deal with Fae i, and I regret nothing. I laugh seeing how Lunar has bags under his eyes and his usually neat black hair is now messy. I quietly chuckle to myself and he glares at me even more.
