The rest of the day passes as usual, and I'm helping Indigo with the harvest when I notice something wrong with the crops.

“Hey Indigo! Come check this out” I called out to her.

“Holy heck.” Indigo says.

“The virus is spreading to the plants,” Indigo explains.

“Shoot, that's not good, this is our only source of food,” I say, panicked.

I get up hurriedly, head into base, and rush to Kali.

“Kali!” I exclaim.

She looks at me and says, “Can't it wait, Sage?”

“No.” I say firmly, “The crops are dying as the virus has infected them.” I say.

In shock, she freezes in place.

“I'll call a meeting, tell everyone” She says and dashes off.

Time skips later that day…

Everyone is in the meeting room. Kali, Indigo, and I are at the head explaining that the crops are currently getting infected and how in a couple of weeks we won't have any food.

Luna and Fae express their concerns and both ask, “What should we do?”

“We can't stay here anymore, we have to leave” I say.

Immediately, everyone erupts in an argument.

“Everyone, quiet!” Dove says, and it all goes silent.

I quickly thank Dove and continue on saying we have to leave because the virus is spreading to food and we won't be able to eat anything soon. 

“Guys, we can't stay,” I say pleading with them.

“I agree with Sage.” Indigo says.

Reluctantly, everyone agrees and we start packing. I go to my room and sit down, leaning against the door and sigh. This is the only place i've known as home after I left my old house when my family got infected. I pull out my necklace which my brother gave me before the apocalypse hit. I start packing the basics and extra pair of clothes, food, water, and my bow and arrows. I look at the room. This is gonna be my last night before I am forced to leave for the sake of our survival. Our only goal after this is to locate a safe haven and survive.
