We're all now sitting down taking a small break from the fight. I watch as the sun rises from the horizon signaling a new day coming.
Ugh…more walking.
My legs feel sore from walking so much everyday and I did not get any sleep last night. I regret that so much now but we have to get going.
“So, exactly where is this safe haven?” Fae asks.
“Well, we found an old map with a safe haven that was supposed to be built, though it's really far.” Kali says.
“How far exactly?” Atlas asks.
“On foot, it could take us months” I say.
“WHAT!?” they all say turning their heads towards me except for me and Kali who remains the same.
“We should've stayed then.” Nexus says, sighing.
As all of them start arguing, I notice that they are attracting the zombies and try to quiet them down.
“Guys, shut up. You'll attract the zombies” I say and they all quiet down.
The zombies are blind and stupid but they are attracted to noise and sound.
“Sorry, but I dont think this is a good idea,” Iris says.
“I agree with Iris,” Luna agrees.
“Guys, we would have died if we stayed there! Wouldn't you rather die trying to survive than just give up?” I say.
Everyone goes silent.
“That's exactly what I thought, now let's continue.” I say.
We continue walking for a couple more hours until night comes. I look up at the starry night and proceed to look back down at the map.
“We should rest now.” Iris suggests.
“Yea, I'm exhausted” Lunar adds.
We found a small patch in the trees. The clearing is small but it's comfy and it has a clear view of the stars.
“Im not sleeping in a tree again” Indigo says.
“So, you would much rather sleep on the floor, where the zombies can get you?” Kali questions
Indigo grumbles and everyone takes a branch and gets comfy up in the tree. I have my first watch so I go to the very top of the tree to watch for threats. The night goes pretty normally and the moans of zombies fill the air. I look up and I see the blood red moon. After the virus hit, the moon turned red. No one knows why, but it just did. I was thinking to myself when I saw a shadowy figure in the woods. I get up silently, making sure not to wake anyone. I climb down and I see the figure standing there. Then I see them, the same striking gray eyes I saw at the shop. It's him again.
