[Agilan stands in front of a mirror, staring at his reflection. Faint black veins pulse across his chest before fading. He adjusts his shirt, sighing deeply.]  

Agilan (inner monologue): 

“Back to college. Back to pretending everything’s fine. But nothing is fine.”  

[He grabs his bag and leaves for college.]

[Scene: College Campus – Day]

[The campus is lively with students chatting and moving between classes. Agilan walks in, his heightened senses picking up the buzz of conversation and laughter. He spots Vinod waving at him from a bench.]  

Vinod:

“Oi, Agilan! Long time no see, macha!”  

[Agilan forces a small smile and sits beside him.]  

Vinod:

“Man, you look like you’ve been through a war. Everything okay?”  

Agilan (shrugs):  

“Just… tired.”  

[Vinod claps him on the shoulder, trying to lighten the mood.]  

Vinod: 

“Cheer up, da! Life’s not all bad. Guess what? Shalini’s in our class this semester.”  

[Agilan stiffens at the mention of her name. His eyes drift toward the classroom building, where he sees Shalini  talking animatedly on the phone.]   

[Agilan clenches his fists, a pang of jealousy and frustration hitting him, but he says nothing. The class begins, and the scene shifts to after class.

[Scene: Classroom – Midday]

[Agilan sits at his desk, distracted. Shalini enters and sits a few rows ahead, still on the phone. She laughs softly, her voice carrying through the room. Agilan looks away, trying to focus on his notes.]  

Vinod (whispering): 

“She’s been dating that guy for a while now. Looks serious, too. Let it go, da.”  

[Agilan doesn’t respond, his fingers gripping his pen tightly.]

[Scene: College Grounds – Afternoon]  

[After class, Agilan walks out of the building, his mood sour. He spots a commotion nearby—a group of students being harassed by a taller, muscular guy. The bully, Karthik, smirks as he shoves a smaller student against a wall.]  

Karthik:  

“What’s the matter? Can’t even stand up for yourself? Pathetic.”  

[Agilan stops in his tracks, watching the scene unfold. Karthik notices him and grins mockingly.]  

Karthik:  

“Well, well, look who it is. Long time no see, Agilan. Guess we’re in the same department now. Lucky you.”  

[Agilan glares at Karthik but doesn’t respond. Karthik snickers and walks away, leaving the students to scramble off.]  

Vinod (catching up):  

“Karthik changed departments? Great. Just what we needed—another headache.”  

Agilan (quietly):  

“He’s the same as always.”

[Scene: Hospital – Evening] 

[Agilan visits his father in the hospital. The room is dimly lit, with the steady beeping of medical equipment filling the silence. His father lies unconscious, his frail body hooked up to machines.]  

[Agilan sits beside the bed, gripping his father’s hand gently.]  

Agilan (softly):  

“I’ll save you, Appa. No matter what it takes. I promise.”  

[He looks out the window, his eyes hard with determination.]  

[As he grips his father’s hand, the system interface suddenly appears before him.]

System:

[He pauses, his mind racing.]

Agilan:

[Scene: Agilan’s House – Night]

[Agilan returns home, his mind clouded with questions. He turns on the TV absentmindedly. A breaking news broadcast appears, showing devastating footage of homes destroyed and bodies littering the streets.]

News Anchor (voice trembling):
“Breaking news: Monsters have broken into residential areas in Chennai. At least 82 people have been reported dead, and authorities are struggling to contain the situation. Residents are advised to stay indoors and remain vigilant.”

[Agilan stares at the screen in horror, his resolve hardening. The system interface reappears before him, highlighting the quest details once more.]

Narration (Agilan’s thoughts):

“I can’t sit by and let more people die. I have to fight. Not just for Chennai, but for Dad… for everyone.”
