Ryo continued to walk behind Lux's father, following him.
Coming to a stop, he turned around to face Ryo and slowly opened his mouth to speak, "So, What do you want to see then?"
"The escape route."
Lux's father once again turned around and began walking before saying, "Ok then. Let's go."
"Yes."
They continued to walk without talking to each other, there was a peaceful silence with a hint of awkwardness in the air.
Neither side spoke a word.
Eventually, Lux's father came to stop, "This is the escape route."
In front them laid a massive dome shaped pathway, there was barely any visibility inside it, if not for the moonlight they wouldn't be able to see anything at all. However, Ryo found it to be unusual.
'This place doesn't make sense. Why is an escape tunnel so large? Even if the escape entrance can be broken down or sealed it's not as though it can't be countered. This place can fit in every single soldier from both sides, not good. It- '
Ryo came to notice something which made him puzzled, he began walking in a hurry and came to a stop in front of what seemed to be a door.
'A door? Why's this here? I should try opening it. No maybe I shouldn't I should ask first, I don't want to fail.'
Swallowing his thoughts Ryo asked to Lux's Father, "Where does this path lead to?"
"Ah, that's bait, it leads to a reinforced room with multiple explosives which will explode as soon as something is caught by the motion sensor." He spoke in a stoic tone.
"I see."
As Ryo examined the area, he came to notice something. It made him freeze in utter shock for a moment before he turned around to look at Lux's father and spoke with a sense of urgency, "Can you do me a favor?"
"And why would I do that?"
'What? Why he would do that? Can he not sen- Not he can, but why? It's the bet? Again?
sigh!
I need to figure out something, right now. I can't use my powers so then... how? Oh- but wait, would it work? Not like I have an option right now.'
As soon as Ryo finished forming his thoughts, he spoke faking a smile on his face.
"Should we leave then?"
As though Lux's father realised something he replied with an amused chuckle, "Sure."
The tunnel was once again empty now. Or was it?
As soon as they had left a quiet thud came from inside the tunnel.
thud~
It seemed as though someone had dropped down from a high ground, this sound was then followed with faint noise of breathing.
A whisper from inside the tunnel came, "They are escaping, I should inform the- "
Unfortunately for him however, He wasn't actually left alone inside the tunnel. A loud gust of wind shot past this unknown person almost piercing his gut and killing him.
'As I thought it's a mid grade soldier. I wouldn't have been able to defeat him, however he's an idiot.'
"You're stupid, immediately revealing your power reading after we leave?" Ryo spoke in a provocative voice.
Suddenly a gust of wind, a blade shot towards Ryo as well, it however did not land and was easily dodged by Ryo.
The unknown person spoke, "It shouldn't be possible!"
Dumbfounded Ryo asked what he meant, "Wha- "
Before he could finish asking the sword shot past Ryo again, barely missing he right shoulder. As Ryo realised that the man will not be listening or answering his questions he simply vanished into thin air, leaving the unknown person puzzled.
'Thankfully, My- Lord Third's room had two artifacts perfect for such a thing stored inside of it. A cloaking artifact which would allow me hide my presence for approximately 30 seconds and 6 Grade 7 Throw Knifes. I wonder if they knowingly placed such things in the simulation. Regardless, I should take full advantage of them.'
As the 30 Seconds passed it made the man go from being puzzled to becoming agitated. His eyes began walking around the entire tunnel scanning, looking for a sign of Ryo's presence. However, there was none.
shkr.
Until a loud piercing noise could be heard, followed by the noise of a body dropping on the floor, lifeless.
Sighing, Ryo muttered to himself in a low voice, "I did it."
However, this wasn't the end of the obstacles as a heavy pressure was now felt by Ryo, ready to crush him.
In a serious voice, Lux's father spoke, "You, who are you?"
