Celestia: The Dragons and Dreams

Chapter -24 The History

Chapter -24 The History

Ayami

Most of the leaders went back before nightfall. The rest were staying on guest house.

We haven’t got the opportunity to talk to grandma yet.

What bothers me more than what happened at the ritual is that drawing of princess Kayda I saw at the library.

Why was someone in the past looking like her? Why did the dragon ask her mother to name her after the royal betrayer? Is there a reason for it all? A connection?

Is reincarnation real?

My thoughts were interrupted by the knock on my door. I got up and opened the door.

“You were sleeping?” Kayda questioned

“no”

“Are you sleepy”

“No….” I asked “wanna come inside?”

“So, what is it?” I asked her as she settled on my bed

“Do you want to like complete the book we were reading?” she hesitated

“Now?” I asked as I looked at the clock

“Yeah.” she shrugged

“wouldn’t they find us?”

“probably not, grandparents are both asleep, if we manage to sneak past the maids, we are all good.” She assured

“its pretty risky,” I watched as I saw her face dim “but I must agree that I am tempted.” I smirked

“you are?” her face lit back up

“of course I am” I replied

“well I kinda understand why grandma didn’t wanted to let me or kai in the library” she said her face had a hint of regret.

“I think we are supposed to find out sooner or later.” I justified “if we can help in any way, I think we should, I mean the magic council will only look at the greater good and probably wouldn’t act upon anything now in order to avoid conflict and to keep the truth hidden. And I don’t know what else they are keeping as a secret.”

“You are right. So, let’s go?” she guessed

“Yep, let’s go”

We sneaked up the stairs, luckily no one was there in the second floor. We hurriedly tip toed into the library and opened the passageway.

The fairedust greeted us both with their sparkles.

“heeyyy” Kayda cheered “can you please bring the book we were reading earlier.” She requested the fairedust, who immediately went up the shelf and placed the book on the table.

She thanked the little fairedust.

I opened the book to the page were Kayda’s drawing was shown.

Still there. Still the same. Not hallucinations

We looked at each other before I started reading.

“Princess Kayda, the first-born child of King Emerick and Queen Amaria.

Queen Amaria’s soul was corrupted and to cause no further harm to the country, king Emerick executed her, which has caused a barrier in their relationship as father and daughter, which might have been the start of the Kayda’s corruption”

I took a pause before continuing

“Shortly after the death of queen Amaria, the king married the queen’s elder sister, Azaria ,who was a widow and took in her child with the late chief of imperial guard of Celestia, Ayami , giving her the title of second born to the king.

I took another pause, my mind trying to tackle the ‘why’ to all this. Kayda gave a nudge for me to continue.

“Although speculation and rumours did arise about king Emerick being the father of Ayami, it is false as her father was the head of knights of Celestia, who passed away in an attack of malachite shaders”

“Well, this just got a hell of a lot creepier” Kayda said pointing my name on the book.

I shrugged uncomfortably

“The tension between princess Kayda and the King escalated as princess later on defied the orders of the King as she herself stepped on the war against Valerink nation, against the royal protocol of princesses and queens never stepping on the battlefield. The princess is said to have done this as a distraction from her main goal, execution of the king.”

I looked at Kayda , her face was pale as if she saw a ghost.

“Maybe we should stop.” I suggested

“No no read.” she spoke, her words adamant.

I hesitated before continuing

“She carried out the execution of king after which she was proclaimed as a traitor with Ayami testifying as the witness. She remained in a hideout for some time.”

“By this time Ayami became the new ruler, along with Keith prince of Everfrost, her husband.

“Princess Kayda later came out of her hideout only to slaughter the king and queen of Celestia, along with the king of Eldora and their prince Cain . Prince Cain is said to have fought with Kayda whose soul was corrupted. Cain managed to kill Kayda before closing his eyes for the last time.”

“ according to the imperial ministry report, there was traces of multiple corruptions and the soul of air dragon from prince keith, the soul of water dragon from prince cain, the soul of reality from queen ayami, and the soul of dark from princess kayda, disappeared, speculated to be taken by malachite shaders.”

“In her corrupted soul, Kayda buried the kingdom Celestia. It still remains a mystery as to when and how Kayda awakened the dragon soul or who divided the celestial and dark soul, what exactly caused the complete corruption of her soul, and how the malachite shaders got their hands on all of their souls.

“Kayda did injure her stepsister on the night of kings death, as princess Ayami was the only witness to it.”

Kayda’s story remain the mysterious one out of all the kings and queens.

Kayda let out a gasp as we heard footsteps shuffle outside the passageway.

 Someone was coming in.

We both backed away from the book.

The passage door opened.
