Mia’s head rests against the window of the bus, his head slightly shaking and bumping into the window on the road ‘I wonder why Nohan doesn’t defend himself… well… actually… he’d probably get in trouble…’ The trees passed the window as the bus slowed in front of a small suburban house with light tan siding and a black roof and brick accents. Mia quickly stood and swung his backpack onto his back. Walking through the crowd of students on the bus, nodding to the bus driver and stepping off the bus.

He walked silently up the driveway and exhaled. Following the small sidewalk to the front patio.

“Finally home…” Mia inserts his keys into the door and unlocking it, walking into the small foyer.

“Dad, I’m home!” He slides his shoes off and walks into the living room with his backpack on one shoulder.

“Welcome back, Mia” Mia turns to his dad who sits at the kitchen island, lowering his hood and letting his hair long into the light.

“What’s wrong, Dad? You seem a little conflicted?” Mia walks over to the pile of mail on the counter, his dad holding a letter or two with bills.

“It’s just… bills have been going up in price lately…” Mia raises an eyebrow.

“How much?” Mia swifts through the pile, freezing upon seeing a letter.

“Oh… just an extra $100 on the water bill is all” a silence filled the room as Mia picked up the letter. Aisuru looks up at Mia.

“Something wrong, Mia?” Mia’s pupils shake slightly. The letter was formal with a red stamp and three letters: AWA.

“Oh… oh no” A flicker of flames spark from Mia’s hair as he drops the letter back on the counter and speeds walking upstairs. Aisuru stretching his hand out.

“Mia-!” He exhales as Mia goes out of sight.

Mia lays on his bed, stomach down, his face planted in his pillow. ‘What would the AWA want with me…? Do they want me to go all the way to Japan to become an Agent when I don’t even wanna be one!?’ Mia exhales and flips over to look at his ceiling. Exhaling as he relaxes his arms across his stomach. ‘I’m not going there… My friends are here… my family is here… everything i’ve known is here… but…’ Mia lifts his hand into the air. ‘Dad has always told me they’d find me one of these days…’ Mia clenches his fist as a knock echoes at his door.

“Can I come in, Mia?” Mia exhales.

“...Sure…” Aisuru slowly opens the door and walks in, sitting on the edge of Mia’s bed.

“It seems… our life is about to change… huh?” Mia quickly sits up.

“Why’re you so calm about this, dad!? I’m losing my friends, the house I've lived in my whole life, our neighbors, I’m losing my life and you’re so calm about it!!” Aisuru silently sits there, letting Mia speak his peace before sighing and locking his fingers together.

“I fought myself alot when you were young after you Awoke your ability… I knew there would come a day the AWA got in contact with you and I’d lose you and you’d lose your friends as well” Mia’s eyes widened as Aisuru continued.

“And as much as I hate it… you can’t say no to the Awakened World Agency… Abilities have been getting stronger recently and the AWA needs even stronger Agents to fight off some of History’s strongest criminals…” Mia gulped.

“...Dad” Aisuru turns to Mia.

“You won’t have to leave until you graduate middle school-”

“That’s only a month away though…!”

“I know… I know… let me finish first” Mia went silent as Aisuru continued. “The AWA is paying for your transport bills… and they’ll house you in the principal's house… but… I don’t want you to be in Japan alone in this day and age… that’s why I’ll move there too… but i’ll have to stay here in America a little longer to facilitate moving all of our furniture and buying a new home and stuff” Mia’s eyes slightly water.

“Why… Why would you do that…? I know how much this house means to you…!” Aisuru grabs Mia and pulls him into a hug.

“Because I think it’s time for a change in scenery anyway”
