Mia walked down the side of the courtyard, hands in his hoodie pockets. He took a step and then stopped, looking out to the darkening blue sky as the sun neared the horizon.

“I guess… there’s no denying it now… huh?” Mia lifts his hand and clenches his fist.

“I’ll officially have to become an Agent… but…” Mia clenches his fist and lowers it.

“What kind… of Agent will I be exactly…?” The cool wind blows through the courtyard also blowing Mia’s blue hair.

“Pole mainly focuses on combat rescue… King who focuses on taking down Criminals and Agents… and then KADIN who’s doing everything everywhere…” Mia looks up at the sunset colored sky.

“What kind of Agent do I wanna be?” Mia turns around and walks to the front of the house, leaning down and putting on his shoes. Mina walking over.

“Mia? What’s up?” Mia looks up at her and smiles while tying his blue shoes.

“Don’t worry about me, I’m just gonna jog for a bit… get my mind off of everything that’s been happening lately” Mina exhales.

“Okay, stay safe though” Mia smiles.

“I’ll be fine, don’t worry”

Confrontation

Mia jogs softly down the side of the road, earbuds in his ears and a hoodie over his head. The headphones playing a podcast into his ears.

‘And that’s what I think… As the generations continue, there are less and less Awakened because the previous generations almost died out from the intensity of being an Agent” The other man responded.

‘Yeah, And they recently released that there are only 53 students in the AWA program this year, instead of last years 134’ The first man continues.

‘But like I've said before, I believe that even though this generation is smaller, they have stronger abilities… We’re actually seeing a rise in Awakenings with two abilities which hadn’t been seen until a few years ago.’ The other man interrupts.

‘Where are you going with this Lee?’ Lee continues.

‘The rise in stronger abilities could possibly mean that one day… The next generation won’t be able to control their powers… And it could lead to a world ending apocalypse-like situation because the previous generation isn’t strong enough to stop the next generation’ Mia stops at an intersection, preparing to cross but stopping when a cold chill runs down his back. He reaches up and cautiously takes off his Headphones and hoodie.

“Hello? Is anyone there?” Mia looks around as a shadow stands across the street, under a street lamp that isn’t working. The figure speaks up.

“What do you think?” The figure disappears and reappears behind Mia. Mia quickly turns to see the figure. Their red hair and red eyes. They wore a dark body suit and were covered in plenty of bladed weapons and a red scarf around their neck. Mia gulps and seps away a bit.

“Who are you and what do you want?” The man reaches back and draws a broad longsword.

“What? You don’t recognize an old face? Take a good look before I kill you” Mia instinctively jumps back.

“Kill me, why-.... Wait…” Mia squints.

“Nohan…? Is that you?” Requiem disappears and is suddenly beside Mia, violently swinging the sword, Mia barely dodging the edge and jumping back. ‘Nohan is really trying to kill me!?’ Mia takes a deep breath.

“What’re you doing, Nohan?” Requiem steps forward.

“I don’t go by Rue Achlys or your picky nickname ‘Nohan’ anymore… the name’s Requiem” suddenly, Requiem kicks Mia across the face. Then kicking him in the gut as Mia slides back. Mia looks up.

“Fine then, Requiem!... what’d you do to my friend!?” Requiem steps forward and punting Mia across the face, sending Mia to the ground, coughing. Requiem glaring from above, lifting his sword.

“My ENTIRE life… I've been thrown around, pushed about and thrashed by those who didn’t like me, those with abilities… The abilities of those I’ve grown up with are the only reason I’ve become this way” Mia uses his hand to rise standing as Requiem continues.

“If all Humanity can do is hurt others with their abilities, than no one deserves them, i’ll kill anyone with an ability and rid the world of them, and i’ll start with you, the one who used to be my best friend” An overwhelming presence overcomes Mia as a presence of our death radiates off Requiem’s shoulders. Mia shivers as Requiem swings his blade down to Mia’s neck. Mia’s eyes go blank as he disappears. Requiem’s blade digging into the concrete. ‘What the-’ He quickly turns around, Mia floating behind him.

“You underestimate me, Nohan! If you rid this world of abilities, then what’ve you become!? The thing you swore to destroy, that’s what!” Mia punches Requiem in the back of the head, slamming him into the asphalt. Mia grits his teeth as Requiem spins around, swinging his sword across Mia’s chest. Blood erupts from the wound as Mia slides back, coughing and nearly falling to the floor as a gunshot echoes. Mia looks up and barely dodges the bullet before being kicked by Requiem across the face.

“Let me kill you already!” Requiem’s hair faintly turns back to black as Mia grits his teeth, grabbing Requiem’s shoulders and leaning his head back.
