Ace and Hito are walking back to Chimachi from the temple. Hito is ecstatic about what their finds could mean for his theories about the gods really existing.
'I think we should open a museum with all things we found from the temple' says Hito while struggling to carry the absolute ton of random bits he picked up from the temple.
'It’s too much of a bother…' replies a completely uninterested Ace. 'Plus, it’s probably fake. There was some random scale thing in it which didn’t look at all like something actually ancient' He adds.
'No.. I think I remember reading about those. Those were power meter things, built by gods to see how strong they were. And only eight gods have ever managed to break the meter.' Says Hito convincingly.
'The fact that you said that makes me think it was more fake, because there is no chance I broke it.' Says Ace quickly.
'Yeah, you’re probably right.' Sighs Hito.
The two reach Chimachi only to see a hooded figure surrounded by group of people gathered around the entrance to the village.
'What’s going on?' Says Hito
'Oh Ace, there you are, this guy was just asking if anyone from the village went to those ruins nearby.' Said one of the village residents.
'That was where you were, right?' Says another.
'Yeah , why?' Replies Ace
'The hooded figure steps up to Hito and Ace. 'Come with me and all will be explained.' Says the figure in a deep voice.
The hooded figure leads Hito and Ace to a small hut just outside the village where he tells Hito that he wants to talk to Ace alone and that he could wait outside.
Hito agrees.
The figure goes inside the hut and closes the door making sure no one from outside could hear the conversation. There were no windows in the hut so no one could see either.
'Now, who are you and why did you want to talk to me?' Asks Ace
The hooded figure slowly takes off the hood to reveal a teenage boy with a scar. He had a weird, slight, glowing aura around him. It was shining light blue with streaks of red in it but the aura was very dim and not too visible.
'What’s your name?' The boy asks.
'Ace'
'Ace, can you see the aura around me?'
'Yeah, it’s really dim and difficult to see though.' Ace replies squinting his eyes.
'I knew it!' The boy whispers to himself. 'Ace, you are a god.'
Ace is thoroughly confused. 'Ok, is this a joke?'. 'And first of all, you still haven’t answered my question. Who are you?'
'My name is Raiden. I am the god of speed, if you don’t believe me, open the door and ask your little friend over there if he can see the aura.' Says the boy.
Ace, confident that what Raiden was saying was some kind of joke, does exactly that.
'Hito, can you see any kind of aura around this guy?' Asks Ace seriously.
'You…' Hito says pointing at Raiden.
'What?' Responds Raiden.
'Okay, never mind. Ace, can you see that aura?' Says Hito analysing Raiden.
'Yes, but I’m asking you'
'Ace… if you can see that, but I can’t…
You…
You’re…
You’re a god!
But…
How?'
Says Hito baffled.
'See for yourself.' Says Raiden confidently.
'No. Gods aren’t real. This is either a joke, or you’re all delusional. Give me one piece of proof that I’m a god or whatever you’re saying' Says Ace.
'This.' Says Raiden holding up a piece of the broken power meter. 'You triggered this power meter in the hidden temple you went to this morning. These were ancient power meters-'
'Yeah I know what those do. But that was already broken, I didn’t trigger anything.' Says Ace cutting of Raiden.
'It wasn’t broken! I know it.' Cries Raiden. 'No one ever listens to me, but I know this time I’m right. You are a god and the temple was not a false alarm.'
'Who never listens to you?' Says Hito.
'All the adult gods.' Replied Raiden quickly
'Well…' Begins Ace. 'If more experienced ‘gods’ than yourself are telling you it was a false alarm… you should probably listen to them.'
'Ace. I have been wrong before but today that all changes. You are going to have to come with me.'
'Where?' Asks Ace concerned.
'To Kamïe.'
