Crowned By Fate

Enzo, Lord Second.

Enzo, Lord Second.

Apr 26, 2025

All the soldiers who had survived the battle with no injuries, or any significant ones were running around, the ones who were injured were being treated in the various tents which were not broken during the battle or when Ryo's plan was being brought to fruition.

They were preparing for the arrival of Lord Second, who was scheduled to arrive that very night.

Even those who had been tired or eagerly waiting to be dispatched on a leave were completely absorbed in preparations. However, there were a few exceptions, like those who were simply too tired.

And people who went by the name of Charles and were a High-Grade soldier.

"Ugh. Can we please get our leave already?" Charles whined, as he carried almost a dozen large boxes with his small hands.

Knox walked alongside him, carrying broken tents, one on each hand. "Why? We're going to see Lord Second today!" He sang praises of Lord Second, further deepening Charles annoyance.

"Whatever. I want to use my guns~ If only he wasn't coming here today..." He sighed, lowering his voice so only he could hear it, "I'd be shooting down trees, eating all I want and playing with my dogs..."

Although Charles had only muttered to himself, Knox had caught a drift of it and said, "Well, it's not like you'd get to reach home in a few minutes or hour anyways. It would take at least a day or two to get back home."

Charles slammed down the boxes, and gazed directly at the brilliant sun. 'I guess that is true, but I'd still would've been home a day earlier if he didn't come!' He lampooned.

---

thud.

The vehicle moved smoothly, hovering over the uneven ground.

It was shaped like a bean, lights flickering at the edges of the vehicle.

Lord Second sat inside, dozing off to sleep before being woken by his thoughts. 'There's the trouble with Kirish... although, I guess it's not something that would threaten the integrity of the Resistance, since Miss Aurora is there. On the other hand, there's... Armish, I would like to go and help, however, it's... too hopeless.'

He rubbed his eyes and violently shook his head, before falling into slumber, or trying to, as a loud sound of ringing echoed inside the vehicle.

ring! ring! ring! "Ugh." He reached out from the device which laid to his right.

A thin, rectangular shaped device, with two circle bumps on its back. He pressed the button on its bezels, lighting up a screen.

The caller's name read: Remina, Lead Communications and Informations.

He picked up the call, tapping on the green button being displayed.

"Good afternoon, Lord Second. I'm very sorry about contacting you like this! It's just that... it's too important." The deep female voice from behind the device.

"Alright, alright. Tell it quickly, before I regret buying this phone."

"Y- Yes. We just received some crucia- One second. cling!" Before she began debriefing, a long series of unintelligible noises followed.

He pulled the phone away from his ears, stopping the piercing noises from piercing his hearing.

After a few seconds had passed, he could hear the huffing and puffing noises from behind the phone, followed by a clear voice.

"I apologize! I... don't think anyone around me should know about this... so I moved out here! A- Anyways, to not waste your time, the summary of the report we received is that... the Kenzel Planetary Sector is facing a calamity..." Her voice trembled a little, occasionally getting cut off by the noises.

"I see..." He thought for a while, his hand resting on his eyes, "Well, what about the... hundreds n' thousands of soldiers that are stationed there?!" He asked aggressively.

"T-they can't hold it off. It's too large in scale, and it's a natural one!"

'Too large in scale... and a natural one?!' His back straightened as his tone became more urgent as he began rapid firing questions. "What kind of calamity is this? Has this been measured using DMD? If so, what was the grade displayed? Do they have any escape methods? If not, how many can we dispatch? For civilians and soldiers."

The voice on the other side went silent for a few minutes, with only the sound of clicking being heard.

"It... seems to be a flood. As for if it has been measured using the Disaster Measuring Device, then yes. It has, and the grade of the disaster was... Grade-P."

"From the data I've just pulled out from the archives, they seem to have very limited vessels to use to escape."

"We can only dispatch around forty-three Carrier Crafts, which would only be able to contain around sixty-seventy percent of Kenzel's civilians and soldiers."

He closed his eyes and rocked his head back and forth in a slow manner, lost in deep thought. After a few seconds he asked, still sitting with closed eyes.

"A Grade-P disaster... that's- What Degree of Grade-P are we talking about anyways?"

'If it's a First Degree Grade-P, then we shouldn't have too much trouble, if considerable effort is put in, that is. If it's a Second Degree Grade-P floo- '

Before he could think of what could be done, Remina replied, "The Second Degree of Grade-P. We're dealing with planet wide extinction level of disaster. Lord Second, may I suggest something?"

He crossed his legs together, his hand now rubbing his forehead. "Go on."

"Well... we should either leave them be, or uhm... only bring back our top tier soldiers from there..."

"WHAT?!" He shouted. "Are you... actually a fucking insane lunatic?!"

His eyebrows creased as he sighed and followed up with, "I'm currently travelling to meet up with Commander Ashen. I'll have a talk with him, and then get back to you."

Silence loomed for a moment, before a deep breath could be heard, followed by Remina's voice.

"Y- Yes. A- and, may I ask another question, Lord Second? A- although it's a bit unrelated."

"Fine."

"M- may I ask which vehicle you're travelling in?"

He instantly pulled away the phone and disconnected the call.

'This is what she wanted to ask?! THIS FUCKING LUNATIC. Does she not realize the gravity of the thing she just debriefed me about?!'

He leaned forward and knocked on the wall in front four times. knock! knock! knock! knock!

After a second or two, a whoosh sound came, as the wall began to slowly hide behind the sofa-like seat in front, revealing two more seats, one empty, the other having someone sit atop.

In the very front was the gaze of the moon slowly becoming more intense, with the winds flowing slowly and stars twinkling in the night sky.

"How much time till we reach Sector-Six?" He asked.

"Around five minutes, Lord Second."

---

"Hey, Darren. How's family been?" A male voice asked, to the burly man in front.

"No fuckin' idea. I haven't contacted them since like... five months or something. Anyways, they're probably not even worried, they'd probably appreciate it y'know? I mean, I'm going to catch a glimpse of Lord Second!"

"Right..." He said in response, burying his head in disappointment.

Sigh.

'I wanted to see Lord Second for once, but oh well... here I am, stuck treating these injured, not that I hate it, since I am doing good after all.' The treating doctor thought, as she wrapped a bandage around the injured soldier.

'Now that I'm done with the ones with... minor injuries, I guess I should move on to the heavily injured ones.' se thought, striding slowly towards another hospital bed.

The patient in front had a deformed jaw, a frosted right fist, and a leg snapped into two, the bones inside popping out alongside the crimson flesh.

She examined the patient, before stretching his hand out, calling upon a helper.

"Hold him down, then sedate him." She ordered, putting on blue-colored medical gloves.

As the patient was sedated, his eyes slowly shut close. Once he confirmed that the patient was indeed in deep slumber, he grabbed the Medical Artifact beside him.

'Medical-Artifact-Four M Three. Freeze Healing Light... I never thought I'd get to use this.'

A gun shaped artifact, with the trigger being placed under the doctor's index finger.

He took a deep breath, and aimed the Medical Artifact-4M3 at the frozen arm of the patient. On firing the shot, a hissing sound came out as the ice on the arm finally began to slowly melt.

He gripped the gun once more, firing another shot.

Hiss!

---

"Charles." Amir called out, holding two large pints of alcohol. The alcohol was a deep hue of orange. A mesmerising shade. It let out a strong, yet sweet smell. An addicting scent.

Charles stood there, gazing up at the night sky. Still grumbling quietly. "What is it?"

"Lord Second is here now. Do ya' want to meet him?" He asked, handing Charles one of the mugs at hand.

"No way." He said, as their mugs clashed before they began chugging it down, gazing at the night sky.

---

Ashen was pacing back and forth in front of Ryo's tent. Awaiting impatiently for Lord Second's arrival. Seconds passed, minutes passed. He had been doing this for the past three hours.

'When is he comi- ' Before he could lampoon, he heard voices rise up, and saw a crowd gather.

Lord Second was finally here.

Ashen quickly made him way, moving past the crowd with swiftness. 'Where are you... where are you...' He chanted, searching for Lord Second. After a few minutes of this, he felt a tap on his shoulder.

Turning around, he saw a five feet tall man, wearing a plain white t-shirt, under a black windbreaker.

"Enzo..." He said, dazed.

Seeing this, the man in front laughed before replying, "Yes, it's me, The Great Lord Second. Ashen."

"How in the world are others not detecting you?"

"Because I dashed past them." He replied casually, and added, "Anyways, your son, huh..."

Ashen's mood dropped once more. "Let me take you to him first." He whimpered, his eyes begging Enzo to follow him quickly.

This left him surprised, however he obliged and followed. Leaving behind the large crowd in chaos.

---

The flap of Ryo's tent lifted. Ashen and Enzo were met by the Ryo's quiet gaze.

Enzo examined his body. Seeing the bandages, the burns, the stitches did not phase him one bit.

'This is... quite bad...' He reached the obvious conclusion, and took six steps before stopping in front of Ryo. He quietly stared at Ryo's face, then his gaze looked at the neck, before he finally spoke.

"Hello, Lux. I'm not sure if you recognize me, since the last time we met was when you were only five years old."

'Don't remember you?! And why would I not remember you? Even if I don't know about you meeting Lux when he was five, I still know you.'

'Who wouldn't? After all, you are Lord Second, someone who's known as one of the best leaders the Resistance has ever had, although I guess we've only had three... The third being the current, Lord Lux...' He flashed a forced smile and mouthed the words.

'Greetings, Lord Second.'
