 He was fucking ruler of the entire military and he was the strongest person in the Resistance during his time.'

The Second waved at Ryo telling him to sit down and join Ashen and him.

"So Ashen... you son of a bitch you really did a good job."

'Ah so this is how he acts around Ashen.

 No wonder these guys were known to be great friends.'

"You really should not be thanking me you know? 

 It was Ryo who planned it all."

'Huh, me? Ah.

 Fuck, why did he mention it.'

"He did? That's... impressive."

As the Second replied with a doubtful tone he also began studying Ryo with a skeptical look.

'He seems to really be doubtful huh.'

"Right... I did do that."

'Seems like I was wrong huh.

 Guess the phrase 'like father like son' is true after all.'

"So Enzo... I got a favor to ask for."

'Enzo? Who's th- Oh wait it's the Second's name? I don't remember if I've even heard his name after Lux became the Third. Also a favor? Huh what the hell could it be?'

"What is it?"

"You see my son and I placed a little bet..."

Ryo who was lost in his thoughts immediately snapped out of it and began listening to what Ashen was saying in anticipation.

'Finally I can learn about this.'

"Go on."

'Why does Ashen look nervous? Was the bet that serious?'

"If Lux was able to lead this fight alone... without my help... and won. 

 He would be made a Commander and train under you."

'No way.

 Is this how Lux got to learn the Second's techniques?'

"And you decided that without asking me?"

"It all happened too quickly.

 Can't you do it? I mean you are growing old too."

'Saying that right to his face? Is Ashen messed up in the head?'

The Second, Enzo for a brief second emitted a wave of hostility but calmed down and seemed to think about what Ashen had been saying.

"Alright fine.

 I'll make Lux my successor."

Ashen wore a surprised expression, his eyes faintly glimmering with pride and smugness. 

"I didn't mean it like that though. Although I suppose it's fine, isn't it Lux?"

"A-Ah y-yeah it's fine."
