Vampires are vampires

Chapter 16 The tutor

Chapter 16 The tutor

Apr 26, 2025

Miss Tracy is one hundred and thirty-four years old this year, in the view of vampires with extremely long lifespans, she is still considered a young person. However, Ms. Tracy's strength was quite outstanding. She went out on adventures at an early age. As most vampires do, she disguised herself as a human when she was young, and then entered the human empire, as well as some other kingdoms to travel. Gaining insight and knowledge took sixty years, and she traveled from the northernmost part of the Old World, Norsca, to the southernmost part, Araby.

It is said that if war had not broken out in Sylvania after this. It was incumbent upon her to return to Sylvania to enlist in the army. Then she would next have to follow the fleet on a voyage to the New World to see the action.

So this young lady may not be very strong. But it is said that she has seen a lot and has a wide vision. It's that many vampires who have lived for thousands of years are not as good as her.

After she returned to Sylvania, she participated in the war between the vampires and the green-skinned orcs of the Eastern Great Wasteland - a war that was called “The Great Rampage of Dead Man's Bones” by the green-skinned people, and “The Fifth Orc Invasion War” by Sylvania. The war was called the “Fifth Orc Invasion War” by the greenskins and the “Fifth Orc Invasion War” by Sylvania.

This battle lasted for more than fifty years. Sylvania's national strength was greatly depleted. Hundreds of valuable vampires died in this war. Among them, there was even a Count, Valeed's father. He died in the last battle of the war. However, the war also created a group of extremely strong vampire warriors. Ms. Tracy was one of them. Having survived decades of consecutive wars, her strength could be imagined.

As the green-skinned frenzy gradually subsided, Sylvania gradually shifted from a war order to a peaceful order. Tracy also left the army. At the invitation of Varede's father, Count Kastanin, she became a teacher in the Count's territory, in the academy. Teaching the elemental magic that she specialized in the most. Although the most popular in Sylvania was black magic, and necromancy. But there were also quite a few students who studied elemental magic as a minor course, and the vast majority of them gave Miss Tracy a high rating.

On the other hand, for the request of her schoolmate, adventure partner, comrade-in-arms and superior, who had previously taken good care of her, and was also a countess. The young (?) Miss Tracy looked terrified. With such a friendship in place, there was no fear that she wouldn't do her best to teach Varede.

The man had strength, experience, and a knack for teaching, as well as being quite close to the Karstein family. After learning about these circumstances, Varede also felt that it was appropriate for this person to serve as his tutor. It was just a bit of a big deal.

After this, Miss Tracy became Varede's tutor. Because the elemental magic subject was more eccentric. So her teaching task wasn't very heavy. And then Mrs. Windsor, in turn, negotiated with the dean of the academy in the territory to put all the classes she taught in the morning. This ensured that she had an afternoon to be able to educate Varede.

In total, they spent two years together, starting at the age of four. Varede was very satisfied with her coaching. It also really learned a lot. Also his knowledge of the world had increased tremendously.

As for Varede, Miss Tracy felt equally satisfied. Although in the beginning, the slightly cowardly governess had the same concerns, fearing that Varede would become a problematic student like his sister. Although the talent and grades were excellent. But the personality was too problematic. But after spending some time together, she was completely relieved.

Good upbringing, decent demeanor, and gentle conversation with lighthearted witticisms. Trish felt that such a person was worthy of the title of Dark Noble. When spending time with Vared, she often forgot that Vared was a child of only six years old. Instead, she treated him as if he were his own age. Only on a few occasions did Varede, either in deliberate disguise or because of a different worldview, make awkward, or ask strange questions that made her feel like she was sitting across from a small child.

At twelve-thirty, the phantom carriage carrying Miss Tracy came to a steady stop in front of the gates of the old castle of Dekenhof. The four skeletal warhorses with an ominous pale glow around them were exceptionally averse to the midday sun. They snorted uneasily but could do nothing about it. It was only after Miss Tracy slowly stepped out of the carriage that the phantom driver of the carriage flicked his whip and drove towards the shadows of the old castle. These skeletal warhorses were then relieved.

This Valed's governess, Miss Tracy, wore a black dress and a black wide-brimmed hat trimmed with pearls, lace and feathers. The proper attire showed off the exquisite curves of her body. The delicate movements and slightly sickly beauty of her appearance were a sight to behold.

And after seeing Varede, who stood in the doorway to greet her, she gave a chirpy smile to. Raising her already fairly high score once again.

As she smiled, she bent down and curtsied to Varede in a modest manner. Such an action made her appear even more tender. However, if someone really thought of her as a weak woman, it was definitely the biggest mistake that person had ever made.

Varede knew that the pure white, at first glance, seemingly decorative wand that Miss Tracy held in her hand had twenty-four vectors of ice stored in it, and that it could be fired in a split second, continuously, to sift heavily armored enemies into a sieve. Even creatures like trolls and ogres that were known for their thick skin and flesh were no exception.

And on top of that, this soft and sickly beauty was also an expert swordsman. Slightly inputting a certain amount of magic power into the wand, then the front part of the wand would pop up with a fine gold-made bayonet. Although she looked weak. But Ms. Tracy was at least a vampire. Even the average human strong man could not match her wrist strength.

Seeing his governess saluting herself, Varede didn't dare to be slow and hurriedly bent down to return the salute. And stepping forward, he took Miss Tracy's right hand that she extended and lightly kissed her fingertips. And along with Varede's movements, a hint of redness if anything surfaced on Trish's fair face.

"That's really cute. He'll grow into a very good man in the future, right?" Miss Tracy secretly sighed in her heart, "Although it looks less innocent as a child. And sometimes it seems strange, but it unexpectedly makes people feel dependable."

Just as Tracy was thinking that, Varede had let go of his hand and sidestepped, making way, "Please come in, Miss Tracy. My mother went out in the morning, and my sister went to the academy. I am the only one left now. Please forgive me if there is any lack of hospitality."

"No, you've done well enough. In fact there was no need to be so solemn." Miss Tracy shook her head, half comforting, half encouraging Varede.

“I'm relieved that you say that.” Varede nodded and walked beside Miss Tracy. Said so. In this way, the way he spoke according to the tone of an adult even though he was only six years old made Miss Tracy unable to stop herself from laughing out loud.

“So, there's no need to be so solemn, Valeed.” Repeating her previous words, Trish couldn't help but see Varede showing a slightly confused look and wanted to reach out and pinch his face. But just as his arm reached out, he saw Varede break into a smile:

“I see.” Varede said this. And after seeing Varede's smile, Trish realized that her action was too inappropriate. And then slightly embarrassed, she retracted her hand. Of course, that look was also very cute. So it was perfectly fine.

Just like that, both parties first went to the living room to sit for a while, and naturally a maid came over and served black tea and refreshments. The two of them drank the tea while chatting. It was mainly Trish talking and Varede listening. What was said were things that happened when Trish was involved in wars, or adventures, or teaching students over the years.

Trish was generally eloquent. But Valeed listened attentively - most of what he knew about the world he had heard from her governess. And some of the adventures were even more valuable knowledge that couldn't be learned in books. Although Trish treated these things as if she were telling stories and coaxing children, Varede memorized all of them as best he could with the attitude of a lesson.

And so one spoke and one listened. After Trish had finished talking about one of her adventures, the tea had also been drunk. The lesson was also about to officially begin. In the first two years, Valeed had mainly learned the language, general knowledge and some basic magic knowledge for starters. There were also some basic gymnastics and exercises to strengthen the body. For the average vampire child, this was already all the learning they should have accomplished before entering the academy at the age of eight. The few whose talent was not good, or whose teachers were not competent enough, could not even learn this.

In other words, Varede used two years to complete the studies that ordinary vampires needed four years to complete, which was fully twice as fast. This couldn't be said to be a very outstanding achievement - although it was still a bit short of those extreme geniuses.

This, was what Varede wanted to show as his qualifications and abilities. Much better than normal, but not as good as a genius. Moderately above average. Lowering other people's interest in him while also appearing not so useless. Neither pretending to be a pig nor overdoing it. Varede felt that such a middle ground was very good.

In fact, for those basic physical exercises, calisthenics. Varede didn't see it at all. Although in future wars, physical combat situations were rare. But in order to strengthen the body, there were also fights and brawls. All types of combat arts were still quite popular in the military. On top of that, because the psychic mechs were equipped with psychic sword weapons, professionalized sword training was also done. All of these were much stronger than the basics taught by Miss Tracy.
