Chapter 6.
The Return.
Alain had spent days recovering in the cabin of the older woman, who had cared for him with dedication and concern. Although his body was beginning to heal, his mind was filled with torment and hatred towards this fateful soulless woman.
However, the news that his friends' bodies had been anonymously sold to feed fattening pigs had left him devastated. He knew that he could not face his friends' families and explain to them the tragedy that had occurred.
One afternoon, while Alain was resting in the cabin, the woman sat beside him and spoke softly. Boy, you must return home. Your parents must be worried about you. You can't stay here forever, nshe said, her voice firm but kind.
Alain knew the woman was right. Although he wanted to recover in order to get revenge, he also knew he had to return home and face his family. He couldn't keep hiding in the woods…he had to find a way to move on.
I know, Alain replied, with a sigh. I'll go back home. But I won't mention what happened. I don't want to be seen as a murderer.
The woman nodded, understanding the difficult situation Alain was in. Do what you think is best, boy. But remember, you can always count on me if you need help, she said, with a warm smile.
With determination, Alain stood up and prepared to return to the mansion of his father, Amancio Bardot. He knew that he would not only be hostile when asked where he was, but he was willing to face whatever was necessary, even the hostility of his father.
Upon arriving at the mansion, Alain was greeted by the guards of the property, who looked at each other in surprise and concern. ¿What happened to you, young Alain? one of the guards asked, seeing his condition.
I had an accident, but I'm fine, Alain replied, trying to remain calm. I need to see my father.
The guards led him to Amancio Bardot's office, who looked up when he saw his son enter, Alain, ¿where have you been? Your mother and I were very worried, Amancio said, his voice firm, but full of concern.
Alain approached his father and hugged him. I'm sorry, father. I had an accident and got lost in the woods. But I'm fine now, he said, trying to hide the truth.
Amancio observed him closely, noticing the wounds and the tiredness on his face. You must rest, son. Don't worry about anything else now, he said, in a soft voice.
Alain nodded and retreated to his room, feeling a mixture of relief and sadness. He knew he had made the right decision by not mentioning what had happened, but he also knew that the shadow of that evil woman would continue to haunt him.
While resting in his room, Alain began to plan his next move. He knew he had to be patient and wait for the right moment to find out the identity of this young lady whose name he could not remember. But he knew that she had a level of evil that surpassed humanity in someone normal. Only then did his mother, Ana, enter his room, sit next to him and caress his hair and say: you know how worried we were, dear son…
Then, the young man asked his mother: Mom, ¿do you think women can be evil? To which the woman shook her head and said: no woman is evil, all without exception are just different.
