The Player opened his eyes to see nothing but darkness. Panicked, he looked around. “Where... where am I?” Still in darkness, he could feel his heart pounding faster and faster. Only then did he realise that he was a wisp surrounded by his memories. As he tries to make sense of what is happening, he scans through fragments of his memories trying to piece things up. When he met the hard truth that some of his memories were forgotten, he steeled his resolve, searching for a glimmer of hope.
In the end, The Player’s efforts had proven to be futile. Lingering onto the hope that he can find answers, he continues searching. But eventually The Player falls into a stage of mixed emotion. Happiness? Sadness? Fear? “WHAT’S HAPPENING? I was just fighting a crazy old man who is trying to kill me and now this??”Accepting his fate. “So this is the end huh. Damn that old man, is this how you go easy on someone?” The Player started to close his wavering eyes, accepting the fact that he might be dead.
Out of nowhere, a beam of warm light washed over him, filling him with delight. Though it didn’t last long as he realized the warm light was shrinking. His being started to be filled with fear “no...NO! I AM NOT DYING BEFORE I FIND OUT THE TRUTH!” pleaded The Player, while he was desperately reaching for the light source.
Suddenly light flashed him, making it hard to see for a while .
“THANK GOD You're awake” said a feminine voice “ Do you know how many times I told that old man to be careful with others while fighting? And he just had to bring you in a near dead condition right after I warned him”
While The Player's eyes were adjusting to the light. His face of confusion reminded her to introduce herself. “Hi, sorry I completely forgot to introduce myself, my name is Eir Draghart.” Introducing herself with a smile.
Eir had long snow blue straightened hair that covered the back of her scrubs. Her eyes were the colour of oceanic blue, her glass white skin shined in the lights. She had a slim physique and her height was shorter than The Player.
“What’s your name?” Questioned Eir.
The Player, still processing what had happened, was stunned to see a new face in an unfamiliar environment. After scanning his surroundings, he finally turned to Eir, while admiring her beauty he responded, “Kain Azura and thanks for treating me”
When was the last time I smiled?
“Well, grandpa did a lot to cure you. You were in a critical condition as your right shoulder was dislocated and fractured, abdomen has been critically injured by the kick, and some minor fractures across your body” said while pouring water into a cup. “He went to the mountains for the herbs and always checks on you after his classes! Well, in the end you're safe” She said, handing the cup of water to Kain.
“Thanks, miss Eir,” Kain thanked.
Suddenly the door flung open with a bang that echoed through the hall. “So you're awake. How are you feeling?” Yoojin exclaimed, filled with concern.
“I can't move my right shoulder as freely, and there is still a lingering pain around my body. Not to mention old man, is this how you go easy on someone?” Kain complained.
“I apologize for my lack of control. My name is Yoojin Draghart, Sorry for the late introduction.” Yoojin apologised. “Now that I’ve introduced myself, may I know your name, young man?”
“Don’t worry Grandpa, he is safe and sound.” Assured Eir with excitement.
“Well he needs some rest to heal his abdomen and his fractured bones, that you caused!” Eir, reminded, giving a death stare to Yoojin. “Alright, alright Sorry” said Grandmaster in a respectful manner.
Beside the arguing grandparent and his grandchild, Kain was peacefully sipping water waiting for his chance to speak.
Breaking the quarrel, Kain introduced himself,“My name is Kain Azura, thanks for looking after me”
“But I lost the test, why am I still here?” he asked with curiosity.
“Even though you lost, you have the resolve to be strong, furthermore, you slept for 3 days.” Yoojin said in a stern yet sincere tone.
Grandpa being serious? That's strange. Eir wondered
“ 3 DAYS?!” Kain Yelled, his eyes widening. “I have been asleep for 3 days??” asked Kain
“Yes, I was worried that you had fallen into a comatose state.” Eir said sadly.
“So am I a student of the dojo now?” Kain asked with ecstasy.
“Not yet, you’ll have to select a martial art to master.”
“Then can you show me the variety of martial arts I get to choose from?” Kain asked eagerly.
“NO, NO NO NO, not with that injured body of yours.” Eir interjected.
“Don’t worry Eir , my legs have recovered enough to walk.” Kain assured Eir with a smile.
“If you say so… use this cloth as a make-shift arm sling for your broken arm”
“Thanks Miss Eir.”
Kain and Yoojin walked through the corridor with Eir following them behind. They reached an open area surrounded by giant trees, some students training with swords. The place was filled with an array of metal clanging, while teachers were giving tips on how to improve.
While they walked towards the big crowd in the middle of the ground they heard a group gossiping. “Isn’t that the boy who challenged the Grandmaster and fainted?” “Yeah that weakling deserved it.”
However the moment Grandmaster Yoojin turned towards them, they quickly shut their mouths and scrambled away. Seeing this, Eir chuckled at the gossiping students' silence the moment her grandpa stared at them.
As continued walking, Eir looked towards Kain, face filled with worry, “Kain are you alright?”
“Yeah,” he replied, with a sincere smile.
As they continued forward, Kain felt an overwhelming pressure. Seeing the strain the pressure had on Kain, Yoojin casted his aura, negating the pressure. When the person who casted the overwhelming pressure saw Grandmaster Yoojin, he ran towards them at highspeeds with his slim build, kneeling.
“Greetings, Master.”
