About 250 years ago, there was an illegal institution hidden somewhere in Portus. This organisation consisted in illegal actions whose leader was against the Lorien’s Order. He kidnapped, bought, and tricked powerful kids into that place to experiment on them and steal their powers. In the facility, he also would manipulate the kids into fighting with each other to see their powers’ level. Most kids didn’t understand and accepted his orders. Others knew but were too scared to escape or to die by his hands. And, some were fearless.

– Honey, look at her! She’s revitalising the flowers who were dead in the backyard.

– I’m proud to have such a lovely and powerful daughter. She’ll be really strong someday and protect us.

– Yes…

A married couple in their 40’s said while looking at their child playing in the garden. They were from the Hoshikuzu nation and had a kid who possessed nature powers. Despite being a very happy and lovely family, they were hated by the neighbours who envied them.

The kid was going to be fourteen years old in a few days. They were thinking about a present to give her. 

– Mom! Dad! Can we go to the park? It’s sunny today.

– Sure, darling!

– Hihi, thank you, I love you!

They went to the park and had a wonderful day. The lovely girl had a really happy day with her parents and wished she could spend all her days like that.

In the distance, there was a man watching her as she played with flowers. The man approached her parents and was talking to them.

– I see you both have such a powerful daughter. I have an organisation which works in enhancing the kids’ powers to make them stronger in terms of power and psyche, you would end up gaining a lot of benefits if your kid came with us. – He offered.

– We don’t want our kid involved in any organisation we both don't acknowledge, and I would never let a stranger take my kid, especially for that reason. She's a kid and we don’t care about power, nor does she. – The mother replied, quite unsure of the man’s suggestion.

– Are you sure about that? It could be a great opportunity, if you want, I can offer a good amount of money in exchange for her. – He insisted.

– Where am I going? – The little girl asked as she came back to her parents.

– You’re not going anywhere sweetie. – Her dad glared at him in irritation. – We don’t accept your offer either, you’re a monster for trying to buy a kid. If you don’t leave–

– Fine, fine! I’ll just leave. Sorry to interrupt. – The insane man said while smiling at the little kid.

The man left and the parents felt more at ease.

– Blue, if you ever see that man again, don’t trust him and tell us, okay? – Her mother asked, worried.

– Yes, mom!

The next day, they bought the gift for her birthday. When they arrived home, they hid it under the living room couch.

– Mom? What are you doing? – She asked as she noticed her hiding something. She was curious.

– Oh, nothing sweetie. How are you? Did you eat well while we were away? – Her mother changed the topic of the conversation.

– Yes! I also left some leftovers for you.

– Thanks! You can go play in the garden if you want.

After an hour, the mother went to the garden to watch her play. Then suddenly, the same insane man appeared.

– Hey little kid, do you wanna come with me? I can give you anything you want if you come. – He proposed, bending down to her height.

– Sorry, I don’t. Mom!! – She yelled, as she remembered her mom’s order.

As the mother turned around, she froze seeing that terrible man from yesterday. She then proceeded to call her husband and run towards the kid.

– Leave my daughter alone!

She tried to take her away from the man, but he pushed her, making her fall to the ground.

– Mom! Are you okay?! – She was scared.

– Leave my kid! This is your last warning! – Her mother growled in both fear and anger.

The man couldn’t care less and took the kid with him.

– Mom, no! Please let me go! I need my parents! – She yelled, in despair, as the man stole her away.

– Blue–! Please… – The mother stuttered in agony but hope.

Her parents couldn’t do much about it, the man was way more powerful… But they hoped they could rescue her someday.

Both parents started crying as they saw their kid vanishing in the distance with that man, Who later injected something on the kid’s arm making her fall asleep.

When they were arriving at the destined hidden place, the girl woke up. She seemed like a different person.

Blue

I was scared… I missed my parents and my home… I just wanted to cry. But I couldn’t. I was scared to death.

“I need to stop acting like a kid and think about any plan to run from here. I need to go back to my parents!”

I tried to memorise every place I passed by, and to obey him… It would probably be better to stay quiet and obey his rules than trying to snitch on him and make him mad.

– You’re behaving really well, sweetie. I wasn’t expecting this. – The creepy man said. – Since you’re being so polite, let’s do a simple test.

He took me to a wide room, it had bad lighting and was full of blood marks on the floor. It was easy to guess it was something dreadful or illegal. I doubt the gods would allow such a thing.

We walked in further, and there were kids fighting. From very young ages, to probably eighteen. I was really scared, they seemed to be fighting until death.

– Go. – The man pushed me. – I want you to join the fight.

I was shaking from how frightened I was… I didn’t want to die nor to fight with them. I just wanted to go home, but I needed to cooperate here to get what I wanted.

I obeyed the man’s orders and I fought with them. I really didn’t want to do that.

The last two kids standing were me and a black haired boy that was probably the same age as me. He was really powerful and I was scared to face him… I would definitely die.

We fought and the boy easily won. He was about to kill me when the insane man stopped him. 

– You can stop now, she’s new here. I don’t want her to die so soon.

– Yes, sir. – The boy replied, cleaning his blood dripping mouth.

I could see in his eyes how bad he was suffering. “I wonder if I’ll end up the same.” I got chills down my spine.

The man grabbed my arm and took me to a room and injected me with some red fluid.

– Argh!! That hurts! – I yelled in pain, crying.

– You’re quite strong. But you still lost, so this is your punishment for that.

I looked at him with rage in my eyes. “What was that red thing?!”

– You can go to sleep now. Tomorrow we’ll do a test again, but don’t worry sweetie, it won’t hurt.

“This man is insane!” I was horrified, I couldn’t stand that place anymore. Even if it had been just a few hours.

Blue pretended to go to sleep but instead, she was trying to find a way to remove the effect from that drug that he had injected in her.

She then decided to risk her life and ate a flower that she carried everywhere in her body since it was a gift from her parents. This made her blood become toxic and turn her skin into a purplish-red tone. She used her power to make her body adapt to this toxic blood, making her organs turn into that flower’s.

She was no longer human but rather a living being with human outsides.

After that, she sneaked outside to investigate the place. She then found the boy from before. He was taking a walk on  those cold and dark corridors of hell. He seemed lonely and sad.

– I’m planning an escape, do you wanna join? – She awkwardly asked him.

– Hm? – He looked at her, in a painful way. – I don’t. I’m planning my own way of getting out.

– Alright.

“He’s quite mysterious…”

– What’s your name? – She asked, trying to befriend him.

– Oh… Dracarus.

He didn’t seem to be that friendly… She wondered if he ever had any friends at all.

– Mine’s Blue, nice to meet you.

– Yeah…

He had a hard time trusting people so he didn’t give her much trust.

She still wanted to befriend him.

– Since when have you been here? – She hesitated, curious.

– For about five years. – He answered, with the most blank face.

She was shocked. “What has he been doing here since so young…”

– That’s… terrifying. – She was quite frightened. – Well, I’ll keep going, see you again…

Blue smiled and walked away. She luckily ended up finding a place where she could open if she grew strong stems from her hands. However, a night guard found her and took her back to her room.

– You shouldn’t wander to where you’re not supposed to if you don’t wanna end up dead. – He murmured, scaring her.

She was fearful but would still try her plan the next day.

The following morning came and the leader went to take her for the new experimental test.

– Woah, I didn’t expect the drug to change your skin color. That’s good, I guess. Now…

The man injected the painkiller in her body, causing her to sleep… Fake sleep. She faked her sleep since the painkillers didn’t affect her body due to its alteration.

As the man turned around, she rapidly picked up a sharp cutting supply that was on the table next to her, and pierced it right into his both eyes. He was powerful enough to kill her but without his eyes, he was nothing. She anxiously ran outta there to her secret escaping spot while the man was still grunting in pain and with his eyes ripped out.

– Agh!! How could you! I’m gonna kill you! – The man angrily shouted while covering his holes in pain.

She was sobbing really hard, she had never been this scared in her life. “Please, survive, Blue.”

Once she reached the spot, Dracarus was there. She had no clue how he knew that was the spot.

He had already opened the secret place with his power, despite not being very friendly, he decided to help her.

– Go, now! My power won’t last long and the guards are coming!

– Thank you…! – She thanked him, while escaping through his exit with tears in her eyes. “Goodbye Dracarus.”

The girl left the place successfully. She was scared the man’s guards would find her, but they didn’t.

She also didn’t know how to return back to her house, but she still tried. Since she was more like a plant, she didn’t need much more than water to survive.

After three long days, she finally arrived at her village’s entrance. It was also her birthday. She was almost falling to the ground of how tired she was but her will to finally reunite with her parents again was stronger so she kept on going. When she finally arrived home, she saw the most horrendous thing she could ever see…

She fell to the ground, speechless, as she saw her parents dead in the living room.

She crawled to them and hugged them while her heart was about to come out of her mouth. She also found a note near their bodies. “I hope you like this present, ugly child.”

She was absolutely crushed. Her parents were the most important people in her life… 

“No… I can’t believe this.” – She hysterically cried of both anger and sadness. “It was that man who murdered them… I’m sure!”

She knew that note was from him. But she didn’t bother, she knew she wasn’t strong enough to kill him.

She then remembered it was her birthday and that her parents were hiding something underneath the sofa. She went to check and saw a box there.

“For our sweet girl, Blue, Happy Birthday, We love you.” She opened the box with blue tears dripping down her face, and saw a gas mask. She had a collection of different masks, and her parents decided to surprise her with a new, different one. She put it on… She decided to use it from that day on.

After that, she grew some blue flowers from her parents’ bodies in honour of them, when suddenly…

– Did you just kill them?! You’re a monster! Who are you?! – It was one of their envious neighbours who hated her family to death.

– You’re the only monster here for being so hypocritical. – She was still crying under the mask.

Blue, full of sorrow and anger, strangled the woman, impulsively, using her new strength and powers.

– Are you… their daughter…? Who–

The woman fell, dead.

– You can call me Blue Orchid.
