A World Where Kael Lives

Chapter 3: The School Dance – The Chaos Escalates

Chapter 3: The School Dance – The Chaos Escalates

May 05, 2025

As September approached, so did the first signs of fall. The air grew crisp, the leaves hinted at golden hues, and students buzzed with anticipation—because the school festival was coming.

And with it—the annual school dance.

Scene 1 – The Invitation & The Decline

Sora was on a mission.

She sat across from Kael at a café, her hands folded together, her best pleading expression locked and loaded.

Sora (practically begging): "Kael, please! Come to the dance with me!"

Kael, sipping his tea calmly, politely shook his head.

Kael (apologetically): "I appreciate the invitation, but I must decline. My duty at the convenience store requires my presence that evening."

Sora (groaning): "You have to work?!"

Kael (nodding): "Indeed. It is a responsibility I cannot neglect."

Sora collapsed onto the table dramatically.

Sora: "This is the worst."

Kael simply smiled, unaware that fate had other plans.

Scene 2 – The Mystery Man

THE NIGHT OF THE SCHOOL DANCE.

The gymnasium-turned-ballroom was alive with soft music, twinkling lights, and students dressed in their finest attire.

Sora stood near the refreshment table, adjusting her borrowed dress. It wasn’t exactly what she had wanted, but she made it work.

Sora’s Friend (whispering): "Did Kael say yes?"

Sora (sighing): "No. He had to work."

Sora’s Friend: "That’s too bad…"

Suddenly—the music shifted.

A new presence entered the ballroom.

A tall figure, clad in an elegant black suit, wearing a phantom mask, strode gracefully across the dance floor.
The students whispered in awe.

Random Student #1: "Who is that?!"

Random Student #2: "That suit… that posture… he looks like someone out of a fairy tale!"

Sora’s heart skipped. She already knew who it was.

Kael had arrived.

The masked figure extended a gloved hand toward her.

Kael (smoothly): "May I have this dance?"

Sora (soft gasp, but grinning): "You’re such a liar."

She took his hand.

Scene 3 – The Dance of a Lifetime

As Kael and Sora danced, the entire ballroom fell silent.

Their movements were graceful, effortless—as if they had stepped out of a fantasy novel.

The students watched, entranced.

Random Student #3: "This… this is something out of a dream."

Random Student #4: "They look perfect together."

The slow melody wrapped around them, their bodies moving in perfect sync.

Then—as the music reached its final notes—

Kael reached up… and removed his mask.

THE ROOM ERUPTED.

Random Student #1: "IT WAS KAEL THE WHOLE TIME?!"

Random Student #2: "OH. MY. GOD."

Before anyone could recover—Kael gently cupped Sora’s face.

Kael (softly): "Sora…"

He leaned in. Their lips brushed together in a soft, tender kiss.

TOTAL SYSTEM FAILURE.

THE SCHOOL WENT INTO COMPLETE MELTDOWN.

Student #1: "THEY’RE A COUPLE?!"

Student #2: "I CAN’T BREATHE!"

Student #3: "THAT WAS THE MOST ROMANTIC THING I’VE EVER SEEN!"

Some girls cried. Some girls passed out. Some tried to accept their defeat.

Sora, blushing uncontrollably, stumbled backward.

Kael caught her.

Then—he kissed her again. This time, deeper.

THE ENTIRE SCHOOL LOST ITS COLLECTIVE MIND.

Scene 4 – Total School-Wide Disaster

Then—it got worse.

The Principal, the faculty, and the school dance organizers stood at the side of the ballroom, watching in growing horror as the school completely fell apart.

Principal (frantically adjusting glasses): "We have a situation."

Dance Organizer: "A situation?! HALF THE FEMALE STUDENTS JUST FAINTED!"

The school clinic was OVERWHELMED.

Students were collapsing left and right.

Nurse (panicking over the intercom): "WE’RE OUT OF BEDS! WE NEED MORE STRETCHERS!"

Teacher (grabbing a walkie-talkie): "SEND THE SCHOOL BUSES TO EVACUATE THE INJURED TO THE NEAREST HOSPITAL!"

MEDICAL CRISIS DECLARED.

Principal (gripping forehead): "We… we have no choice."

The microphone screeched as she grabbed it, her voice cracking under the stress.

Principal (over PA system, defeated): "Attention students. Due to… unforeseen circumstances… the school dance is officially CANCELED. Please proceed to the exits in an orderly fashion."

Emergency lights flickered. Faculty scrambled to escort students out.

Kael just stood there, utterly confused.

Kael (blinking): "Was the dance not meant to end this way?"

Sora (facepalming): "Kael… you have NO IDEA what you’ve just done."

Teacher (muttering, shaking head): "Do we have insurance for this?"

Other Teacher (deadpan): "No. We’re doomed."

Meanwhile, paramedics loaded girls onto school buses, rushing them to hospitals.

Scene 5 – The Challenge

The room hushed as That Random Girl calmly approached.

Her black almond-shaped eyes locked onto Sora’s.

That Random Girl (smoothly, arms crossed): "That was quite the display, Sora."

Sora (turning, realizing IT’S NOT OVER): "Oh, COME ON! You again?!"

The students sensed something HUGE was about to happen.

That Random Girl (tilting her head slightly): "I can do better."

Sora (narrowing her eyes): "What?"

That Random Girl (smirking): "I can be a better girlfriend to Kael than you."

GASP. THE AUDIENCE STIFFENED.

Sora (growling): "Those are just words. You can’t prove it."

That Random Girl (grinning): "I can. Once he’s mine, I’ll show all of Tokyo how I can make Kael the happiest man alive."

Sora (crossing her arms, standing her ground): "What do you want?"

That Random Girl (dead serious): "A duel. Martial arts. Three clean hits to win."

THE CROWD GASPS.

That Random Girl (smirking): "The winner takes Kael’s heart as the prize."

Sora (fist clenching): "You’re ON. I will not lose to the likes of you!"

The duel was set.

Then—she turned around.

As she walked away, she giggled softly, her voice almost a whisper.

That Random Girl (softly, to herself): "Kael, your heart will soon be mine."

A chill ran down Sora’s spine.

Sora (muttering under her breath): "Oh, I do NOT like her."

Then—the internet BROKE.

Scene 6 – The Viral Explosion

The next day, students posted the kissing scene online.

IT. WENT. VIRAL.

Social Media Platforms CRASHED.

Local news outlets picked it up.

The TV headlines screamed: "BREAKING NEWS: High School Couple Sends Internet Into Meltdown!"

Sora’s mother, casually watching TV, suddenly saw her daughter kissing Kael on the screen.

Sora’s Mom (spitting out her tea): "SORA!!!"

She stormed upstairs.

Sora’s Mom (yelling): "YOU HAVE SOME EXPLAINING TO DO, YOUNG WOMAN!"
