[Third person POV]

Azura is annoying, annoyingly Beautiful is what Kaldor thinks, but he will never admit it. She seems to be a very straightforward person when they meet.

She was very formal and respectful. Because of his title, but now she seems annoyed by him and reciprocates the hostility Kaldor shows.

The north was one of the other territories that the emperor was wary of. It was the second territory where only humans resided, with the first being Drucia, which was created when the massacre of the cursed humans started by other humans who feared dragons. But unlike Drucia, the north was on good terms with the empire.

“Good morning, your majesty,” a peculiar scent this human has. He had a similar scent to that of a dragon. He could pick up this scent on Dune and Alisud.

“Rizontie Neferpitou greets your majesty, Prince Kaldor.”

“Huh, why does a dragon have a human’s last name?” Kaldor voices his concerns.

“Well, I am the duke’s Brother-in-law. I took my wife’s last name when we got married because my last name was too filthy for me to carry.”

“Why would you do such a disgraceful thing?” the prince scoffed, to him being a dragon was one of the most honorable things to be.

“Your majesty, you must have a loving upbringing for you to dismiss other people’s decisions without even knowing their stories.” Rizontie was a very straightforward person, and he must have influenced Azura’s straightforwardness since he was the one who trained and nurtured her desire to be a knight.

“So why did you take your wife’s last name?” the prince rudely asks.

“I come from the Yadao clan,” Rizontie replies.

“And you are ashamed of the most successful dragon clan in the empire, which is even more successful than the imperial family. If they had not refused our proposal, I would have married. comfortably.” The prince whines.

“Your majesty is an idiot, I see,” Azura chimes in. She has always had a soft spot for her uncle Rizontie. He is the one who has always believed in her and, with her parents, is always busy with the estate. He is the only one available to help her train.

“Little duchess, I see you are up early.” Rizontie beamed, “but Azura should know better than to use that language. While speaking to a crown prince

“I heard my uncle was back, so I came to show you my new sword technique. But the crown prince should also know to mind his tongue while speaking to others as well.” Azura beamed; her smile always seemed to catch Kaldor by surprise. She always seems exceptionally beautiful when she smiles; her gray eyes sparkled like jewels. Perhaps Nessie was not the only beautiful woman alive.

“I apologize if I was rude, Sir Rizontie,” he sheepishly says, avoiding eye contact. This seems to catch Rizontie by surprise, as he heard Kaldor was not one to admit he was wrong.

“Thank you for your apologies, your majesty. Your apology is accepted.”  He smiles as he watches the scene of another man who is about to be wrapped in the little duchess's little finger. “The servants will be here to assist you. After breakfast, you will find me at the training grounds, your majesty, so I can guide you.”

“And your majesty, your view of the world is too one-dimensional for you to see the bigger picture. If you continue to see this world like this, I fear the empire is at its loss,” Azura says. Making Kaldor snort before walking with her uncle, she didn´t forget to turn and wave her tongue at him mockingly.

The north was a peculiar territory, Kaldor had thought that only humans resided. “Good morning, your majesty. My name is Dino, and I will be your assistant at any given time.”

“You are a dragon too?”

“Oh yes, the Neferpitous rescued and took me in. I have only been living here for five years, though.”

A space that helps both humans and dragons alike, the north is surely peculiar.
