After the confusion of seeing the prince alive and the confrontation between the two armies, their leaders and advisors finally pitched a tent to resolve the issue, even with countless opposition.
“So, you just attacked my territory, because of some baseless rumor?”
“The Viscount said, showed me the proof of my son being killed.”
[Though the assassins I sent were all annihilated but that little girl. The backup said they left her, and the prince being attacked by wolves. [How did they survive this massive wolf attack?] (Magellan’s thoughts.)
“So, Viscount seems to know more. about the north than its own habitants,” the duchess said muckily.
“I sent the escorts. So, when they did not report back. I assumed they were all killed.”
“But we sent a messenger to report the prince’s safe arrival,” the duke reasoned.
“We did not receive them unfortunately.”
“I sincerely apologize, Grand Duke and duchess. When the Viscount informed me about my son’s murder, I did not think rationally.”
“You blindly just follow his orders without further investigation, like a brainless person.”
“Your majesty, that is not a way to talk to your father.” The duke scolded.
“Why should I respect him? He put me in harm’s way but giving total control of my life to the very same man who hired people to kill me, and he is still following his every move and now might ruin Uyilleozia's relationship with Quica.”
“What is that supposed to mean, you burn down my establishments and you we sent here as punishment.”
“You hired an assassin disguised as escorts.”
“That is not true. I did no such thing?”
[Here we go again, he is going to blindly follow him because of Uyilleozia’s struggling financial status. Spineless emperor.] (Kaldor’s thoughts.)
“Viscount Magellan should be seized for trying to assassinate an imperial family member. We will have further investigations.” Sir Valen decided.
“Your Majesty, it is all a ploy…”
“I agree with Sir Valen, Viscount Magellan will be incarcerated until further notice.”
The duke and duchess left the tent. to help the citizens who were affected by the attack along with most of their knights.
“What is his royal highness the Crown Prince doing on the battlefield? He is thirteen. I thought the laws of Quica did not allow a child younger than fifteen on the battlefield.”
“This was a special case. We needed him to calm down his father,” the duke explained, sheepishly.
“Ah, so the law can be bent on anyone but my daughter, who has proved time and time again to be strong enough to fight?”
Before the duchess can leave, they are interrupted by one of the soldiers from the north who barges in with chilling news.
“Your Grace we have been informed that Lady Azura is ill. Lady Dune has already sent intel to the tower to send a wizard.”
