Kael’s mind echoed with the doctor’s voice.

“Sarit... is pregnant.”

He held his breath. His mind was filled with memories of that night in the storage room—the intoxicating scent, those uncontrollable moments.

“Did... I cause this?”

His steps quickened. Sarit was heading toward the yard from the other hallway. Kael caught up to him and grabbed his arm.

Sarit turned in shock, his face tired and cold. “Let go of me.”

“You... are pregnant?”

Sarit’s eyes flashed, but not with emotion, rather with hidden anger. After a few seconds of silence, he snapped,

“Yeah. But not from you.”

Kael stood stunned. “What?”

“I went to the town below one night. I was drunk. It was a mistake. A shitty Beta. This baby is his.”

Kael’s eyes filled with anger and disbelief. “You’re lying. You never even go out.”

Sarit smirked mockingly. “So you know me, huh? Since when? How well did you know me that night?”

Kael stepped back. His lips trembled, but he said nothing. He simply turned and walked away with heavy steps.

Three days later – The Forced Conversation

The door of the old mansion creaked open. Kael entered. Sarit was sitting on a chair, his hand resting on his stomach.

“Got a minute? Then leave.”

Kael, without introduction, said, “I know you’re lying. The doctor said it’s from the time of your heat. And that night, I...”

Sarit shouted, “I didn’t want this! I didn’t want any of this to happen! I’m an Omega, not a doll!”

Kael took a deep breath. For a moment, his face wasn’t that of an Alpha heir, but rather like a boy who didn’t know how to take responsibility for something that had happened unintentionally.

“But there’s a baby inside you now. And I can’t be indifferent.”

Sarit responded only with his gaze. Full of sorrow, exhaustion, and loneliness.

Kael took a small step forward. He spoke softly,

“As long as you don’t want me to, I won’t get close. But I’ll take care of you. Because that baby... half of it is mine.”
