Liam's POV

We agreed to meet in the safe house. Abigail took Kai home and drove there. We were all inside already when she arrived, and we settled down.

"Okay, tell me exactly what happened." she demanded softly. She was worried but who can blame her? All of us were.

Since I was the only one in this room who was there from start to end, I told her what happened in detail. After I was done she had her head between her palms. I know it's too much to process.

"Liam." the alpha got my attention. "I'll need you to bring Kai here--"

"No no no. No." Abigail cut him off. "That can't happen and you know it." she argued.

"Abigail, think about it."

"With how much I want him safe, I can't let that happen, not now. It's too soon." Her voice wavered with stress.

"You can't hide it from him any longer. According to what Liam said; he showed symptoms right after his encounter with the wolf. I think it's time."

"No.." she murmured to herself. Her expression suddenly hardened. "Why did he even go to see Kai? Why now?!"

"Abigail... This is his son."

"The son he left for the sake of his identity. He could've stayed there, at home, and help him with control instead of making us lie to Kai all of his life!"

The door creaked open, and Oscar entered the room. A sigh escaped his lip, one we all know too well. "You know I didn't have a choice. Kai started showing the ability to transform from a very young age. If I stayed any longer, our secret would've been revealed." he explained the same thing he did every time Abigail mentioned his leave.

She scoffed slightly. "And now you're suddenly showing up? Making him almost lose control. And at school!"

"I believe that now he's capable of controlling himself--"

"He was capable doing that long time ago! You just never stayed to find out!"

"Alright. Let's all calm down." the alpha spoke up in a gentle voice, calming the tension in the room.

I can understand Abigail. Her anger. But I can also understand Oscar's worries. Why he didn't want to stay in their home with Kai. For some reason, his presence made Kai start transfroming. That's when Oscar left. Abigail didn't send Kai to school for atleast two weeks to let the affect dissipate so he won't accidently shift at school, exposing us all.

Of course that after that, Abigail's relationship with her husband deteriorated. But they never divorced. They truly love eachother. Even if they didn't show it in those last few years.

"Kai?" I turned my attention to Abigail, she had her phone to her ear. When did it even ring? I was really zoned out I guess.

"Honey, what's wrong? Wait wait, slow down I can't understand you like that. What?! Okay I'm on my way just don't--"

I guess she was about to say that he won't hang up, but he already did.

"Shit."

"What's wrong?" Alpha Kian asked.

"He said he was coughing blood." She was frantic. Barely few seconds has passed and she was out the door, with us following in tow.

"Liam, you should stay he--"

"Hell no!" I yelled in reply, ignoring the alpha's request and getting into the front seat of Abigail's car.

Alpha Kian, beta Oscar and beta Felix entered the other car and we made our way to their home.

I know I'm probably gonna be in trouble for disobeying the alpha's order, but I could care less right now. I mean... come on, it's Kai, my bestest friend since ever. I'm sure he would understand.

After atleast ten minutes that felt like ten hours, Abigail finally parked her car infront of the house. She got out of the car, frantically searching for the keys. She unlocked the door in a speed only a worried mother could have, and pushed the door open, entering through the door with us following

I searched with my eyes everywhere for him, my heart almost jumped out of my chest when I finally found him.

And I was terrified when I did.
