The sun rises and glistens the sand in the distance. It would normally be a beautiful sight. But not now. Not anymore. A man comes over the hill into sight. He is being watched by another man. Not just a normal man. The assailant. He is wearing a yellow western mantle with all black clothing underneath. He watches the man move down the hill through a sniper scope. He is a fancy looking man in a business suit that has been dirtied quite a bit. “This one better get me a good payment,” the assailant says to himself. He continues watching the man move for a few moments more. He likes to make sure they are killed after only one shot. To make sure they don’t suffer. He feels it is more morally right this way. The target finally sits to relax. The assailant steadies his breathing and gets an accurate aim on the man. He aims at his head and fires the gun. Another target down. He breathes a heavy sigh of relief, though, per usual, he hates doing this. He knows it’s wrong. It’s what he considers to be a necessary role in this world. He retrieves the body and brings it to his place of work. The Huntsman. He drops the body on the table and is given $50 in return. Everything is cheaper in this world, but it is also harder to obtain the money. The Huntsman is an anonymous hit agency. As long as someone pays, you don’t need to show your face to request a hit. The assailant heads back home. “Welcome home honey,” a lovely voice calls from behind him after he enters the door to his house. “Hey Deb,” he simply but lovingly responds to his wife. They embrace each other. She knows killing is hard on him. She shows her appreciation as much as she can. “C’mon honey, let me cook you dinner,” Debra says.
The assailant lives a life stained by violence, working as a hired killer for a shadowy organization known as The Huntsman. His only solace is Debra, his wife, with whom he shares a quiet but strained existence, the ghost of their lost daughter a constant presence. When a chance encounter with a young girl triggers a buried conscience, he breaks his oath and becomes the hunted. Forced to flee, they seek refuge in a seemingly peaceful village, only to find that the long reach of The Huntsman extends even to this remote haven. A relentless and brutal tracker is on their trail, turning their desperate flight into a deadly game of cat and mouse.
