His parents and grandmother, who were present, are surprised but happy.
Hector's father stands up and says:
– That's my boy! – and proudly pats his son's chest.
His grandmother and mother exchange glances, then stare at Hector’s father with a strange expression.
– What?! – says Hector’s father, confused.
Hector’s mother stands and says:
– Mom, could you make a uniform for Hector?
– Of course I can! – says his grandmother.
Hector's mother leans in and whispers to his father:
– If he comes home hurt, I’ll take both of you to the emergency room. – she says angrily.
– My little guy is invincible, right son!? – says the father to Hector.
Hector looks awkwardly and says:
– Not really... I haven’t even tested everything I can do.
– Power, what can I do? – Hector asks again.
His father hears him speaking and says:
– Who are you talking to?
– I didn’t say? It’s Power. He says he’s a celestial, and he’s where my powers come from. – Hector replies, excited.
– That’s cool... – says his father.
Hector’s mother pinches his father's arm, and he complains about it.
His mother puffs out her chest and says:
– Go test Hector’s powers. Come back in one piece and be home for dinner. Don’t get into trouble.
The father thanks his wife, quickly grabs the car keys by the door, and leaves the house with Hector. Hector waves goodbye to his mother and leaves with his dad.
His mother and grandmother look at each other, and the grandmother says:
– The outfit won’t make itself. You know the other two will want one too, right?
– You’re right... but it’s so dangerous. Layla’s okay... but Arthur is too young... – says the mother, worried.
– I know there’ll be a way. But until then, I’ve got a suit to make. – says the grandmother with a smile.
Hector and his father are in the car.
– Dad, where are we going? – Hector asks, confused.
– We’re going to a more deserted area of the city. It’s wild, but there’s no danger. I’ve been there a few times just to walk. – says his father.
– Walk? – says Hector, still puzzled.
– Yes, it’s a trail and has an amazing view of Old Vile. The view is great, it's on the high part of the city. – says the father.
– Got it. If you say it’s a good place, then I believe you.
Hector’s father looks at his son with a proud smile.
– But tell me... are you going to use your powers to... I don’t know, impress some pretty girl? – says the father playfully.
– Dad! No! Come on... – says Hector, embarrassed.
– It’s okay. You’re a good boy, you’ll give me grandkids at the right time. But what are you going to do with this power? – says the father seriously.
– I want to find Kepler. – says Hector.
– And after that? Is that it? – the father asks seriously.
– Well... I want to bring light to this world. A symbol of a hero, a beacon of hope, you know? – says Hector, a bit confused with himself.
– I get it, son... – says the father, happy.
The car slows down until it stops in a deserted area.
– We’re here. – says the father.
Hector gets out of the car, steps on the grass, and walks to his father. Both look out and see an amazing view, the whole city visible from end to end.
Hector’s father says:
– All this for you to protect... can you handle it? – says the father, impressed.
– I can... – says Hector, barely able to speak from how impressed he is.
– So... shall we see what you’re capable of? – says the father.
Hector looks at him, full of excitement, and says:
– Let’s go!!!
