'Almost there…'

I kept walking to Kayla's house, about three minutes away now. My arms are numb by this point, I can barely feel my legs too, with all of this extrà weight. I can't feel anything at all….

*Ching, Ching, Ching*

Before I passed the corner of a building, I heard noises constantly doing this 'metal' clashing noise. I walked up closer to the wall, pressing my body against it. I inched closer to the edge and peeked around it. 

I saw a man surrounded by different kinds of monsters. Zombies, slimes, wolves, and Man-insect creatures. I saw this man holding nunchucks, swinging them around without hitting himself, almost like he was a professional….

'Nunchucks…. What is that going to do against any of those monsters!?! A zombie is okay, but against slimes, it's not going to do anything! Especially against the hard-shelled insect creatures! Has this man played any video games? Apparently not!'

I was worried about seeing this man die horribly to these monsters, but…

He killed them…

All of them….

I'm surprised by how he did it. He swung it around like it was nothing… He started off killing the insect monsters. He took a step forward while the insect did too. 

The monster swung first, while he ducked and hit its ankles. It fell to the ground. Hearing a 'clunk', he slammed the nunchucks into the insect's back, where its wings were.

The insect screamed, 'Was that thing screaming? Sounds more like a high pitch buzzing sound….' and turned into dust. 

The man did the same thing with the rest of the insectoid creatures.

'It seems like they have no intelligence….. It's like this man is just spam-clicking the same move, and they can't learn that they need to just block it. I can't believe he actually killed it with how dense the outer shell of the creatures looked…. Is there a leveling system or something?'

After the man killed the rest of the Man-insect creatures, the wolves started to surround him. The man looked around him and stood with his feet shoulder-width apart. The wolves moved together, almost in synch, paw by paw, towards him. One wolf jumped high into the air, aiming for his neck, while another was going for his ankles. 

He moved so fast that it was a blur to me. The next thing I know, all the wolves are dead.

'That was so fucking cool! Am I in an anime or something?!?! Hopefully, I won't have to fight him because I'll be doomed. Ain't no coming back to life from that.'

He then moved to take the zombies out, no problem. The Zombies were pretty slow-moving; it must have felt like a walk in the park to him. Each zombie he approached had their head knocked off. He stomped out the slimes with ease.

He stood still for a second before walking off, continuing his walk in his imaginary park.

……

'Did he just leave all of that loot? Mine now!'

I looked around to make sure there weren't any more monsters.

And made a run for it.

"Free loot!!!"

Of course I didn't yell….

Maybe whisper yelled….

When I looked for marbles within the guts of the monsters, they were different colors from the ones I saw and swallowed. Green, orange, red, yellow. An assortment of colors.

I put all the marbles in one of the side pockets of one of the backpacks. I wanted to take some of the hard shell of the insect…. but it seemed kind of useless by how that man easily killed it.

I start putting the backpacks back on and continuing my journey towards Kayla's house.

"Almost there, I can see the tire swing from here."
