Wedding Day.

Guests arriving at the Harukami estate were a steady stream.

The Emperor, along with the Harukami, Fujiwara, Tachibana, Minamoto, and Kenji clans, and Admiral Edward Jones Sr., were sitting and conversing in a separate room.

The Emperor presented 500 acres of land as a wedding gift. The Admiral gifted a Mercedes Benz car each for the Emperor and as a wedding present. A revolving rifle was also presented to the Emperor as a gift from the Queen.

Since the wedding was originally arranged for mutual benefit, those who stood to gain were delighted.

Jane, however, had completely forgotten about any missions.

Having Darling was a huge gift for Jane.

Darling wore a blue Montsuki with the family crest, as blue as the sea, paired with a blue Haori and black Hakama.

Jane also wore a light blue Furisode Kimono, the color of the sea, that Darling had chosen for her. A light blue Obi was tied around her waist.

Jisu had styled Jane's hair.

Darling's hair was neatly tied up, and he wore a long head covering, which made his face look clear. Smiling amidst the lights, Darling was like the moon to Jane.

"The one sitting over there is Minamoto Kagawa. He's someone to watch out for. Don't trust his words; they're conspirators."

Jane carefully looked at the person Darling said to be wary of. He had a face like any ordinary Japanese person. His hair was slicked back.

She noticed him glance at Jane; she didn't like his gaze.

"Over in that corner are the Tachibana clan. They control Japan's economy. After the Emperor, they are the wealthiest in Japan."

Darling sat with Jane on the platform, explaining about the clans.

"Where could Roza Beni be?"

Only when Darling spoke did Jane also start looking for Roza.

"She seems to be avoiding Jisu."

Jane chuckled softly, and Darling also laughed.

The wedding ceremony was long. After the Emperor and the others had finished their final remarks, Jane and Darling had to pay their respects to the elders.

Once Jane and Darling had paid their respects, the Emperor and Daddy left together. The Lord greeted the heads of the clans.

The collective clan leaders of the Murakami clan said they would have wedding sake with the Lord and went into a separate room.

The wedding ceremony gradually came to an end.

Hana escorted Jane from the main hall to the room where she and her husband would stay. Jane's Kimono was very long, wasn't it?

Reaching the room, with Hana's help, she took off the elaborate outfit, changed into a small black kimono, and sat waiting for Darling.

Jane waited for a long time. Tired from the wedding, Jane fell asleep on the mat where she was sitting.

Jane didn't know how long she had slept. When she woke up, she was sleeping on the mattress, and the room lights were dimmed.

"Darling...?"

Darling wasn't beside Jane as she slept.

"Where did Darling go to sleep...?" Jane got out of bed and went outside the room, spotting Darling sitting in the lounge.

Jane went towards Darling. She sat down beside him and leaned on his arm.

"Darling, aren't you asleep yet...?"

"You sleep, Jane. I'll sit here for a while and then sleep."

Darling's voice was warm and clear. Jane loved even the tone of Darling's voice as he spoke.

"I love you, Darling."

Jane said with a slight whine. Darling chuckled softly.

"Thank you, Jane, for saying you love me."

"And you, Darling...?"

Jane wanted to ask, but she didn't want to hear Darling say "I love you" only because she asked. So, she just waited for him to speak.

Darling didn't say anything. He just looked at the big Sakura tree. Jane leaned closer, resting on Darling's shoulder.

"Jane, I has a request to make of you."

Darling's voice was soft and low. Darling's hands holding Jane trembled.

"What is it, Darling?"

Jane was someone who would comply with whatever Darling said. Except for words of separation, Darling.

"Let's sleep separately tonight, Jane."

Darling's words were like a thunderbolt in the middle of summer.

Darling was trampling on Jane's desire to hug him and sleep.

Having slept alone since childhood, Jane longed for her mother's embrace, and now she longed for the embrace of the Darling she loved.

However, Jane didn't blame Darling. She couldn't bring herself to accuse him.

"Okay. Can I ask why, Darling? I have the right to ask, don't I?"

"We won't sleep in separate rooms, Jane. We'll just sleep in our room with only a screen door between us. I am requesting this of, Jane."

Darling was asking. Jane's eyes welled up with tears. Didn't Darling want to touch Jane's body? Why? Was it because their blood wasn't the same? Because she was of foreign blood?

"Okay. Do as Darling pleases."

Jane leaned closer on Darling's shoulder, her fingernails digging slightly into his arm.

Darling didn't say anything, just looked down at Jane with a smile.

"I wants to spend a long time together with Jane."

Although Jane didn't like Darling's explanation, wasn't Darling also saying it with sadness?
