Summer told me she’s straight.

I’m kind of crushed. I mean, I know we met super recently and she never indicated she was into girls, but it still hurts. I’m so bad at meeting new people, and the one time I finally got a girl’s number it turned out to be 100% friendly.

But I kind of had a gut feeling it would be that way from the beginning. And I just have to tell myself it’s not the end of the world. We agreed to stay friends and keep talking, which is as much as I could ask for. She even asked to read some of my writing, although there is no way on earth I’m showing her the book I’m working on right now.

Things are going to work out. Besides, Summer’s awesome, but it’s not like she’s perfect. No one’s perfect.
