A new president has been elected! Surely he will give us a way out of this economic depression that we’re in. Ooh, look, here he comes to give the inaugural address! President Vander walks out to the podium to give his address, his wife and two children follow him.
“Hello everyone, and thank you for trusting me with this wonderful opportunity to be this amazing country’s leader. I know that times have been hard, but I promise you, under my new admi-.” A shot rings out. President Vander grasps his chest and collapses to the ground. Secret Service agents huddle around him and carry him out to an ambulance. The Vice President gets swarmed by Secret Service agents as well and taken away to a private place in preparation to take the oath of office. On the ride over to the hospital, President Vander is declared dead and the Vice President takes the oath and assumes the office of president. Everything fades to black and Former President Vander wakes up in a dark, cold, and empty place.
“I’m so thankful that God even gave me this opportunity, but did He have to have me killed right after?” He chuckles. “I wish I could have made my country proud.”
An Astral Voice enters his mind. “But you don’t have to die right now, hehehe.”
“Who said that? This is supposed to be an inner monologue y’know.”
“Ooh, so sorry to interrupt, but I can help you.” The Astral Voice responds cheerily.
“You can bring me back?” Vander asks.
“Well… something like that, I suppose. Tell me this, do you wanna live again?”
Vander thinks about it. “Well, I suppose… who are you anyway?”
“That’s something you’ll find out later, you’re smart enough boo boo. But for now… bye.”
“BYE? WHAT DO YOU MEAN B-”
Vander gets teleported to another… dark place. It suddenly lights up and all of his senses seem to be heightened. ‘What is this?’ He thinks to himself. Suddenly, a woman appears in front of him as he is turned around to face her. She seems to be speaking in a foreign language unfamiliar to Vander. She’s beautiful with long blonde hair, blue eyes, and an adorable smile that she’s wearing from ear to ear right now. ‘This must be the happiest day of her life… Oh. I’ve been reincarnated, haven’t I? Though I don’t mind, I would’ve liked at least some semblance of a warning.’ Vander gets cleaned by his mother and ponders on what to do now that he has been reincarnated. ‘This place doesn’t seem to be as technologically advanced as what I’m familiar with… they still have furnaces and coal within them. I don’t even know my name or my parents’ names. Maybe I should listen to their conversations.’ Vander looks at his mother who is now sleeping and sighs. ‘Of course. She is a new mother after all. I’m bored as hell though, so maybe I should just… slee-’ Vander goes to sleep in his mother’s arms, and the father looks at them from the other room. “Konshi. Sella konshi.”
