Mitch's POV
School is so fun!
Teachers are jerks, my classmates are also jerks, and homework piles up like there’s no tomorrow!
Yippee!
That day went as usual: Alex got into a fight, some guy tried to propose to Rain, my teachers complained that I shouldn’t be graduating to the entire class, and…
Well, this is actually where it got kinda weird.
So, there’s this girl, Melanie. We were forced to be friends with her for a while because our parents went to church together. But here’s the thing: she’s the absolute worst person I’ve ever met! She’s a huge bully, and she tried to chase off Muffin and Elliot so she could have Rain and Alex all to herself! Oh, did I mention she has a massive crush on Alex? It’s so creepy. She follows him around and bullies any girl that flirts with him. Hence why she hates Sarah so much…she’s also mean to Rain, but still wants her? I don’t get it.
Point is, she’s the worst, we hate her, she hates all of us except Alex. I’m used to her crap at this point, but…
When she came up to Alex that day, she started saying creepier things than normal.
“Alex!” God, the way she purred was so weird.
“No.” Alex slammed his locker shut and tried to walk away.
She ran up and grabbed his arm; he smacked her away, and I was about to step in and annoy her until she left, but then she said…
“I had a dream about you last night!”
Okay, not so bad, right? Well…
“We’re supposed to get married! It’s our destiny!”
C’mon, that’s gotta be a little creepy, right?!
“My ‘destiny’ is moving far away from you.” Alex snapped; she grabbed him again, only to keep getting smacked away.
“You don’t understand! Our past lives—”
“Past lives aren’t real, silly billy!” I went up and threw an arm around her shoulder, only to get the most disgusted look known to man thrown at me and shoved away.
“They’re just as real as you are, unfortunately,” She sneered. “I saw them in my dreams.”
“Sounds like you took too much melatonin,” Alex rolled his eyes. “Lay off that shit or you’ll end up in your next life.”
Melanie huffed and stomped her foot like a little kid.
“Why won’t you listen to me?!”
“Why do you know what Alex had for dinner last night?” I snorted at her tantrum.
“For the last time, I’m not a stalker!” She shoved me and then ran off, face all red.
“She definitely knows,” I hummed.
“No shit.” Alex rolled his eyes again.

Later on, we were walking home; I picked up my phone and found that Eli had spammed me with memes while he waited for us to get off.
But, after that, he started talking about dreams, too.
Tigerxx1: had a weird dream last night
Tigerxx1: i was some kinda princess and there was this prince dude
Tigerxx1: he spilled tea all over himself lmao
Tigerxx1: lowkey reminded me of you tbh
What a compliment!
LukeaDuke (Me): Not me! I don’t like tea!
Tigerxx1: lmao
Tigerxx1: how was your day
LukeaDuke (Me): Eh, same old same old. You??
Tigerxx1: godawful as usual lmao
I frowned at that; Alex asked what was wrong, and when I told him it was Eli, he actually got his phone out to message him too!
Tigerxx1: dw abt it
Tigerxx1: you home yet?
LukeaDuke (Me): Almost
LukeaDuke (Me): Is your dad home?
Tigerxx1: he went back to work, so i have a couple hours
Tigerxx1: if your parents aren’t home wanna call?
LukeaDuke (Me): heck yeah
When we did get to my house, my mom was on her way out; she told me she had errands to run and that dinner needed to be ready when she got home.
After she left and I was sure Rain, Alex, and I were alone—my sister was off at a friend’s house for the weekend, and Dad was working late—I propped my phone up on the counter and waited for Eli to call.
Eventually, he did.
He had his camera on by accident, so he quickly tried to turn it off; he started apologizing for us “having to see his ugly mug.”
See, we never turned our cameras on ‘cause the twins don’t like it; they were iffy enough about calling to begin with, so this is like, a compromise.
“ELIIIIIIIIIIII!!” Rain screamed; Alex smirked and shook his head, giving a short “Hey.”
“How’re my favorite people doing?” He finally got his camera turned off.
“Happy to see our TigerEli!” I grinned; I was currently rummaging through the fridge, trying to find ingredients for dinner.
“Is Muffin there?”
“No, she picked up a shift at work today...”
Our conversation wasn’t all that interesting; Rain and Eli babbled away about anything and everything, Alex spoke when spoken to, I cracked jokes as I made dinner…
If Sarah had been there, it would’ve been a perfect moment.
