"Don't you feel like you're punching at thin air? Frustrated and feel suppressed? He's doing it on purpose!"



I forced a smile and downed the glass of wine in one gulp. "I know." Maybe at first, I didn't realize it. But now, I could clearly see through his game.



Jack had always been extremely arrogant. His attitude towards people and things was: "I'm never wrong! Even if I am, what can you do about it?"

 I knew him well and had anticipated his reaction. But even though I was prepared, his nonchalant attitude still stung me. 

My hand holding the wine glass trembled slightly.



"I thought I'd at least get an apology from him!" 

We always hope that those who make mistakes will sincerely repent, as if only then can our wounds be healed. 

Otherwise, we just can't let it go.



It had been ten years from when he was eighteen to twenty - eight, and those were also my ten years.

 He pulled me into this relationship. When he loved me, he was sweet. But when he stopped loving me, he hurt me deeply. He should have said sorry to me.



The constant torment of negative emotions made me lose control. I took two days off work and stayed at home, not going anywhere. I cried, cursed, and had breakdowns.

 But finally, I calmed down because of a call from my boss. He said there were some changes in the contract data and asked me to revise it quickly.



I turned on my computer and got back to work. Two hours later, I sent the new contract. "Mr. Zhang is coming next Wednesday. You'll come with me!"

"Okay!"



After finishing the work, I sat back on the sofa, feeling a bit lost. 

Was I really that devastated? Jack was my own choice. 

No one forced or threatened me. So, I should take responsibility for everything that followed. 

I took the risk, so I should be able to accept the loss.
