Asche

Stephon came in wearing an uncertain expression. I kept my face void of any emotion because he oftentimes can bend me to his will when my emotions are compromised. He strode over hesitantly with a lopsided smile.

"Hey," He said.

"So you decided to finally show your face." I said, studying him closely.

He stood awkwardly at the foot of the large bed and nibbled on his bottom lip, unsure of what to say.  Stephon is a very expressive person when it comes to his feelings, but presently, he couldn't find the words to respond to my comment.

He glanced up at me, his lips turning into a frown. "Asche, you aren't going to make this easy for me."

"Of course not!" I snapped. "You were like my brother and I trusted you! But you betrayed that trust!"

"I'm sorry," He stepped closer with a grieved expression. "I don't know what came over me. I'm so stupid for believing he had your best interest at heart."

I found myself growing angry at his words, "He stalked me and backed me up into a tight corner, is that what you would call my best interest?"

"I had no idea, Asche. I figured because he's a billionaire, you'd take him up on his offer." He explained desperately.

"So now you have a great judgement of character. You can't use my profession against me!" I argued, feeling a sting of embarrassment that he of all people, thought I was always moved by a person's bank account. "Not every guy I fuck is rich!"

"Well thanks for telling me now," He threw his hands up, "After, what? You becoming pregnant! Asche, you know what you do on the side when you are not in the office and let's be honest, the majority of the men that you bedded were considerably rich so you could at least understand, even if it's a little, why I did what I did."

This asshole!

"So you'd give me away to serial killer despite his wealth." I stated dryly.

"No, of course not!" He denied, a flash of hurt crossing his features.

"Your statement confirms it." I said, icily.

"Asche, please be reasonable. Having sex guys who you've just met is dangerous, yet you took the risk. So why is this one guy the problem?" He stared at me quizzically.

"You're fucking his brother." I got out with a glare. "You were aware of who he was. You lured me onto that fucking boat!"

"I had nothing to do with that! I had no idea that you met him before and furthermore, I was meeting him for the first time that night. He wasn't acquainted with me!"

"You're a liar." I growled.

"Call me what you want, Asche but I'm speaking the truth. I didn't come here to upset you. I only came to apologize and ask for your forgiveness. I miss you and our days spent together. It means so much to me and since you're now here, we can maybe catch up on a few things if you'd like to." He said.

"Like your marriage?" I countered and he sighed.

"If that's what concerns you then, yeah, my marriage. I'm hoping you can have yours someday."

I rolled my eyes, "Not happening."

"Why not?" He asked, using that as an opening and settling himself on the edge of the mattress.

"Because I don't love him and I am not going to be with someone who's so damn overbearing and controlling."

"He's a really great guy despite his nasty attitude. I can see he's really into you." Stephon appraised. "What guy tries his best to please you and goes out of his way to ensure that you're comfortable? Especially when you're a known prostitute?"

"It seems your infatuated with that word. Let's not go down that road, Stephon." I warned.

"I'm not bashing you or trying to make you feel lesser than me. The point I'm trying to get across is, men usually just fuck prostitutes for a one time only, or when they want a quick nut. No feelings caught, however, in your case, he's so into you. He doesn't care about you selling your body."

"It's because I got pregnant, remember?" I jotted in.

Stephon shook his head. "He searched for you soon afterwards. Hey, you even took his money!"

A small smile tugged on my lips when the memory of me taking his thousands of dollars resurfaced. He's a billionaire, a mere two thousand loss won't hurt him.

"That was due to me."

"Not yet. But you took it and did you think he cared? Nope. The only thought that lingered in his mind was of you. That's when he came to me. If I only knew that you were done with billionaires, I wouldn't have done such an awful thing. I truly am sorry, Asche."

"I bet you are after taking his brother's cock for months," I seethed, crossing my arms over my chest angrily. My anger rearing it's ugly head.

"Falcon has nothing to do with this!" He snapped, defending his husband.

"So I see where your loyalty lies," I said bitterly. "He has as much to do with this as Drakos did. Falcon helped him stalk me, Stephon, and he did so quite indulgently."

"Keep Falcon out of this. Your beef is with Drakos. He bought you." He said vehemently.

I rolled my eyes once more at his unwavering loyalty to the man's brother. Those years of close friendship and struggles meant nothing to him? Is Stephon lost to me as well? Does he even know what Drakos is and if Falcon can possibly be the same as his brother? Heck, he probably is.

"You know what? It doesn't make any sense, this conversation. I'm not ever going to forgive you, you trifling, good-for-nothing liar! Bros before hoes, remember our oath, Stephon?"

"Falcon and Drakos aren't hoes."

"And you're insinuating that I am?"

"Stop twisting my words, dammit!" He said frustratingly.

I was fuming at him. How could he be so nonchalant and deceptive? I wonder how much money Falcon is packing in his bank account. They're married now so I'm sure he's sucking not just his cock dry, but his account.

"Money moves you as well." I accused, scathingly.

"How dare you! I am not with Falcon for his money! I love him and he loves me for me!" He trembled in anger, standing to his feet so suddenly as if the mattress burned him. "You know what, this isn't working at all. Stay in here with your bitter ass! I won't be further insulted by you!"

"Fuck you!" I yelled after him.

He strode out of the room in fury.

I guess our friendship is officially over.

Fuck him! I got out of bed, infuriated by Stephon. He's a lying, manipulative asshole! An unexpected sharp pain cramped in my stomach and I lurched over, holding on to the rim of the dresser for support. It felt as if my stomach was turning in knots with a stabbing pain. I moaned out and moved over slowly to the bedroom door, dragging my feet along the way. The pain increased rapidly causing me to grit my teeth. What's happening? My stomach suddenly contracted and something trickled out of my ass and down my legs. I glanced down and my face blanched.

It was blood.

The pain got hotter and hotter within seconds and I hollered out for Drakos. I called out for him repeatedly, crying tears when I couldn't stem my trembling and withstand the searing pain any longer. Drakos came bombarding into the room with fear written all over his features. The blood was outright pouring out, soaking my pants and the carpet. My vision blurred and I felt lightheaded.

"Please..." I begged weakly. He was in front of me in seconds, taking me in his arms without a second thought.

"Falcon! Falcon!" Drakos hurried out of the room and down the hall where Falcon came rushing towards him, pausing in shock at the copious amount of blood I was losing.

"I have to fly with him to my private doctor. I'm afraid I won't make it in time by car." Drakos said fearfully.

"You can't shift until you are in an isolated open space," Falcon shook his head, not agreeing with Drakos' statement. "It's not safe even though you can cloak yourself."

"Falcon I do not have the time, hell, Asche doesn't either!" He pushed past Falcon and nearly flew down the stairs at the speed he was going at. Stephon was brooding in the living room when Drakos entered the space in a hurry.

Stephon shot up to his feet with alarm and went over to Drakos who was collecting his car keys and exiting the penthouse. "Oh my goodness what happened?"

I distinctly heard the sounds of their voices but it was muted sounds to my ears as I shifted in and out of consciousness. It was Stephon's last comment that I heard before I was swallowed by darkness, "It's all my fault."

"Don't bloody touch me!" I snarled at my brother, shrugging out of his grasp from where we stood in the waiting room. Blind, white rage took over me and I couldn't see nor think straight.

Why the hell did I suggest for him to speak with Stephon? They were at each others throats, word for word. I heard them upstairs bickering but I chose to leave them to their privacy. Now look, he's probably miscarrying our child.

I paced the room as Falcon's eyes followed my actions with worry. Stephon sat in one of the chairs worrying at his lips with a tearstained face. He sniffled, drawing Falcon's attention, who went over and sat down beside him, leaving me momentarily and brought him in his arms soothingly.

"Don't cry, baby. It's not your fault."

Stephon buried his face in Falcon's chest and wept. Falcon sighed and stroked his back. The only thing Falcon was able to do was try to console him.

I feared we didn't make it in time. I drove past the speed limit but thankfully I wasn't stopped by a traffic cop. Asche's pants was completely soaked through and his skin was ghastly pale. It even looked as if he were barely breathing. I raked a trembling hand through my hair, resting my forehead against the glass that overlooked the hospital's courtyard.

If anything happened to them, I couldn't continue on. My dragon and I would be devastated. Asche meant more to me than my life did. It may have been just several weeks since our first meeting yet it felt like forever. The first time I laid his eyes on him, I knew we were destined to be together.

Even if he loses our child, I wouldn't mind. Once Asche lived on that's all that's important. There will still be an opportunity for him to conceive. But potentially losing our unborn child as well still made my heart ache. Misery really loves company.

Doctor Reynolds walked into the room with a grim expression and I nearly fell to my knees in agony but I kept myself upright and tried my best not to break down into an emotional mess. Falcon and Stephon glanced at the man dressed in a white lab coat, covering  blue scrubs with anxiety.

"Doctor, please, is he alright?" I crossed over to him with pleading eyes, clinging to hope.

"He lost a lot of blood and we're giving him a blood transfusion right now. He's weak and won't be able to see any visitors at this present time. He's one lucky fellow, if you were a minute later, he would not have survived."

I breathed a sigh of relief. But the doctor's grim expression lingered and my heart sank in my chest. "And our child?"

He shook his head and I felt my soul shatter. Stephon groaned then started outright sobbing. Falcon took on a wretched expression, gripping Stephon tighter.

"I'm so sorry, Mr. Armander. He had already miscarried when you brought him here. We will perform a ultrasound to confirm. Once again, you have my sincerest apologies. Please excuse me, I'll get the ultrasound machine ready."

I stood there staring blankly at the spot where the doctor once stood, feeling cold and bereft. I was relieved that Asche survived but now when I'm faced the revelation, I couldn't contain my raging emotions. My eyes stung with tears and my throat constricted painfully. I spun away and strode out of the waiting room, feeling the deep, anguished cry of my dragon. Falcon called after me but I ignored him. Stephon needed him more.

If I stayed, I'll be in tears and I didn't want Falcon to witness me in such a vulnerable state.

I needed fresh air. My dragon itched to broke free and transform. Flying would clear my mind but I couldn't do that right now, I didn't want to be too far away from Asche.

When I got outside, I scurried over to my car, fell to my knees and wept.

The pain of loss was unbearable.
