When class ended, I gathered my things and headed toward the school gates.
It had been years since I’d had such a peaceful day.
No worries, no threats… no bullying.
But as I stepped outside, I saw Yeda’s group waiting for me.
— "..."
Of course they’d be there.
How could I have forgotten?
She flashed me an enigmatic smile.
— "Where do you think you’re going?"
The light faded from my eyes.
It had all been too good to last.
— "I suggest—"
— "Felipe told us you beat the shit out of Marcos and the others on the rooftop."
Fabrício cut Yeda off with a sharp gesture, taking control of the conversation.
This time, his anger was different—not the usual performative irritation, but something primal, veins bulging in his neck.
— "W-what?"
I was genuinely confused.
— "Remember Felipe?"
He pointed to a guy in the middle of the group.
— "He said you wrecked all of them in minutes… and left him unharmed just so he could fetch help."
— "??"
— "That’s a lot of arrogance for trash like you."
Fabrício’s pupils dilated, fury burning in his eyes.
My confusion only deepened, even as some part of me recognized a twisted logic in his words—which, paradoxically, left me even more disoriented.
— "No idea how you pulled that off. But you’ll regret it."
— "I-I… I was in class the whole time."
— "You fucker."
Felipe lunged forward, but Fabrício threw out an arm to stop him.
— "Wait. Too many eyes on us."
— "..."
— "Enough. We’ll handle this somewhere else."
Yeda reasserted control.
— "You coming willingly… or do we have to drag you?"
Her tone left no room for negotiation.
— "..."
I didn’t understand what was happening, nor did I want to go with them.
But as always, my opinion didn’t matter.
Every day, they bullied me—whether I’d done anything to them or not.
When I took a step forward, a wave of dizziness hit me like a punch.
I nearly stumbled, instinctively clutching my head.
My entire body burned from the inside out.
— "If you’re feeling sick, don’t worry… we’ll take care of you."
Fabrício laughed, the others joining in.
I stayed silent for a few seconds.
— "No problem. Let me help you."
He stepped closer with a mocking grin.
I raised my left hand, signaling him to stop.
He hesitated but obeyed.
— "Glad you’re being reasonable."
I lifted my head slowly.
— "Hmm… What a fucking mess."
They all stared, baffled.
My eyes—once ordinary—now burned a vivid gold.
Felipe took a step back.
He’d seen it before… but thought it was his imagination.
Now he knew.
Right before I’d destroyed his friends, my eyes had looked exactly like this.
— "I’m in a hurry. How about we reschedule for tomorrow?"
Silence dropped like a bomb.
— "..."
My audacity stunned them all.
— "What?"
A second later, the group burst into laughter.
— "Since when is this guy funny?"
They all laughed… except Felipe.
— "His eyes…"
— "...What?"
Yeda caught his whisper.
— "His eyes…"
She studied me.
She knew me better than anyone.
— "?!?"
My golden eyes shocked her.
"Why are his eyes that color?"
— "Guess we’re doing this the hard way."
I yawned, feigning boredom.
— "...Fine, fine. I’ll go with you. But first… can someone tell me what that is?"
I pointed to the left.
Instinctively, every head turned.
— "??"
— "??"
Confusion rippled through the group.
— "Huh?"
Fabrício glared at me.
— "What the hell are you—"
His eyes suddenly widened.
Veins throbbed in his forehead like taut ropes.
By the time they looked back… I was gone.
— "Where’d he go?!"
— "He ran?!"
— "I don’t believe this…"
— "Hahaha!"
— "This guy’s lost his mind."
— "Anyone see where he went?"
Fabrício snapped: "FIND THAT BASTARD! WHEN YOU DO, BRING HIM TO ME!"
His lackeys, realizing he’d completely lost control, scattered in every direction to search for me.
But I was already long gone.
Yeda stood frozen, as if in another world.
"Was he wearing contacts? No… he’s never needed them. His eyes only changed after he lowered his head. And the way he spoke, how he acted… it was different. He’s changed. I know him. After all, we—"
