I unlock the door to the house very slowly and open it hoping it doesn’t squeak. Me and Marie were once really close friends. We would hang out on the daily, but as time went on we started distancing ourselves. One thing our past friendship helps out with right now is I know where the keys are.
I enter Marie’s house trying to make as little noise as possible. Then, I see Mr and Mrs Alden. They both looked different from the other zombies. Their necks were longer, like really long. I then saw the keys to the quad. They were on a little key rack next to the front door. The only major problem was that the Alden’s were also next to the front door just on the other side. I slowly go over to the key rack and get the keys to the quad, but the keys let out a soft jingle. The Alden’s turn their lifeless heads as if to look at me but they have no pupils. Their eyes white, they begin the sniff the air. Without hesitation I grab the keys from the rack as fast as possible and make a run for it. I run out the back door and shut it behind me. I slammed the door too hard alerting the other zombies around us. So I ran back to the garage as fast as possible."
“Marie! Austin! Help me close the door!” I tell them. They both come in and help close it. Thankfully the zombies couldn’t get over the Alden’s fence.
“What happened? Why were you running?” Asked Marie.
“They heard me slam the door when your parents started chasing me.” I said out of breath.
“Do you think they’re blind? I mean, they have like no pupils, their eyes are just white.” Said Austin.
“They might be blind because when I went into Marie’s house they didn’t even look at me until I made sound, and when they did they looked like they were smelling me.” I replied.
“So they might just go by their hearing and their smell. So they smell you to see if you’re one of them! As long as we don’t make too much sound we’re good!” Said Marie with hopes of making it out.
“What about the quad though? Doesn’t it make too much noise?” Asked Austin.
“It does but if we stay here we die.” Said Marie.
