Billionaire In Broken Pieces

Chapter 5: Some Dreams Are Always Weird

Chapter 5: Some Dreams Are Always Weird

Jun 06, 2025

    MIRA CLOWD

“A dream? What do you mean by that? I asked.” Like I said. Last night, I dreamt of having a wedding with a faceless man. I can’t see his face; it’s very blurry. I even spent the night with him and even touched his… well, you know what I mean. I keep having that dream almost every day. The man shows up in different ways, but his face is always unclear,” she said.

“Really? Maybe someone is coming into your life soon, or perhaps a marriage is on the horizon. You know I always say that some dreams can come true; they might just arrive from an unexpected direction or through a surprising encounter,” I replied.

“An admirer? I have none, not with the way I am,” she said, but I just smiled.

“How is your childhood friend? I hope you two have settled the distance between you, especially with his ex-girlfriend trying to ruin your friendship.”

“He’s fine. He apologized a long time ago, and we’ve settled things. I don’t blame him. He even called me yesterday, saying he wanted to see me and has something to tell me when he returns from his business trip,” Daisy said.

“Well, it’s good to hear,” I responded.

    DAISY LORNE

Mira has always been a teasing lady. She always finds a way to throw in jokes or make any situation humorous; sometimes there's a kernel of truth in her jokes. I don’t find it offensive at all; I love her vibes. She knows where her boundaries are, which is perfectly fine.

"Why not? What if that's a sign that a prince charming is coming your way to propose marriage?" she suggested.

"Tsk. You’re watching too much K-drama and C-drama. Mira, those things only exist in movies or in our imaginations. I'm not one of those girls looking for something like that," I replied.

"And is that the reason you dismiss K-dramas and C-dramas? Oh my goodness, you are being too naive and negative."

"That’s not it. I’m just stating the facts. We live in the real world. We have to apply two formulas to this question; since you’ve used the first formula and gotten an answer, now we need to use the second one to find the final answer."

"Thank you so much, baby girl. But seriously, if you don’t want a prince charming, then maybe the man of your dreams might be a general in shining armor with a sword at his side, from another world," she said, stretching her arms and looking at the ceiling like a witch that wants to fly. I smiled and shook my head, then put a spoonful of porridge in her mouth, and she shot me a death glare.

"Come on, Daisy, don’t be so unserious. Be good and love like there's no tomorrow. Don’t drown yourself in too much work."

"Love can come and go. I don’t want to find love, nor do I need it. I have other things to deal with, and love is not one of them right now. Okay?"

"Anyway, how about trying a dating app? Maybe you can spare some time for a long-distance relationship. At least your boyfriend won’t disturb you."

"Well, what if he calls? Isn’t that a disturbance?"

"At least you can choose not to pick up if you want to and claim your phone is on silent," she said.

"Let’s cut to the chase. Let’s finish your homework, and then I’ll order an Uber to send you home safely."

"Okay then. You should have just picked an educational course to study because you are like a teacher or even a mom when you scold me," she said, laughing.

"Trust me, you’ll be a good mother when you give birth to your children, especially when they are teenagers. You’ll be great at scolding because you have developed quite a scolding speech," she said.

"Okay, I hear you, Mom. Thanks for the dinner anyway," she said, and I smiled.

"Thanks for the foodstuffs and for being there for me, Mira. I really appreciate it," I said. She smiled back.

"Bye, I’ll see you again. Anyway, do you have any K-drama or C-drama recommendations?" she asked. I nodded. She got into the car, and they drove off. She has been there for me ever since Lucas and I have grown distant. I went into my apartment, cleaned up the mess we made, and went straight to bed.

Please help me; you are the only one I trust. I need you…… to be my wife. His plea, accompanied by his sad expression, revealed how frustrated he was. Daisy Lorne, a 23 23-year-old, had been Luca's childhood friend, but she came from a poor family and had always been considered "clumsy and short”. Despite these challenges, she was merciful like an angel and a loving person. Daisy faced numerous difficulties, particularly financial issues, which forced her to drop out of school to care for her mother, who was suffering from kidney problems. For some reason, she hesitated, but felt a strong sense of responsibility to care for him, believing she was the most suitable person to keep his secret.

Luca Blake, a 27-year-old CEO of a top technology company that ranks among the three most valuable in the world, faced an unexpected setback when he was given a strange drug by his ex-girlfriend that resulted in his impotence. This condition had prevented him from having any further romantic relationships or getting close to a woman.

His mother constantly pressured him, even selecting potential partners for him to choose from, unaware of his predicament. As the only child of his parents, Luca felt immense pressure to start his own family in order to inherit their legacy. With no one else to turn to besides Daisy, his childhood friend, with whom he does not have a slight romantic bond with.
