They continued on in mostly silence. Around the path, dead grass rustled in the wind and clouds rolled in from the south turning the sky grey. Lucian looked up worriedly. Why couldn't it have rained back in the city where there was shelter Cupid complained. That's not the problem Lucian said stopping in his tracks, we need to get out of here, now. Cupid turned curiously to look at him. There's no telling how long this field goes on Lucian told, we're going back to the city. He grabbed Cupid's hand, spun around, and ran as fast as he could. The sky got darker as they sprinted back into the abandoned city and ducked into the old building Lucian had slept in the night before. What was that about Cupid questioned. Wildfires Lucian sighed, the grass was dead and dry, if lightning had struck it before the rain, it might've killed us. Oh wow Cupid breathed as he sat and watched the outside through a window. Lucian joined him quietly. Thunder began rumbling ominously, but it wasn't till lightning flashed and the thunder rattled the walls, that Lucian grabbed Cupid's arm and sunk his nails in. Are you scared of the storm Cupid asked carefully. Trauma Lucian mumbled, sorry. No no its okay Cupid smiled reassuringly and held out his hand. Lucian took it, pulling his knees to his chest. Hours past as the storm continued. Eventually the two fell asleep.
