May walked in her mom's house, job application in hand. "Hi, Mom. I'm home. I have a job application for Saku-Neko."
Her mom was making eatable sunshine, which is a fish patty and a fried rice patty with spicy mayo. "I'm so proud of you! You can use the printer for your resume and cover letter; you're gonna need those things as well."
...............
Yoshida was at Walmart, cleaning up vomit. "This is sooo nasty. Whose idea was it to let some kid overload himself on candy? Come now."
May texted him, "Wanna go to a Halloween house party?"
Yoshida looked at his phone after he wiped up the chunky mixture of bile. "I don't know," he said to himself. "But I don't know how to convey that."
He typed, "Yeah. I'm dressing up as GRAVEDGR, a dj and producer," even though he really doesn't wanna go to the party.
.............
May started to work on her application. "I can get a 75% discount on anything in the store." She asked, "Can we have Drew live with us? Her mom and sister don't treat her right."
'You're kidding!" Himiko was surprised.
"Her mom abuses her and uses the disability money for herself; her sister's fame-hungry and doesn't care about her."
"I can. Also, I made a will. You can keep the house if I pass away." Himiko set two plates of food down. "Eatable sunshine on the table!" She sat down and started eating her food.
"Dad used to enjoy this, but he would use spicy mustard instead of mayonnaise." May started noshing on her food as well. She sighed. "I should probably take grief counseling."
.......
Yoshida started to take his 15-minute break. He made him some Starbucks Cafe Verona coffee. He texted May, "I have a confession: I really don't wanna go to the party; I do wanna take Kwesi and Drew trick-or-treating."
She texted back, "It's okay if you don't wanna go. We could go trick-or-treating. Also, my mom's gonna be Drew's temporary guardian till I get a house and job."
He texted back, "That's good; her mom is abusive. Bout time you took her outta that house." He poured him a mug of cocoa-noted coffee aqnd started sipping. "Anyway, my break is almost over. I'll speak to you when I get home."
"Okey-dokey. See you later, num-nums." May went back to her eatable sunshine.
