I couldn't believe that my mother had mentioned that I'm a spoilt child. Isn't that crazy?
Dammit!
Everything about this woman seem to piss me off a lot and I can't just stop wondering why she happens to be mother. She's trying to play the role of a good mother to Ethan but when it comes to me, she starts acting unusual. But anyway, I'll just have to take it with a good fate let me see how she's ever going to win Ethan's heart. Should that even be my concern? I don't think so.
Just as I opened the door to my room and came inside, I collapsed onto the bed, feeling unspeakably unhappy. I hadn't chosen this kind of life for myself, and I couldn't understand why all these things were happening. I reached for my phone beside the bed and scrolled to Boomplay. I thought some blues might lift my mood. I plugged in my earphones and tuned into my favorite Lewis Capaldi song, "Someone You Loved."
I was singing along when my door opened and my mother walked in with her so-called lover. I pretended not to notice them and continued staring at my phone screen.
"Aria don't mind your mom, you ain't a spoilt child and I know very well you ain't one." He told me and I just couldn't believe that he's trying to be encouraging. I wish he knows who my mother is. I wish he knows that she usually says all this bullshit but as a strong girl that I am, I've learnt not to let her words get through me.
"Thanks," I shrugged.
"Hope there's nothing bad if you should add, dad," my mother told me. Damn! What's seriously wrong with this woman? Can she allow me be?
"Don't worry honey, as time goes on, she'll definitely take me as her dad," he said with a smile on his face. Did someone just said that I'll definitely take him as a dad? Let's see if such miracle can happen. I'm very sure that despite the fact that my dad is no more, no other man can take his place in my life. He's one in a million dad to me and I'll always be proud of him.
"But at least, Aria can you just do me this favour by calling him dad?" My mom demanded from me. Didn't she heard what he said? Why's she even acting as if she truly cares?
"You heard him, right?" I asked her. I don't think she did because if at all she heard what he said, she wouldn't even say this to me.
"Aria..."
"Don't worry," he told my mom softly.
"Mom I'm never going to call him dad untill Ethan learns to call you mom." I told her.
I couldn't believe I even said this. In the first place, I shouldn't be fighting for her since she's the one who got herself into this mess because of her own interest, but I've already said it and I can't take back my words.
"He's a guy and he might likely find it hard to call me a mom..."
"And I'm a lady and I'll obviously find it hard to also call him a dad!" I told her sternly.
" Valentina, you might just be making things worse, you need to let her be at least you should know that she's old enough to make her own decision," he told her. I wish my mom can reason like him. The truth is, he really have the quality of a good dad. Now I see the reason why his son his this rude, too much attention!
"But..."
"Honey, calm down," he told my mom then he turned his gaze to me. "What happened to your legs?" He asked his voice laced with concern.
I look down to my legs and then I realised that he's referring to the injury his arrogant son had inflicted on me.
"Hmmm..." I tried speaking but I'm at a lost for words, what should I tell him? That his son did it to me?
No. No. No. No.
That doesn't sound nice, I recall how he'd slapped his son the other day because he'd ignored me and made me come back home alone. Only God knows what he is going to do to Ethan by the time he finds out that he was the one who'd pushed me to the ground.
But on a second thought, I would have told him that his son was the one who'd done this to me so that he would at least teach him a lesson. But that's not going to be a good idea I can't afford to be the reason why someone has to suffer in his father's house.
"Well, I fell down the stairs," I lied.
"Really," my mom said and rushed to hold me. Is she pretending?
Fuck! I hate this bullshit! She never cares and I wonder why she's acting as if she cares.
"Weren't you careful enough?" He asked me.
"Of course it was a mistake," I lied again.
I must confess, the lies I'm telling is choking me. Can they just let me be? I'd prefered being ignored than forced to lie like this.
At that moment, he brought out his cellphone. What's he trying to do?
"Hmm... What do you want to do?" I asked him, my curiosity getting the best of me.
"I need to call the doctor." He told me.
What the fuck...
Did he just said that he wants to call the doctor? For what? Just because of this minor injury. That wouldn't be necessary, I hate being treated like a princess because I know for sure that I ain't one and I'm obviously not going to be one.
"No, it's just a minor injury, and I'm fine," I told him.
"At least the doctor needs to carry out some treatments on you just Incase the wound is infected.." he told me.
For fuck sake can he just stop this preachings. This isn't the first time I'm getting injured and this isn't going to take my life.
"Don't worry dad, I'll be fine," I told him
Hold on a second, did i just said dad?
I stared at him and I could tell he's surprised that I called him dad.
"I need to freshen up," I said, rushing into the bathroom and shutting the door. I only wanted to excuse myself from their presence.
A few minutes later, I emerged from the bathroom to find my mother still standing there, her arms crossed over her chest.
" Get your stuffs prepared, your dad would be taking you to your new school first thing tomorrow morning!" She said harshly.
What!
After my experience at the party, I don't think I can fucking go there, I can't stand that crazy bitch!
