Celest’s eyes wander to the window, seeing the tree sway in what looks to be afternoon sun. She saw Owen pitch to a fence, daisies still in his hair. She probably should brush his hair and give him a nice spa day.
While Erix seemed to be in his head, Celest shuffled to the edge of the bed. Swinging her legs over to touch the floor, she braced herself as she lifted herself. She wobbled slightly but managed to grip the bed for support.
Once Erix realised that Celest was standing up, he hovered around, and she walked towards the door.
“You know you shouldn’t be walking. Even if you were healed, your energy is still drained.”
“Is the big bad vampire that concerned? Only a few days ago, we were walking out of a burning town.” Celest snipped back.
“You weren’t bleeding all over the forest floor that time!”
With all the commotion of them talking, Carlos happened to be woken up and made his way to the door. His green eyes lit up seeing Celest up in about.
The image of Celest, normally dressed in pale colours, to be smudged in a blood red haunted him every time he closed his eyes. If you had asked him a few days ago if he would care about a random girl, he would have laughed in your face. But Celest and Erix had been a chaotic force that wouldn’t leave him alone. And he doesn’t think he wants them to leave either.
“Celest, you good?”
“Yes, I’m fine,” Celest eyed Erix behind her.
“If you tripped over, you only have yourself to blame.”
A knock at the door caught all of their attention.
“Come on, screaming children, I've made some lunch.” Ignoring the fact that there was only one child, and well, two that look like kids.
“I’m older than you,” Erix sneered as he walked past.
“Then act like it, then,” Ren retorted.
They all gathered around a table, as Ren passed them all food.
“So, am I the only human here?” Carlos asked.
Both Erix and Celest started to choke.
